Chapter 159 Have you had enough?

Chapter 159 Have you had enough?

Xie Siyan drove his car through the streets in the evening until he stopped in the parking lot of a high-end apartment building.

On the way, he called again to inquire about Song Yingxi's situation.

Little Yuzu is kindergarten age, but she is precocious. She calmly answers her father's questions and can also take care of her sick mother.

After learning that Song Yingxi's condition had not worsened.

Xie Siyan was finally able to relax a little.

He took the elevator upstairs to the apartment building where the fire had occurred. Song Yingxi had returned from abroad and unintentionally rented the room opposite his.

The two became neighbors without knowing it.

Xie Siyan walked to the door across from his own and rang the doorbell.

Little Yuzu immediately took her short steps, glanced at the video doorbell, and after confirming it was her father, tiptoed to open the door.

In order for Xiaoyouzi to see her mother every day, Xie Siyan recently moved back here with her son.

Her son was naturally overjoyed, and even though Song Yingxi didn't say it, her inner joy was unspoken.

"Dad, you're finally here."

Xie Siyan stepped into the room, stood in the entryway, and patted his son's head.

"Don't worry, Yuzu, Daddy's here. Mommy will be fine."

"Hmm." Xie Zhiyao still trusted his father's medical skills. He took his father's hand and walked towards the room.

Xie Siyan hesitated for a moment, a thought flashing through his mind: should he greet Song Yingxi before going in?

However, his son's words immediately dispelled his concerns.

"Dad, Mom was talking in her sleep. She called your name several times."

"Really?"

"Dad, I'm lying, I'm just a puppy."

"........"

Xie Siyan followed her son into the room. The bedroom was drawn with heavy blackout curtains, and a small warm yellow lamp was lit by the bedside.

Under the lamplight, Song Yingxi's cheeks were flushed with an unnatural redness, and a folded towel was draped over her forehead as she rested with her eyes closed.

Xie Siyan looked down at her son and whispered, "Did you put the towel there for Mom?"

Xie Zhiyao puffed out her little chest, looking like a little adult.

"When I had a fever, Dad, you put a towel on my body to bring down the fever. I remembered that and started doing the same thing to bring down Mom's fever."

Xie Siyan sincerely praised her son.

"Little Yuzu, you're great! You did a wonderful job."

Afraid of waking Song Yingxi who was lying in bed, the two whispered in hushed tones. Suddenly, they noticed that Song Yingxi's eyelashes were trembling slightly.

The two immediately fell silent.

"Yuzu, let me show this to Mom. Can you go outside and watch cartoons?"

"Dad, you must keep a close eye on Mom."

Xie Siyan nodded solemnly.

Then Little Yuzu tiptoed out.

Xie Siyan did not close the door and saw her son sit on the sofa, take the remote control, turn on the TV, and skillfully switch to Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf.

He then walked to the bedside and, by the dim light of the bedside lamp, carefully examined Song Yingxi.

Song Yingxi developed a few scattered red rashes on her neck and a few around her ears.

Xie Siyan frowned, bent down, and pushed her sleeve up.

Sure enough, there were red rashes on my arms as well.

He didn't say anything, and calmly lowered his sleeve, found a thermometer, and put it under Song Yingxi's armpit.

Song Yingxi was probably feeling unwell, and even with Xie Siyan disturbing her like this, she didn't wake up.

Xie Siyan stood in the room, looking around. The room was simply and cleanly decorated, which suited Song Yingxi's personality.

A framed photo sat on the dresser by the window, and his gaze fell upon it, instantly freezing in his eyes.

Those are photos from their camping trip in the wild during their college years.

As they were about to head back, a sudden downpour made the mountain road difficult to traverse. For safety reasons, everyone decided to find a flat spot to pitch their tents and spend the night there.

There was a small cave that the men gave up for the women to stay in.

Song Yingxi used her own small pot, lit a fire, put some water and a few compressed biscuits in the pot, and cooked a pot of hot biscuit porridge.

She shared some with the girls, and there was still a bowl left. She took the cup and went to Xie Siyan's tent.

"Here, have this." She said, pursing her lips.

"Have you got a meal yet?"

"I've already eaten." Song Yingxi told the first lie in her life.

Suddenly a gust of wind blew Song Yingxi's folding fan over.

Xie Siyan looked at the broken umbrella ribs, hesitated for a moment, and stepped aside: "Come in and hide for a while, I'll find you an umbrella."

Without waiting for Song Yingxi's reply, he turned around and walked to his backpack.

Song Yingxi gazed at his tall, upright back as he crouched down. She still remembered how Xie Siyan had stood up for her back then.

It was from that moment that she could never forget him.

Xie Siyan, holding the umbrella, turned around and looked at Song Yingxi, who seemed to be in a dilemma.

"What? You don't like my umbrella?"

Afraid that he would misunderstand her, Song Yingxi quickly shook her head. She tightly gripped the hem of her clothes, knowing full well that if she missed this opportunity, she would never have the courage again.

Xie Siyan watched as she stared at him without moving.

Just as he was about to speak.

Song Yingxi took a deep breath: "Xie Siyan, I like you..."

Xie Siyan was stunned for a moment. He had never cared about matters of the heart, and he was oblivious to Song Yingxi's crush on him.

The wrinkles between his brows deepened, and he spoke with a completely indifferent expression.

"Song Yingxi, I only focus on my studies. I don't want anything else to bother me. Do you understand what I mean?"

That couldn't be clearer.

If you don't understand, you're an idiot.

Song Yingxi refused the umbrella he offered and ran to the tent, holding back her tears.

The next morning.

Gu Yuheng came over and said, "Song Yingxi has a fever."

Xie Siyan stood outside the cave for a long time, and before he could go in, he saw Song Yingxi walk out with a pale face.

"Why do you have so many red rashes on your neck?"

Song Yingxi said softly, "I get rashes when I have a fever, thank you for your concern."

Her tone was clearly distant, and she walked past Xie Siyan without waiting for him to speak.

A few days later, the photos from the camping trip were developed. One of them was a picture of him standing on the mountaintop, reaching out to pull Song Yingxi up.

He took the photo and went downstairs to the girls' dormitory.

I stood there for a long time before Song Yingxi finally came back with her food.

Song Yingxi looked at the photo he handed her, took it, and threw it onto the lawn beside her.

"Let's not see each other again. I've sorted out my feelings and don't want anything else to affect me."

Xie Siyan was proud and arrogant, and had always had a smooth life, but he was faced with Song Yingxi's indifferent attitude.

He chose to turn around and leave.

Xie Siyan came to her senses.

The photos, which were thought to have been thrown away, were kept by Song Yingxi.

Song Yingxi woke up two hours later.

After Xie Siyan checked her temperature, he went downstairs to the pharmacy to buy fever reducers and helped her sit up to give her the medicine.

Song Yingxi took the medicine in a daze and fell asleep again.

He only regained consciousness after the medicine took effect and the fever subsided.

"You're awake."

She was taken aback when she saw Xie Siyan sitting at his desk, then said, "What are you doing here?"

Xie Siyan turned around, got up and walked over, raising his hand to her forehead.

Song Yingxi stepped back to avoid his hand.

Xie Siyan paused for a moment, but still shamelessly touched her forehead.

"If I hadn't come, you would have burned yourself to a crisp. Luckily, I arrived in time and miraculously saved you from being roasted."

Song Yingxi frowned and pushed his hand away.

"Have you touched enough?"

He even got addicted to touching it.
