Volume 1, Chapter 36: His sweetheart is the best.
After changing clothes, the two went out for breakfast and then went to see a Chinese doctor.
Along the way, Xu Jingmo drove seriously, while Du Ruo looked out the window absent-mindedly.
Just because you haven’t eaten pork doesn’t mean you haven’t seen a pig run.
Besides, she has done well in biology and psychology, so she can figure it out.
She has been acting strangely lately, this has never happened before.
It's just been these few days, when I'm with Xu Jingmo, he would pop up from time to time.
Even mostly when physical contact occurs between them.
From a biological perspective, this should be due to changes in hormones in the body, the natural attraction between opposite sexes, and the curiosity and exploration of relationships between men and women during adolescence. No one can prevent or control this; it is human nature.
The youngest person she interacted with all year round was more than 10 years older than her, which resulted in her never experiencing the "adolescent restlessness" that her peers experienced.
The abnormal beating of her heart and the inexplicable ups and downs of her emotions all indicate that she is probably in love with Xu Jingmo now.
Du Ruo was not surprised that she would fall in love with someone. After all, she was a normal person and had no intention of spending the rest of her life alone. She just hadn't considered it.
She was surprised that the feeling of 'love' came so suddenly.
It wasn't the first day she knew Xu Jingmo, nor was it the first time she had physical contact with him. How come just in these few times... so suddenly, she had a different feeling?
Du Ruo turned her head and looked at Xu Jingmo carefully.
His profile is well-proportioned, his eyelashes are very long, and his lips are very light, but his deep and narrow eyes neutralize that sexiness. When he has no expression, he looks very cold and cool, as if he doesn't want strangers to approach him.
In fact, he was just a shameless person. Du Ruo just thought so when he heard Xu Jingmo ask, "Am I good-looking?"
He looked straight ahead, concentrating on driving, and just curled the corners of his lips with a sly tone.
Du Ruo smiled inexplicably, feeling that his evaluation of him was very accurate.
"It's OK, but a little worse than mine."
"Tsk, you haven't looked at yourself enough in the mirror every day? Appreciate the diverse beauty. I'll let you appreciate it for free."
"You're still a little short of it. Give me the money and I'll consider it." After saying that, Du Ruo really didn't even look at him. He closed his eyes and leaned back in the chair pretending to be asleep, with an expression of 'don't get close to me'.
Xu Jingmo shook his head and laughed. If there weren't little girls confessing their love to him on the confession wall every day, he would really doubt whether he was charming enough.
Okay, who called her Du Ruo? It’s her right to dislike him.
Du Ruo didn't sleep, she was just thinking. Maybe it was because Xu Jingmo now had the physical characteristics of an adult male, and she could no longer feel that they were both children.
He looks good, has a nice voice, a good figure, and is considerate and caring. He has bewitched her mind, so it is normal for her to like him.
Du Ruo didn't worry about it anymore and just thought about the recent abnormality in himself.
Liking someone is one thing, but liking someone doesn't mean you have to be in a relationship. She really has no intention of being in a relationship right now.
Moreover, Xu Jingmo is a friend, a best friend.
She had never considered having him as a boyfriend.
How can a boyfriend compare to a good friend?
It must be because she has had too few contacts with people. When her heart was moved, she had no choice but to go straight to the guy next door. Isn't that ridiculous?
It seems like she really needs to make more friends of the opposite sex...

After about half an hour, the car slowly stopped at the entrance of an alley.
After getting off the car, Du Ruo followed Xu Jingmo along the alley path and finally stopped in front of an ancient courtyard house.
Push open the half-open wooden door and walk into the yard.
The courtyard is full of ancient charm, and the air is filled with the faint aroma of traditional Chinese medicine. In the center of the courtyard, a vigorous old locust tree stretches out its lush branches and leaves, and three exquisite bird cages hang on the treetops.
Under the tree, an old man with gray hair was sitting on a bamboo chair, holding a palm-leaf fan, wearing a Tang suit, with a blanket covering his legs. He was gently fanning the small stove in front of him, and the Chinese medicine in the pot, as the heat rose, emitted bursts of medicinal fragrance.
