Volume 1 Chapter 2 When did you come back?
Du Ruo wandered aimlessly around the campus of University A for three hours, walking through every corner of the campus, wanting to feel the vitality and enthusiasm of the young people that the stinky old man had mentioned.
People of her age were more energetic than she had imagined. Every few minutes, someone would come up to her and talk to her, asking if they could get to know each other, make friends, or add each other on WeChat.
Du Ruo had never seen so many people who wanted to make friends with her. The word "friend" was too unfamiliar to her.
But due to her personality, she always looks calm from the outside.
The stinky old man said that to use an ancient Chinese saying, she is the kind of person who remains calm even when faced with a huge disaster.
So even though I was surprised in my heart why young people love making friends so much, I didn't show it on my face. I just opened the WeChat software, which I was not very familiar with, and clicked on the QR code as they said. The WeChat account that originally had less than 30 people on it, turned into a account with 3,000 people after a few hours of browsing.
Du Ruo looked at the number of so-called "friends" and felt proud for a moment. She would show off to the old man later and see what a genius is. Making 3,000 friends in one day is a genius. Let him say nothing about her!
In March, the cool breeze in North City was blowing. Du Ruo was wearing enough clothes, so it wasn't too cold, but she was tired. She looked down at her phone, and Xu Jingmo hadn't replied to her WeChat messages. She could only find a place to rest first.
She wanted to go to the library to read some books, but she was not allowed in because she did not have a student card, so she went to the cafeteria because she was hungry.
Lunchtime had just ended, and there were only a few people in the cafeteria, with little food left. Du Ruo picked a window that seemed to have more food.
The aunt in the window was sitting and chatting with the aunt next to her, and she was laughing so hard that her chin dropped.
Du Ruo stood in front of the window and pointed at a few dishes, saying, "Hello, I want these."
The aunt glanced at her, stood up, scooped a spoonful of liquid, and shook it three times before filling it for her. "18."
Du Ruo asked: "Where can I scan the code?"
Auntie: "What do you mean by scanning? Swipe your meal card."
“I don’t have a meal card.”
"Hey, student, how can you eat without a meal card? Are you kidding me? The meal is already packed."
"You didn't say I can only pay with meal cards."
"Do I need to tell you this? Which student of A University doesn't know that you need to swipe your meal card to eat? Cash and QR code are not supported! You are not from our school? Why are you coming to the cafeteria to join in the fun if you are not from A University? You can't get into A University, so you come here to visit?"
The cafeteria was deserted at the moment, and the aunt's sharp voice attracted everyone's attention. Her condescending attitude did not only seem like the cafeteria was owned by her family, but also like A University was owned by her family.
It was unreasonable for Du Ruo not to know the truth, but that was no reason for her to have a bad attitude.
Du Ruo's expression remained calm. He looked at her very calmly and said, "Fat-ass-nerd."
Auntie was stunned, not understanding what he meant, and asked sharply, "What are you talking about? Good Chinese people don't speak Chinese."
Du Ruo sneered disdainfully, "So you don't understand. I thought the cafeteria aunt at A University was fluent in eight languages. It's not that great."
The aunt choked. Du Ruo looked at her output with saliva flying all over the place, then glanced at the tray in her hand, turned around and left with a look of disgust.
I could vaguely hear the aunt complaining to the neighbor behind the scenes: "Look at the girls nowadays. They look decent, but they are not sure what they are like behind the scenes. They even go to other schools to eat and drink for free. Who knows what they are thinking? They don't look like good students."
Shi Rui and his two companions had just entered the cafeteria when they witnessed such a big drama. In an instant, they had an idea and imagined a scene in their minds where a hero saves a beautiful woman and the beautiful woman falls in love with him.
Shi Rui rushed over, took a photo of the name tag on the aunt's chest, and said angrily: "Just wait for the complaint! What an attitude!"
The aunt snorted fearlessly and said righteously, "Is it my fault that you didn't pay for the meal?"
Du Ruo didn't take this sudden episode to heart. She had encountered many cases of people looking down on others. Such ordinary people were not worthy of wasting her extra energy.
