Sigh~
Well, it's a happy kind of trouble.
As expected, after the New Year, Liu Xiaoxiao told Chen Bing about the situation at that time, picking and choosing what to say.
Although Chen Bing, who believed he had everything under control, was still unaware of the "discovery of shameful items," this did not affect Liu Xiaoxiao's "truthful confession" of other matters. Now, the shrewd Chen Bing had a pretty good idea of the reason for the major change in Shang Yunmiao's behavior.
That's because I used to be too repressed and too cautious in my interactions with myself. Now that I've broken through the barriers in my heart, the feelings I've kept hidden for ten years have been released all at once, and my behavior has naturally become more enthusiastic.
Specifically, this behavior refers to being more enthusiastic at home and bolder outside.
Chen Bing naturally adored his adorable childhood sweetheart, who was so proactive and would call him "brother" when no one was around. But occasionally, on very rare occasions, he would be troubled by the little girl's mischievousness.
For example, he might say nonsensical things, tease him with his way of addressing him, or even touch him inappropriately. All of this repeatedly made Chen Bing want to punish him, sanction him, or... adjust his mindset!
However, this is just wishful thinking. After all, we're still at school. If we really want to adjust the other person's mindset, we'll have to wait until we get home.
Honestly, what's the rush? Haste makes waste.
After a moment of daydreaming, Chen Bing suppressed her inner thoughts and also suppressed Shang Yunmiao's mischievous heart by pressing down on her little head.
"Don't get distracted, listen attentively."
Seeing Chen Bing so serious, Xiao Shang felt embarrassed to continue fooling around. So she focused her attention and began to listen attentively to Chen Bing's explanation of the problem.
To err is human, to forgive divine. Chen Bing nodded, feeling both gratified and somewhat regretful.
And so, the two restless individuals began their teaching and being taught, and as expected, their minds wandered off again before the school term ended.
The teacher explaining the topic seemed somewhat distracted, his restless eyes constantly drifting towards the girl's fair neck. Those listening were also not paying attention, their minds mostly preoccupied with the warmth and scent swirling around them.
I don't know how much I learned in this lesson, but the time just passed like everyone else's.
Just when you finally get to be close to someone, another unexpected event occurs in your heart.
Strangely enough, as soon as Chen Bing and her companion hurriedly packed their bags and stepped out of the classroom, the cool evening breeze of late spring brushed against their cheeks, and their restlessness inexplicably subsided, as if it had been blown away by the wind. And once they got on their electric scooter, the cool evening breeze turned chilly, and their feelings faded even further.
Xiao Shang simply hugged Chen Bing from behind, remaining quiet and silent. Thin clouds circled the bright moon, and the evening breeze caressed the two of them; life was peaceful, and time seemed gentle.
This gentle warmth lasted until they got home. Before entering the house, Shang Yunmiao, unusually, didn't kiss Chen Bing on the cheek. Instead, she smiled brightly, waved to Chen Bing, hugged her once more, and then turned to go back to her own home.
After standing there watching the other person leave, Chen Bing raised her hand, recalling the feeling of holding hands with Shang Yunmiao just now, before reluctantly returning home.
That evening, just when he thought his time with Xiao Shang was about to end, there was another knock on the door.
Almost the instant she heard the knock, Chen Bing sprang to her feet from the sofa, then darted to the door and opened it. The entire sequence of movements was fluid and seamless, taking no more than 2.5 seconds.
Unfortunately, to Chen Bing's great disappointment, the person standing at the door was not the Xiao Shang he had been longing for, but the gentle and beautiful Aunt Yun.
Chen Bing thought his facial expressions were fairly good, but Yun Xuan still noticed that his expression shifted from subconscious surprise to unconscious disappointment.
The pretty aunt was holding a fruit plate, her head tilted slightly to one side, as if expressing her doubt.
"Aunt Xuan!"
To cover up his embarrassment, Chen Bing quickly put on a happy expression and took the initiative to give his Aunt Xuan a light hug.
"Why are you here so late?"
"I cut some fruit at home, so I brought some to you."
"Oh, okay." Chen Bing quickly thanked him after taking the fruit plate.
"Eat your fruit and go to bed early, don't watch TV too late." Yunxuan seemed to have heard the TV in the living room. She was already a head shorter than Chen Bing, so she held up one finger and said to Chen Bing with the demeanor of an elder.
"Okay, I understand."
After ending the previous conversation, Yunxuan turned around and went back to her home.
However, as soon as she opened the door, she was met with her daughter's gaze.
"Mom, is Chen Bing asleep?"
The daughter asked somewhat hesitantly.
"You're not asleep? What's wrong?"
Yunxuan replied in a nonchalant manner.
"Oh, oh. I'll go ask him a few biology questions."
"It's quite late, why don't we ask again tomorrow?" Yunxuan replied tentatively before turning her gaze away from her daughter.
Realizing she might have guessed something, Shang Yunmiao mustered her courage and replied while reaching for her biology exam paper, "No, it's okay, I'll be back soon."
"Okay, then come back to sleep early, don't stay out too late."
"Uh-huh."
Her daughter left, crossing the width of four tiles to reach the apartment across the street. Yunxuan thought to herself silently, then walked to the sofa and sat down without a word.
Having witnessed the entire process, Shang Zhengxin put down his phone, and the couple remained silent for a moment.
"No matter what, puppy love is still a bit..." Faced with his wife's continued gaze, Shang Zhengxin's voice grew softer and softer until it was almost silent.
“Bingbing isn’t a bad child.” After her husband swallowed all his words, Yunxuan gently retorted.
Upon hearing this, Shang Zhengxin hurriedly explained, "I didn't mean he's a bad kid. Yes, I know, both kids are good kids. I'm saying that puppy love isn't a good thing, I'm talking about the issue, not the person. These two kids used to be fine, but in the last few months they've gone a bit too far, and I'm worried something might go wrong."
"What problems could possibly arise? Bingbing is very sensible and knows her place."
"I'm not talking about that. I'm worried that the two kids will focus on early romantic relationships and it will affect their studies."
Shang Zhengxin's concerns were not unfounded. In fact, Chen Bing and Shang Zhengxin had indeed shown this tendency recently, and tonight's evening self-study session was a microcosm of it.
Yunxuan couldn't refute this. She could also see some bad signs between the two at school, but what could she do?
She was afraid that if she directly told the children, it would create a rift between them, and even more so, it would affect their relationships and their studies. This had always been Yunxuan's thought.
However, today she had a slightly different opinion.