"Grandpa Ning." Xu Jingmo called softly.
When the old man heard the voice, he slowly turned his head with a kind smile on his face, gentle eyes and a detached temperament.
Meeting his gaze, Du Ruo bowed slightly and nodded politely.
Ning Sichang smiled and greeted, "Xiao Jingmo is here, come and sit down, the tea is ready."
The two of them sat on a stone bench nearby. Ning Sichang put down his palm-leaf fan, picked up the teapot on the table, and poured tea for them.
Upon seeing this, Du Ruo clenched his right fist, put his five fingers together, and tapped the table three times.
Ning Sichang looked up at her with a hint of surprise, and Du Ruo looked back at him, calm and composed.
After pouring the tea, Ning Sichang put his four fingers together and stretched out his hand to signal.
Du Ruo gently picked up the middle of the teacup with his right hand and took a sip gracefully and calmly.
Xu Jingmo also picked up the teacup, took a sip tentatively, and then smiled and said, "The tea is pretty good today."
Ning Sichang looked at Du Ruo and asked, "What do you think, young friend?"
Du Ruoqing put down the teacup without making any knocking sound, and replied softly: "It has a full taste and a long aftertaste. It must be the best Iceland."
Xu Jingmo naturally noticed her little action just now, but he didn't understand what she meant. Now he heard her suddenly mention "Iceland". What does the country have to do with tea?
He didn't understand and looked at them both with puzzlement.
"Hahaha..." Ning Sichang laughed out loud with admiration in his eyes, and said bluntly: "Xiao Jingmo, this kid you brought is interesting. He knows more about tea than you do. This pot of good tea is worth brewing."
Xu Jingmo's attitude towards him was very natural and friendly, with a tone of disdain, "As for your tea, I won't drink it even if you give me money. I have never tasted anything so bitter in my life."
Ning Sichang reached out and tapped him, then said with a smile, "You know nothing."
Du Ruo smiled, "Could it be that he was drinking Lao Man'e?"
Ning Sichang said, "Yes, the last time he came, I was brewing Lao Man'e. I poured him a cup and he vomited on the spot. I was so angry. My tea cakes were limited, and every cup I brewed was one less."
"I'm not worthy of it." Xu Jingmo still looked disgusted when he thought of the taste.
Du Ruo chuckled and thought, he couldn't even accept the bitterness of American coffee, let alone tea. It was really hard for him.
Ning Sichang looked at Du Ruo curiously and asked, "There are very few people your age who know so much about tea. Do you like drinking tea?"
Du Ruo shook her head and explained, "My grandfather also loves to drink tea, and happens to prefer Pu'er. He only has a little knowledge of the types of Pu'er."
Ning Sichang praised him, "You are too modest. I know a little bit but I can't taste it with just one sip. This brat can only say it tastes bad or it's just okay. You are an expert."
Du Ruo smiled politely and did not continue to be humble.
Ning Sichang continued, "Is your grandfather busy on weekdays? Invite him to come and taste my Pu'er tea. I have a lot of good Pu'er tea."
Du Ruo smiled and said, "That's a pity. My grandfather lives in Jiangcheng. But I will tell him to come to your place for a cup of tea the next time he comes to Beicheng."
Ning Sichang laughed cheerfully, "Hahahaha, fine, fine, come on, there's plenty of tea."
Xu Jingmo glanced at Du Ruo from the side. She had a faint polite smile on her face, and she was gentle and peaceful, which made people feel good about her at first sight.
Ning Sichang was actually a weird old boy. He never married or had children in his life, and he had very few friends. His grandfather was one of his good friends.
It's rare to meet someone who can make him look at him differently at first sight.
Xu Jingmo and You Rongyan, his sweetheart, are the best.
I can't understand why such a good person would grow up to be a loner. Is it a side effect of being a genius?
He wanted to challenge it. With him around, Du Ruo wouldn't be able to be so lonely.
