Chapter 189 Gathering

The girl panicked even more when Mo Ye glared at her, bowing repeatedly in apology before taking several steps back.

He stepped on the curb and immediately lost his balance, falling backward.

She fell right at the gap where two bushes met; falling like that, with no shelter whatsoever, just thinking about it hurts.

What bad luck!

She closed her eyes in despair, the expected pain failing to come, but instead she felt a tightening around her waist.

She quietly opened her eyes, and what she saw was an absolutely stunning face.

Even though they were both girls, for some reason, the girl blushed instantly when Kui Kui looked at her.

She was about to thank them when she heard the voices of several girls.

"Aoi! Aoi!"

Kui Kui turned around at the sound and saw three girls rushing over with suitcases.

It was Xia Menglu, Wu Youyou, and Wang Duoyu.

All three were surprised, delighted, and angry at the same time.

They originally planned to go to Kui Kui's hometown to pay respects to Kui Kui's mother.

If you're lucky enough to meet Kui Kui, that would be even better.

They never expected to be so lucky; they saw Kui Kui before even leaving the campus.

But why is she hugging a girl? And who is this girl? They don't get this kind of treatment!

They suddenly felt as if their sincerity had been misplaced.

Wu Youyou was the quickest to react and the most straightforward. With red eyes, she said, "Why didn't you tell us you were coming back? We were even planning to go to Wangjia Village to look for you! We almost missed you!"

"I also decided to come back at the last minute. Xiaobai left before me, hasn't he come back yet?"

Xia Menglu also rushed over and replied, "No, Grandpa Bai went to look for you and hasn't come back since."

Wu Youyou pouted and pointed angrily at the girl in Kui Kui's arms, saying, "How long are you going to hold her?! Who is she?"

The girl came to her senses, steadied herself, took a few steps back, and twisted her fingers as she said, "You... hello, my name is Feng Dan, Feng as in Danfeng, Dan as in Danfeng."

She turned to face Kui Kui and bowed again, saying, "Thank you so much. You saved me twice today. I still don't know your name."

"My name is Kui Kui, Kui as in leader and Kui as in sunflower. These are my roommates, Wu Youyou, Xia Menglu, and Wang Duoyu. They are all very nice people."

Wu Youyou blushed slightly, scratched her face awkwardly, and realized that she had acted impulsively.

She had a sudden inspiration and suggested, "Um... this isn't the place to talk, how about we go to Manning Cafe near the school gate? I'll treat you to afternoon tea?"

Kui Kui looked at Feng Dan, clearly asking for her opinion.

Feng Dan hesitated and said, "I haven't been having much luck lately. Not only am I unlucky, but sometimes I also drag down the people around me. Maybe... I should just forget about it?"

"With me here, you'll be fine. As for my roommates, don't worry, I'll take good care of them. I also want to ask about your situation in more detail." Kui Kui's voice was soft and her tone was gentle, yet it had a reassuring quality.

The girls present felt a warm feeling in their hearts.

Only Mo Ye curled up in a ball, feeling utterly cold inside.

Feng Dan's eyes lit up, and she said with delight, "Okay...okay! I'll treat you! And thank you Kui Kui for saving me too."

"That's great, let's go!" Wu Youyou was also very happy, after all, Kui Kui was back!

As she spoke, she took Kui Kui's hand.

Xia Menglu, quick-witted and agile, took Kui Kui's other hand.

Wang Duoyu sighed, thinking to herself: Well! I'm the only one who's superfluous.

Fengdan was so envious. Her roommates hadn't been close to her in a long time. They were all afraid of being implicated by her, so they all distanced themselves from her.

She knew her roommates were right, but she still felt a little sad.

Finally, she simply moved out of the dormitory and lived alone.

She glanced at the somewhat deformed bicycle and parked it directly in the nearby parking shed.

The five girls walked toward the school gate, chatting and laughing.

Mo Ye: ...

Have you forgotten something?

He sighed helplessly, slowly stood up, and followed.

Five girls sat down, chattering away, adding a touch of life to the otherwise quiet coffee shop.

Mo Ye followed her into the coffee shop and saw that Kui Kui was surrounded by women on both sides, leaving no room for him next to her.

While he was still hesitating about whether to sit in the only remaining seat diagonally opposite Kui Kui, a girl in a white down jacket entered the coffee shop.

As the girl passed by him, she said softly, "Excuse me, could you move aside?"

Mo Ye felt the voice sounded familiar, but didn't think much of it. He subconsciously turned to the side and saw the little girl sit in the only remaining seat.

His body trembled slightly, whether from pain or anger at someone getting there first, it was hard to tell.

After the girl sat down, she smiled at him, her bright white teeth dazzling him.

Mo Ye clenched his fists and sat down alone at another table not far away.
