After the time speed was adjusted inside and outside the combat system, Xia Yixin clearly felt that the respawn rate of monsters around her had slowed down.
At this point, the number of survivors had increased to six, including Xia Yixin.
Beneath a huge rock was a temporary safe house. The entrance to the rock was blocked, but the sound of monsters digging in the ground could be faintly heard outside.
It's been almost two hours.
The six survivors sat on opposite sides of the dark cave. Apart from Xia Yixin, the other five were considered strong for having survived this long, but now they were at their wits' end.
Inside the underground cave, the atmosphere was somber and deathly silent. The six survivors were all overwhelmed by exhaustion and pain.
Xia Yixin leaned against the rock wall, panting, trying to calm her racing heart. Her mecha was the best intact among them, but the once pristine white mecha was now so dirty that its original color was unrecognizable. Half of her shoulder was corroded and deformed by the blood of the predators. Xia Yixin's entire right shoulder inside the mecha was also flushed red, showing signs of corrosion.
She tried calling V again, but an hour had passed and V still hadn't responded. She felt like she was on a deserted island, surrounded by monsters that wanted her dead.
The other five people shared the same thought as her. Although they were all wearing mechs and their faces were obscured, they either sat on the ground or leaned against the mountain wall like Xia Yixin. No one put on a defensive posture, indicating that the two hours of fighting had truly worn down their spirit.
From the cockpit of a mech called "Mad Bull," which was lying on the ground panting, came intermittent sobs.
The mecha warrior next to him immediately kicked him angrily, "Shut up, what are you crying about, you big man!"
That low growl completely shattered Mad Bull's nerves. He rolled over and grabbed the mech warrior who had kicked him, yelling, "I'm about to die! Why can't I cry?! I'm only twenty! I don't want to die! I don't want to die!"
The two started fighting in the cave after a disagreement, and no one had the strength to break it up.
Fortunately, the cave was more than ten meters high in all directions, so the fight between the two giant mech warriors didn't cause it to collapse, but a lot of sand and rocks still fell down.
Both of them were exhausted, and after fighting for a while, they stopped, panting heavily. It was the mech warrior who had just stopped Mad Bull who suddenly cried out, "You think you're the only one who doesn't want to die? I don't want to die either! This is my first time entering the Pioneer Zone, and who knew I'd run into something like this! Who did I owe anyone?! How could a lowly data clerk like me be so unlucky as to encounter a system error and now I can't even get out, I'm just waiting to die!"
They were trapped in this pioneering battleground, unable to obtain any information from the outside world. All they knew was that here, the pain was 100%, and death meant certain death.
"Mad Bull" was already filled with indignation, but when he suddenly heard what the other party said, a flash of inspiration struck him, and he looked at the white mech standing on the outermost side.
He kept muttering to himself, "There's no way there could be a problem. I've studied the combat system. Its firewall is the strongest. It's impossible for it to be tampered with. Why, why is it such a coincidence that the game you entered went wrong!"
His words startled the other three, who all stood up straight and looked at Xia Yixin.
Even though she couldn't see their expressions, Xia Yixin could sense that the atmosphere had changed.
Xia Yixin opened her mouth as if to explain something, but found that she had no way to explain. From the moment she mistakenly entered the Pioneer Module until now, she was absolutely certain that no matter who the mastermind was, it was targeting her.
They're right, they're trapped here because of her.
Xia Yixin's silence finally broke "Mad Bull's" last shred of reason. He lowered his head and murmured, "If you die, we can get out, right? If you die, we can get out!"
As he spoke, he suddenly lunged at Xia Yixin, a bayonet gripping his mecha.
The other four mech warriors took a step forward but then stopped. They also wanted to get out, even if there was only a one in ten million chance.
"Mad Bull's" attack had long lost its power. After dodging, Xia Yixin grabbed the opponent's wrist with her other hand and used the opponent's strength to flip him over and perform a perfect back throw. She also revealed her spear.
"I'm warning you, back off!"
However, "Mad Bull's" words had already taken root in their hearts. The other four mech warriors did not retreat, but instead drew their weapons.
"I'm sorry, Madam Commander, we're just trying to get out alive!"
"This place should never be a place for B-grade gene users!"
As the four of them spoke more confidently in the channel, ironically, Xia Yi noticed that several of them had previously approached him on the plane to recommend themselves.
Behind Xia Yixin was a mountain wall. She had already exhausted too much energy, and now she was struggling to fight four opponents at once.
She unconsciously gripped her spear tighter, calculating the fastest way to end the battle. As the distance between the two sides drew closer, suddenly, a strange, continuous digging sound appeared in the cave, and dust fell from the cracks in the rocks.
The monster is digging a hole!
Xia Yixin was immediately startled by this conjecture and broke out in a cold sweat. She subconsciously turned around to look at the mountain behind her, and in the eyes of the four people opposite her, this action was the perfect moment to attack.
The four attacked her simultaneously, and Xia Yixin didn't even have time to shout "Wait!" Suddenly, the mountain wall behind her shattered with a loud crash, and a huge predator charged out!
roar--!
The predator bit down on the "Mad Bull" that couldn't run away in time, pinned down the other two mech warriors with its claws, and tore the cockpit apart with a single swipe.
