Qian Dahai's departure allowed the hundreds of guards at the Consul General's residence to breathe a sigh of relief. That night, the thousands of guards from the entire Allied Powers had experienced a tense night. If Qian Dahai had really wanted to break off relations, a fierce battle would have been inevitable.
As dawn broke, three suns rose in succession, and the rolling dark clouds outside dissipated, bringing an end to the rain.
