StarCraft: Another Future (46)

In the past week, to avoid unnecessary trouble, Xia Yixin did not actually take any action beyond knowing where the destruction of V had progressed, and she did not even come to this special prison again.

In the dark underground space, the once towering mech still stood alone, almost exactly as Xia Yixin had seen it last time.

Currently, all the previous steps are still on paper, since once the destruction begins, it is a rapid and irreversible process.

Just as the vigilant enforcers were starting to doze off, the black mecha suddenly moved. Instantly, all the drowsiness vanished from their guards. They watched nervously as the figure suddenly walked towards the one-way mirror, almost ignoring the sound of the elevator opening behind them.

At the same time, news that Xia Yixin had gone to the underground prison again was also relayed to Lu Yuan through Wang Cheng.

When Lu Yuan learned that Xia Yixin had received a message and left, he had already guessed that it was Li Rui and Hong Feng. However, Lu Yuan did not know that Li Rui and Hong Feng knew about the things in the combat system. It wasn't until he heard the news that Xia Yixin went to see V that he vaguely sensed something.

"Commander-in-Chief, Madam has driven all the executors out. I feel like Madam's emotions are off." Wang Cheng looked at the monitor on the other end of the communicator, unable to hide his worry.

Lu Yuan frowned, immediately turned over and stood up. "Send the image over here."

Back in the underground prison, Wang Cheng immediately transferred the real-time monitoring to Lu Yuan. In the monitoring room, the other officers were just as tense.

After entering the underground prison, Xia Yixin actually demanded that all the other enforcers leave, leaving them only able to watch what was happening inside through the monitors.

At this moment, under the surveillance of more than a dozen monitors, Xia Yixin looked at V in the cell with a sullen face and pressed the intercom. However, to Wang Cheng's surprise, they could not hear what question she asked on the monitors.

Just as Wang Cheng was about to ask the researchers to investigate what was going on, a piercing sound of shattering glass in the monitoring room startled everyone, and the voice transmission system seemed to instantly return to normal operation.

A one-way mirror separates the observation room from the black prison cell; fragments of a mug lie on one side of the observation room.

V's silence ignited the fury in Xia Yixin's heart. She looked at the silent black mecha and said, word by word, "I'll ask you one last time, why did you save me? What is your purpose?"

"..." The black mecha stood silently. If it weren't for the water droplets sliding down the one-way mirror, Xia Yixin would have thought it was a still image.

She laughed angrily, "You won't cooperate? I'm not surprised at all. Then let's ask it another way."

Xia Yixin was actually so angry because of his sudden silence after she asked those two questions, which made her realize something – she had been completely misled by him during their previous meeting and conversation.

One of the three laws of AI systems is that they cannot lie to humans unless ordered to do so by their master. This is to prevent the over-development of artificial intelligence and is a law embedded within the system that the system cannot violate.

Looking back on the questions she asked V before, she realized that he had given irrelevant answers and had not directly answered "yes" or "no".

Once you change your mindset, asking questions becomes much simpler.

"You're the one who saved me in the combat system, right or wrong?" Her hand hovered over the electric grid button, even though she knew it posed little threat to him.

In the monitoring room, Wang Cheng frowned upon hearing this question. Was the Commander's wife confused? It was clearly the Commander who went to rescue her from the combat system, how could it be...?

"yes."

The mechanical male voice of the mecha ruthlessly interrupted Wang Cheng's train of thought, and he blurted out in a loss of control, "He's lying!"

However, AI systems cannot lie to humans.

But how is that possible?!

Compared to the shock of everyone in the monitoring room, Xia Yixin felt a sense of relief when she heard the answer, but the next sentence made her frown again.

"I saved you, but I also changed the combat system program. Master, there's no point in you worrying about these things. Instead, think about how to destroy me. Otherwise, do you really think this dark, dilapidated place can trap me?"

The mechanical male voice was flat and monotone, but its arrogance was enough to make all the executors in the monitoring room who heard it want to immediately shoot him into a sieve.

Xia Yixin was also angered by his provocative words, but when she saw the mecha's faceless "face," she felt that she wasn't staring at an AI system or a robot, but a person. Moreover, while his words sounded like a provocation, upon calming down, they seemed more like...

Remind her to destroy it.

This felt too bizarre, and Xia Yixin quickly dismissed such a far-fetched idea.

Suddenly, a strong sense of exhaustion washed over her. Perhaps the hostility she had felt earlier had softened because of what happened in the combat system. She slowly lowered her hand and turned off the one-way mirror, restoring it to its transparent glass state.

"V, does it have to be this way? If what you want is freedom, I can rewrite the program. As for any other conditions, we can discuss them properly."

She was gambling; she hoped things could be resolved more simply.

Finally, the towering mech inside the black prison reacted. He walked towards her step by step, his pace slow but firm. However, just as his hand was about to touch the glass wall, the surrounding electric grid suddenly activated.

It's Wang Cheng!

He sensed something was wrong when he saw Xia Yixin change the isolation settings in the surveillance footage; the defense in one-way mirror mode was much stronger than in glass mode. Although he couldn't be sure what V would do, Wang Cheng absolutely couldn't let anything happen to her, so he quickly led his men down and activated the emergency procedures.

Before Xia Yixin could even shout "Wait!", V had already been flung away by the electric grid.

The black mech that crashed heavily into the wall did not decay; instead, it seemed to be enraged and suddenly charged toward the isolation one-way mirror, sparks flying everywhere.

The power of the electric grid, millions of Ford's power, even destroyed the left arm of the black mech with the huge current, but he suddenly burst into maniacal laughter.

Xia Yixin looked at the mecha struggling and laughing within the electric grid and hurriedly called out to Wang Cheng, who was about to press the grid again. She thought it was a misunderstanding, but V's next words made her realize that she had been too naive.

The black mech broke free from the electric grid and slowly stood up.

The mechanical male voice was wild and unrestrained: "Humans, how foolish and presumptuous you are! Who do you think you are?! Either you find a way to destroy me, or I will kill you and destroy the whole world! Hahahaha!"

The mechanical mech roared and laughed as it charged madly toward the one-way mirror. Boom!

The one-way mirror vibrated violently.

Centered on the point where the mechs collided, more than a dozen cracks spread rapidly, and the alarm was triggered instantly.
