Chapter 162 Unhypnotizing
The glaring bloodstains snaked along the dark street.
The immense backward force caused Xie Shen's body to be dragged a considerable distance on the ground before finally coming to a stop.
He was covered in blood, his body contorted in a grotesque position, lying pathetically on the cold ground.
Passersby were terrified by this sudden scene.
After witnessing Xie Shen's horrific death, they all scattered and avoided him.
"That's terrible. All four of his limbs are broken, and blood is gushing from his mouth and nose. He probably won't make it."
“Look, the shoes have fallen off. There’s an old saying that the worst thing about a car accident is when the shoes fall off. This is definitely not going to work.”
The driver, who had just gotten out of the car, almost collapsed to the ground as he listened to the murmurs around him.
The police officer and Xie Tingyan walked quickly from the hotel entrance to the middle of the road.
A policeman squatted down next to Xie Shen and reached out to check his pulse; there was no rise or fall.
Then he looked up and shook his head at his colleague.
The driver, looking extremely anxious, said, "I was driving normally, I didn't run a red light, and I wasn't speeding. He just suddenly appeared out of nowhere, I didn't even have time to react..."
The police officer was fully aware of the situation and truthfully said, "Go to the police station to give your statement later, and the rest will be handled by the insurance company."
Xie Tingyan stared at the silent Xie Shen, his jaw clenched, without uttering a word.
The ambulance arrived quickly.
The doctor checked Xie Shen's pupils and rechecked his pulse. Xie Shen showed no vital signs and was pronounced dead.
After the police and doctors handed over the body, Xie Shen's body was loaded into a vehicle and taken to the funeral home.
The police officer walked over and said, "Mr. Xie, this incident is beyond our expectations. Please accept our condolences to your family. We will notify you to handle the matter after the traffic accident investigation is completed."
Xie Tingyan nodded: "Understood."
He watched the police cars and ambulances drive away slowly with their sirens blaring, and the streets returned to calm.
The onlookers dispersed.
Within the area centered on Xie Tingyan, only he remained.
He had called her "Uncle" for thirty years, but she harmed his younger sister and then suddenly died before his eyes. It was impossible for him not to have complicated feelings.
He couldn't understand how people could be so good at pretending.
They managed to deceive everyone right under their noses.
Afterwards, he could act as if nothing had happened, continuing to pretend to be a brotherly and respectful elder, always presenting an upright image in public.
His whole family treated him like family, but he disregarded this precious affection.
He showed no mercy to Yao Yao, who had called him "Uncle" for over three years, and continued to frame her for his own benefit.
Truly cold-blooded and ruthless.
The sins he committed, which he tried every means to commit, could not escape the righteous punishment of Heaven. When the torment of evil finally ended, everything returned to peace.
Xie Tingyan walked toward the two people who had been standing at the hotel entrance for a long time.
The old man suddenly aged a lot in one day; he seemed to have been sitting upright just yesterday.
"Grandpa," he called out.
Xie Zhongguo's eyes showed exhaustion, and his voice was old: "It's all over, go back."
Xie Yuan looked at his father with concern: "Dad."
Xie Zhongguo sighed: "Your elder brother deserves what he got. I was afraid he would follow in his father's footsteps, so I tried to guide him to do good from a young age. But he was still hard to change and went down a path of no return. His fate was sealed and no one could change it."
"Okay, let's go home, I'm tired."
Xie Yuan didn't say anything more: "Dad, let's go home now."
----
Gu Yuheng communicated with Su Niannian beforehand and obtained her consent.
He Wenqiang was called in to help Su Niannian break the hypnosis.
The study was draped with heavy blackout curtains, blocking out all light and making one feel tense.
Gu Yuheng helped Su Niannian sit in a chair and considerately covered her lap with a wool blanket.
He knelt beside her, stroking her head reassuringly: "Niannian, don't be afraid. I'm here with you. You're just taking a nap. When you wake up, you'll remember your dad, mom, grandpa, older brother, second brother, and..."
Su Niannian tilted her head slightly and looked at him: "Pudding."
Gu Yuheng paused, his hand still: "What, am I not as important to you as Pudding...?"
Su Niannian raised the corners of her lips and her eyes curved into a smile: "I was just kidding you. Of course, it's my dear husband."
Having been reassured, Gu Yuheng glanced at the closed door; the man surnamed He hadn't come in yet.
The time, place, and atmosphere were all perfect for doing something.
Gu Yuheng lifted his eyelids, looking serious, like a celibate gentleman.
But what he said wasn't very serious.
The big bad wolf coaxed the little white rabbit gently, a wolfish smirk on his lips: "Niannian, words alone are not enough to prove it. Give me a kiss, and I'll believe you."
Su Niannian's eyes widened; this was the first time she had ever heard of such proof.
It was absolutely astonishing.
"I reasonably suspect that you're trying to trick me."
Gu Yuheng's stunningly beautiful face, with its slightly upturned peach blossom eyes, suppressed his mischievousness.
"Do you think I'm the kind of person who would try to trick you? Niannian, if you're tired of me, just say so. I'll leave on my own. You don't need to make excuses. You heartless little thing, you really hurt me."
He spoke with great detail and conviction, his tone even carrying a hint of dejection, not to mention the look in his eyes.
It seems like Su Niannian really dislikes him if she doesn't kiss him.
Su Niannian's forehead was covered in black lines.
The man squatted quietly, his gaze lowered, not looking at her.
"Aheng, don't keep your head down."
"You don't like me anymore, and I'm afraid seeing my face will bother you... I'd better keep my head down."
"........"
Su Niannian was speechless. How come she had never noticed how childish the uncle was before?
Oh, I forgot, you can't call him "uncle".
Otherwise, they'll immediately get angry.
She pursed her rosy lips, gripped the armrest of the chair, and slowly approached the handsome man.
His red lips touched his fair skin; his lips were very red, and his skin was very white.
Su Niannian's mind wandered: Gu Yuheng is so fair-skinned. I hope my little girl will inherit her father's fair skin.
Just as she was thinking this, her lips had not yet left Gu Yuheng's face.
The sound of the door opening was accompanied by Gu Yunshu's booming voice.
"Wow, I never thought that after being single for twenty years, I would actually have the chance to witness other people kissing in person, especially my older brother and sister-in-law, hahaha."
Su Niannian was suddenly startled.
She hurriedly pressed down on Gu Yuheng's shoulders and helped him sit up straight.
Her face flushed bright red, and she looked towards the door, her eyes radiating heat.
Gu Yunshu's eyes were practically sparkling with excitement; seeing the two separate, she visibly felt a pang of regret.
"Niannian, just pretend I don't exist. You guys continue."
Su Niannian gave Gu Yuheng a reproachful look, then covered her face with her hands.
I wish I could find a hole to crawl into.
Gu Yuheng stood up, put his hands in his trouser pockets, and looked up at Gu Yunshu with his chin tilted back.
He whispered, "Gu Yunshu, are you a reincarnation of a megaphone spirit?"
Gu Yunshu asked, puzzled, "What do you mean?"
Gu Yuheng lifted his eyelids: "You never stop babbling wherever you go. I should really hang you up at the company's main entrance so you can say 'Welcome to Gu's Company' 24/7."
Gu Yunshu frowned and looked at Su Niannian: "Sister-in-law, did you see that? Gu Yuheng always bullies my sister. He said I'm a loudmouth."
