Chapter 394 The Seven-Year Itch

May 30th, Sunday afternoon.

While other students had already left the school building to enjoy their short breaks, several first-year high school students who were participating in the Olympiad were still studying in an activity room on the first floor.

"Alright, that's all for today's class. Everyone, study hard after class, the exams are on June 4th." With that, the Olympiad teacher, who had been hired at a high price to teach the students for one lesson, waved his hand and turned to say goodbye.

Teacher Zheng, who had been waiting for a long time, stepped forward first to shake hands with him, said a few polite words, and then turned to look at the six students in the classroom.

These six students, selected from the best of the best, are the first-year high school students the school will send to participate in the Olympiad this year. After such a long period of study and observation, Teacher Zheng knows that, apart from Chen Bing, at most one of them can pass the preliminary rounds. As for winning a provincial award through the league, that's highly unlikely.

Although that's what he thought, he still smiled and encouraged them, "After this class, our six-session intensive course will be over. You've worked hard during this time. Even if you don't pass the preliminary round in a few days, I believe this experience will become a precious memory for you."

After he finished speaking, he handed out several math Olympiad papers to everyone, said a few more words, and mentioned his plans for a few days later before leaving.

After he left, some students picked up their things and chased after him, wanting to talk to him again about the Olympiad. Others stayed behind and chatted with others. Of course, some paired up and went out to rest, like Chen Bing and Shang Yunmiao.

"Let's go, we've been up for almost two hours, let's go out for a short walk and rest."

Okay~

After agreeing, Shang Yunmiao handed her backpack to Chen Bing to help her carry it, and then put on her autumn school uniform.

Seeing this, Chen Bing also became curious.

"Why don't you wear a coat in an air-conditioned room, but you wear one outside?"

"Because it's windy outside."

"Hmph... Is that so?" Chen Bing nodded, said nothing, and didn't return the backpack to her. He just picked it up and carried it on one shoulder.

"Why don't we leave the things here and get them when we come back? Otherwise, we'll have to go upstairs to the classroom."

After hearing the suggestion, Chen Bing thought it made sense, so he placed Shang Yunmiao's backpack on the nearby table and then reached out to hold Shang's hand.

Originally, they only planned to hold hands, but Xiao Shang took the initiative to change from holding hands to linking arms, and used both hands to hug Chen Bing's arms.

If it weren't for the ridiculousness of the cricket Shang Xiaoxiong, Chen Bing would have suspected that Shang Yunmiao had gone astray and was trying to seduce her.

Of course, the adorable Shang Yunmiao wouldn't go astray. Soon, Chen Bing learned from her why she rewarded herself like that.

"Thank you, Chen Bing, for staying with me these past two months."

"What's there to thank me for? I've been by your side every single time since you were little."

"That's right." Shang Yunmiao smiled sweetly. Because they had known each other since childhood, their presence was always in each other's lives.

"Then I must thank you even more. Thank you for always being by my side. I am truly grateful."

These words sounded like they were spoken at parting. Chen Bing smacked her lips, originally wanting to complain, but the words that came out were changed to teasing: "Since you're so grateful, don't just say it, show your gratitude with some concrete actions, like letting me see your sincerity."

"The weather is so nice today, not too hot or too cold. There are still some flowers on campus that haven't all fallen yet. Let's take a walk around the school."

Skillfully changing the subject, Shang Yunmiao stretched out a hand and pointed outside, saying quite happily.

Since there was still plenty of time for the short break, Chen Bing wasn't in a hurry, so she agreed to Shang Yunmiao's suggestion.

Sunday afternoon was quite peaceful. And it wasn't just the weather; the faces of the students passing by also changed from their usual gloomy expressions to vibrant ones.

Chen Bing remembered that when she was in high school in her previous life, she didn't have much to do during breaks. Most of the time, she would take a shower, then go for a walk on campus with some random friends to relax and chat about things like "If I had a girlfriend..." and then go back to the classroom to watch a movie for a few minutes after dinner.

As the years have passed, the overlap between memory and reality has brought Chen Bing a sense of confusion.

"Why don't we go check out the senior year section? The college entrance exam is coming up soon, and they just had a two-day break a few days ago, but they're still having classes as usual."

There were no objections; Shang Yunmiao was willing to follow Chen Bing wherever she wanted to go.

The two then went to Zhiyuan Building, the senior high school building, and began to visit each building from the first floor.

Although it's the senior year of high school, and the college entrance exam is less than a week away, the atmosphere in the classroom is clearly not very good.

In classes with teachers, students can concentrate on their studies, but in self-study classes, things can get quite chaotic.

After all, it's the final stage, so some relaxation and impatience are inevitable.

Standing in front of the display walls of each class, Chen Bing and her companion looked at the inspirational slogans and college entrance examination goals written by the students in that class.

Some classes uniformly listed which 985 or 211 universities they wanted to attend, while others uniformly listed which public second-tier college or even a vocational college.

After three years of study, the fruits of everyone's hard work are clearly visible here.

Well, watching too much of this kind of thing can be a bit depressing.

Chen Bing casually covered Shang Yunmiao's eyes and teasingly said, "Guess what I'm going to do next," in order to distract Shang.

The little trick worked perfectly; Shang Yunmiao's attention was immediately drawn from the somewhat oppressive display wall to her flushed cheeks. She held Chen Bing's hand, preventing him from acting recklessly, while pleading with him to let her go.

Under a combination of coercion and persuasion, Shang Yunmiao agreed to many unequal treaties, finally escaping Chen Bing's grasp.

After that little flirtation, Shang Yunmiao, without learning her lesson, took Chen Bing's hand again and walked with him to the top floor, the fourth floor.

"Speaking of which, I'm suddenly feeling quite emotional," Chen Bing said as they walked up the stairs.

Upon hearing this, Shang Yunmiao asked him curiously what he was reminiscing about.

"It's nothing, I was just thinking about how we've known each other for so many years and we're still not tired of each other. It's a bit unbelievable. Isn't there a saying about the seven-year itch?"