But after what happened, not only did she not get to eat, but she also got bad luck. She immediately lost her patience and wasted several hours just waiting for news from Xu Jingmo. He was as dead as if he hadn't replied. What kind of class could he take without checking his phone for several hours? He was not worthy of her waiting!
Du Ruo was preparing to leave University A and go out to find a place to eat.
Just as he reached the cafeteria door, his cell phone rang suddenly. Du Ruo lowered his head to check it, answered it expressionlessly, and a deep and pleasant voice came from the other end.
"Come to my school? Where are you now?"
"The third cafeteria."
"I'll be there in five minutes."
Du Ruo said nothing and hung up the phone. He found a seat and sat down. He was angry and thought to himself that if Xu Jingmo was late for even a second, he would be dead.
As soon as she sat down, three boys came over and sat opposite her. One of the boys had red ears and said shyly, "Classmate, don't be angry. The attitude of the aunt in the third canteen has always been bad. I just complained to the canteen manager." Then he handed her a cup of hot milk tea and said, "The food in the third canteen is not very delicious, but the milk tea is okay. If you don't mind, have a cup to warm your stomach first."
Du Ruo looked at him calmly for a few seconds, then took the milk tea and said, "Thank you."
The boy's eyes flashed with joy, and he asked curiously, "You are not from our school, right? I have never seen you before."
Du Ruo inserted a straw, took a sip of milk tea, wrapped a few pearls in it, chewed them, and found them chewy and strong. Her eyes lit up and she asked, "What is this?"
Shi Rui was stunned for a moment and didn't understand. He only saw that she seemed to have found something interesting. She took another big sip of milk tea and chewed it slowly as if savoring it. Her bright red and moist lips made him embarrassed to stare at her closely, so he quickly looked away.
He tentatively replied: "Bubble milk tea?" Is there anyone these days who doesn't know what bubble milk tea is?
Du Ruo nodded in understanding, "It tastes good."
Shi Rui saw her serious look while commenting, and was inexplicably tickled. He couldn't help but laugh. She was so cute, so pretty...
The tension in his heart disappeared for some reason, and he continued, "If you like drinking, I'll buy you another one?"
Du Ruo: “Okay.”
Shi Rui was overjoyed. Did she not reject his advances mean that he had hope? !
He excitedly raised his eyebrows at Meng Senyang and Chu Cong. Just as he was starting to feel confident, Du Ruo took out his phone and opened the WeChat QR code. He asked him with clear eyes, "Are you here to make friends with me too? Add me. I'll transfer the money for the milk tea to you via WeChat."
Shi Rui's smile froze. While scanning the QR code to add him as a friend, he said, "It's just a cup of milk tea. You're welcome."
Du Ruo said truthfully: "You're welcome. I have money, but I don't have a meal card."
She was just speaking the truth, and in the ears of the sharp ears, what she meant was "It's just a cup of milk tea, it's not like I can't afford it, don't take it personally."
All the emotions were written on his face. He felt a little disappointed for a moment, but then he adjusted his mood immediately.
Yes, this little fairy who is prettier than celebrities, how can she win favor with just a cup of milk tea?
Shi Rui asked: "Taro milk tea is also good, do you want to try it?"
"Sure, thank you." He kept holding up the QR code, and seeing that the two boys next to him didn't move, he asked again, "Aren't you guys going to add me?"
Meng Senyang and Chu Cong were both stunned. They looked at Shi Rui, then at the beautiful woman, and asked, "Can we join too?"
Du Ruo said calmly: "Why not?"
The person who just came to ask her for her WeChat also came in groups, and almost everyone added her WeChat.
Shi Rui's eyes warned them not to cause trouble, but the friendship was overturned again. Meng Senyang and Chu Cong both took out their phones in unison and added each other as friends.
What a joke, who wouldn't want to be a friend of a beauty of this level? Just looking at her circle of friends, she's good.
The three of them exchanged glances silently, while Du Ruo on the opposite side lowered her head and drank her milk tea seriously.
Suddenly, a familiar and pleasant voice sounded.
"When did you come back?"
