Modern: The Domineering Female CEO's Darkened Little Wolf Dog (3)

He was a tall, thin man wearing glasses. The way he looked at her gave her a chilling yet familiar feeling, but she couldn't quite place it.

"Dean." The three female teachers immediately came forward to greet her.

The dean nodded slightly, glanced around at the trembling little kids, and finally fixed his gaze on Xia Yixin.

"Thank you for your hard work with this child. She may have misunderstood me a little. Take good care of her and don't let outsiders laugh at her."

After the dean finished speaking, he placed three White Rabbit milk candies on the plate in front of her and turned to talk about other things.

Xia Yixin was bewildered by the sudden emotional fluctuation.

She didn't know him at all, but she felt angry and afraid when he got close.

She mentally called out to the system, "What's going on?"

The system explained, "Host, this may be the emotion left behind by your original soul, perhaps something happened before."

Unfortunately, the original owner's memories were gone, but Xia Yixin suddenly realized why his gaze felt so familiar.

Before eight o'clock in the evening, all the children were put to bed according to their age, from the doorway to the wall, with the age getting younger and younger.

It was from the bed that Xia Yixin realized that this small-bodied child, who looked like a six or seven-year-old, was actually eight years old.

After washing up, she lay in bed, listening to the little girl next door grinding her teeth, and mentally bargaining with the system.

"System, it's your fault that we've been deployed to this wrong time period."

The system chickened out, "Uh, well..."

“I know nothing right now, I’m still an eight-year-old malnourished child, and you’ve seen what kind of people are here. I might have been fine before those foreigners came, but what about the future? Unknown plot, unknown targets, don’t you think you should help as a system?” She tried to circle around the system. “Besides, you said you would compensate me.”

The system, being a single-celled organism, chimed in, "But we need to return to the normal timeline first!"

"But that's only if I can survive."

The system was also in a dilemma. As a large department, it traveled through various time and space to find a suitable host. If other systems found out that its first task was to put someone in the wrong time and place, and that person even died, it would indeed be a bit embarrassing...

"Alright... I can offer you something in return, but if we go back to the normal timeline, whatever you choose must disappear."

Xia Yixin weighed the options in her mind. She decided to give up on the system because she needed to protect herself.

When she was in the hospital, she encountered a little boy who was brought in with a high fever and many bruises and cuts. His father looked at the little boy with a crazy expression. Fortunately, the attending physician was very experienced and immediately called the police when he noticed something else in the child. When the police arrived, they investigated and found the problem.

The boy's father has mental health issues and has been abusing the boy since the divorce. The neighbors couldn't believe it because the man was usually so well-mannered that they couldn't tell he had a problem.

There's a word called paranoia.

These types of people cannot control their emotions and develop a morbid love for a certain thing or person.

She had seen this body while taking a shower. Although it was small and thin, it had delicate features and was a little beauty in the making. Unfortunately, the time travel was wrong, and she had no memory of it.

From the teacher's later conversation, she could roughly guess the reason why the original owner fell into a coma. She had bumped into the corner of the table while resisting the dean. If it weren't for the original owner's relatives who suddenly came to claim her, she didn't even know how long she would have been locked up.

And that little wolf cub who helped her open the door—she owed him something, and didn't know how to thank that child.

"Alright, I'm ready. Now close your eyes and you'll see three items I've selected that your body can use at this stage. You can only choose one." The system's voice interrupted her thoughts.

She closed her eyes, and a blank room instantly appeared before her. This was the main space she had entered before, and three semi-transparent monitors appeared in front of her.

These are Harry's lost invisibility cloak, Nozha's lost muscles, and Tang Sanzang's forgotten headband.

This bizarre name must have been given by this strange system.

Without a second thought, she took the muscle that Nozha had lost. As soon as she grasped the box, she felt a surge of heat flow into her body. She felt that calling this pill "Power Pill" would be more fitting, because even without conducting any experiments, she could feel her limbs and entire body filled with power.

It was already past midnight when she had fully absorbed the power pill. She mustered her strength to hide the medicine she had previously concealed in the pillowcase, and kept the knife in her inner pocket before letting herself fall into a deep sleep.

Unbeknownst to her, as she fell asleep, a little boy was watching her intently from not far from her bed, his dark eyes unfathomable.

Having the soul of an adult makes it too easy for them to get along with children.

Xia Yixin ate and slept with the twenty-odd little kids, then ate again and slept again, running around the yard having a blast.

During this time, the milk candy in her hand and her calm and composed demeanor allowed her to make her first friend in less than half a day.

Hua Jie, who is ten years old.

She learned about the welfare home through her.

"We dare not resist. People who resisted before were taken away and never came back." Ten-year-old Sister Hua was the oldest child. She and Xia Yixin whispered to each other in the toilet stall, while there were a few other children keeping watch outside.
