Chapter 3
Xia Zhongqin was still busy with her expense reimbursement invoices, too lazy to pay attention to Liu Qingqing's nonsense.
Xia Zhongqin only thought in his mind "crazy", that is, the leader gave some fixed-quota invoices to his subordinates, so does this prove that the leader is interested in his subordinates?
Xia Zhongqin has been in the Sucheng branch for neither long nor short, less than a year and a half. Apart from the project inventory every Monday night, she and Lian Yijian have no communication on weekdays.
Lian Yijian is a good-looking and capable person in the Sucheng District branch of Beijing Smart Internet Company, but he gives people a very cold and aloof feeling, which is also Xia Zhongqin's overall impression of Lian Yijian.
There were only three girls in the Sucheng District Delivery Department: her, Ji Yue, and Pan Lulu. Xia Zhongqin didn't think Lian Yijian was biased towards any of them. He treated them all equally.
After work, Xia Zhongqin did not return to her temporary rented house in Xiatang, Loumen, Industrial Park, but went to the Sunset Red Nursing Home on Donghuan Road.
From the time she was eight years old until she graduated from university, Xia Zhongqin lived in the Sunset Red Nursing Home.
Last night, Wang's mother, Wang Haiyun, called her and said that she hadn't seen her for almost a month and asked her to be sure to come back for dinner after get off work tonight.
The Sunset Red Nursing Home is a public-private partnership with 60 nursing beds. It admits three types of elderly people: those who can take care of themselves, those who are semi-disabled, and those who are disabled.
Due to its thoughtful service and affordable prices, the Sunset Red Nursing Home is now fully occupied through word of mouth from the children, relatives and friends of the elderly who have stayed there. There are still many elderly people waiting in line outside to stay.
As the director of the Sunset Red Nursing Home, Wang Haiyun works almost all year round. She has a commercial house in the modern garden of the park that she bought in her early years and has rented it out for many years. She eats and lives in the nursing home on a daily basis.
The Sunset Red Nursing Home that Wang Haiyun is in charge of is a Grade 3 nursing home in the Suzhou Industrial Park. In addition, it is well managed and often receives television interviews or reception work arranged by the Civil Affairs Bureau of the park.
It is not easy for Xia Zhongqin and Wang Haiyun, mother and daughter, to have a meal together occasionally.
Xia Zhongqin took the subway directly to the Sunset Red Nursing Home and left as soon as she got off work at 5:30.
After rushing for a long time, it was almost seven o'clock when we arrived at the Sunset Red Nursing Home.
Xia Zhongqin greeted the security guard and was let in. During the day, the gate was always closed to prevent the elderly from running out.
The Sunset Red Nursing Home covers an area of 50 square hectares and consists of three buildings. After entering the gate, Xia Zhong took the elevator along the left side of the corridor to the northeast corner of the third floor - the two-bedroom apartment where Wang Haiyun lived.
In the room, three freshly cooked seasonal dishes from Suzhou were placed on the desk in the living room: Taihu white shrimp, fried pork with wild rice stem and Taihu white fish, as well as yam and pork ribs soup that was already cooked in the rice cooker.
As soon as she reached the door, Xia Zhongqin smelled the aroma of food wafting from the room, a smell that only existed at home. Xia Zhongqin hadn't smelled it for a long time. Wang Haiyun was cooking stir-fried vegetables and mushrooms on an induction cooker.
Seeing the person he had been waiting for for a long time finally come back, Wang Haiyun greeted her with a smile while cooking, "Qinqin, wash your hands first. We will eat after this dish is cooked."
After washing her hands, Xia Zhongqin quietly walked behind Wang Haiyun and hugged her from behind as before.
Xia Zhongqin put her face against Wang Haiyun's back, very intimately.
"Mother Wang, thank you for your hard work. I told you that we should go out for dinner tonight. Your Qinqin has started working and is able to earn money. You used to support her, but now she can support you."
"This child, even though she's grown up, is still as spoiled as she was when she was little. If she gets a boyfriend in the future, who can stand it? I will have to treat my Qinqin like the apple of my eye."
While the two were talking, Wang Haiyun had already quickly scooped the fried mushrooms and vegetables from the pot and put them on a plate.
Xia Zhongqin also went over to help pick up the dishes and chopsticks.
After living together for more than ten years, we have developed a habit of not eating staple food as long as there is soup at home. We just drink some soup and eat some vegetables.
Before the meal, Wang Haiyun first served Xia Zhongqin a large bowl of pork ribs with only one or two pieces of yam in it.
"Qinqin, I haven't seen you for a month. You look so haggard. You must eat more meat tonight to replenish your energy. Is it because you've been under too much pressure at work recently?" Wang Haiyun looked worried.
Since she started living with Wang Haiyun at the age of eight, Xia Zhongqin likes to share with Wang Haiyun everything, whether happy or sad, at school or in life.
Although they are a mother and daughter, they get along like best friends.
Xia Zhongqin naturally told Wang Haiyun about the century-old project for which she was the project manager.
"Mother Wang, have you ever encountered such unreasonable people in your life or work? I really poured all my energy into this project, but I didn't get the results I wanted."
Seeing that Xia Zhongqin was only busy talking and hadn't touched the ribs in her bowl, Wang Haiyun hurriedly said, "Qinqin, eat first. After dinner, we can have a good chat about your work."
"You and Mr. Wang Bai Nian have different perspectives, so you're looking at things from different angles. Everyone in the world is driven by profit. He wants to achieve great things with little money. To put it bluntly, he wants to take advantage of everyone. You can give him some sweet treats first, but we definitely don't agree with unbridled greed. We also have to have a bottom line. After you finish your meal, I'll tell you how I handled similar issues before."
Xia Zhongqin replied "OK". She saw Wang Haiyun sitting next to her looking at her with worry. Xia Zhongqin quickly picked up a piece of yam from the bowl with chopsticks and started eating.
