Chapter 19 The Reverse Scale

Mo Ye flashed and flew towards Kui Kui, her long hair spreading out.

Tormented by the curse, his originally fair skin was tinged with a sickly blush.

He braced himself against the stone door, pinning Kui Kui against it.

The two were very close, their noses lightly touching.

Mo Ye's gaze softened a little.

"You want to help me?"

"Hmm...your body is so cold..."

Mo Ye parted his thin lips slightly and exhaled a puff of white mist, a layer of frost forming on his curled eyelashes.

"Do you know what I want? This is what I want." Mo Ye said, pressing his hands on Kui Kui's slender wrists and burying his face in his warm neck.

His sharp teeth grew back, gleaming coldly.

Why did you come back?

You will not die if you do not come back.

“I wanted to set up a shrine for you, so I came back to find you.”

The sharp teeth, about to pierce his skin, paused, and a bitter smile appeared on Mo Ye's lips.

This curse is really driving him crazy.

Despite having made up his mind not to harm this little human girl, he almost couldn't resist again and again.

He said calmly, "Fine, I allow you to establish a shrine."

"Shall I help you to bed first?"

For the first time ever, Mo Ye did not refuse Kui Kui's concern.

Instead, he pulled Kui Kui into bed with him.

Snakes are cold-blooded animals, and the curse made his body even weaker and made him even more uncomfortable from the cold.

He hugged Kui Kui tightly, closed his eyes, and said, "Don't move. Kui Kui, you're so warm. Humans are so kind."

Kui Kui wanted to push him away, but his last words made her soften.

Mo Ye greedily absorbed the fragrance and warmth emanating from her.

"Are you... are you alright?"

"Almost done..." Mo Ye's long eyelashes brushed against Kui Kui's fair neck.

Kui Kui was very itchy, but thinking about what he had just endured, and worried about hurting him, he could only grit his teeth and bear it.

As time passed, Kui Kui felt that no matter how much she tried to warm the person on her body, she couldn't get warm. She was so cold!

Her hand unconsciously touched the fox tail at her waist.

As if hearing her plea, the fluffy tail sent warm currents through her hands and into her entire body.

Kui Kui seemed to be bathed in warm sunlight.

This warmth was also given to Mo Ye.

Eleven o'clock finally passed, and the power of the curse disappeared.

Mo Ye exhaled a breath of stale air, released Kui Kui, and said, "It's almost time. You can leave now."

"Was that a curse?"

"yes."

Kui Kui lowered her eyes, and after a long while, she finally asked the question that had been bothering her.

"What exactly did you do wrong?"

Mo Ye shook his head, staring blankly ahead.

“It’s been too long, I don’t remember. It’s also possible that because my primordial spirit left my physical body, I don’t remember many things.” Mo Ye said, pointing to the huge black dragon beside him.

Kui Kui glanced down at the fox spirit tail in her hand, bit her lip hard, and as if she had made a great decision, handed the fox spirit tail to Mo Ye.

"Here you go. The fox spirit's tail can't help you lessen the curse, but it can at least keep you warm and comfortable."

Mo Ye frowned again, his gaze falling on Kui Kui's face, and said with a playful tone, "We met by chance, and you don't even know who I am, yet you give me your protective treasure?"

"I am the snake demon sealed in the snake coffin!"

"Grandma Hu said that the fox spirit's tail can ward off bad things. It didn't ward you off, so you're a good person."

Mo Ye was amused by her idea.

"Little girl, are you stupid? The reason why Fox Fairy Tail didn't resist me is because my abilities far surpass those of your Third Grandma Hu."

He's a good man; he doesn't even remember who he is.

But he knew perfectly well that what was sealed in the snake coffin must have done something wrong.

And with this curse on him, he must be utterly wicked, right?

"There are so many snake spirits on the road out of the coffin. Have you thought about how you'll walk it?"

“I have realgar, so I can draw talismans.”

"What happens after you get out? You've been forced to take refuge in the snake coffin. Even if you manage to escape this calamity, the road ahead is destined to be difficult."

"Living is a journey of self-cultivation. No one can live it easily. Besides, you saved me, and I want to do something for you."

The last sentence, though barely audible, struck Mo Ye's heart like a powerful punch.

He tucked the fox spirit's tail into his waistband, and with a flick of his wrist, three shimmering triangular scales appeared in his hand.

"Alright, I'll accept your fox tail. You can keep these three reverse scales."

These three scales are left from each of his molting processes.

The dragon's reverse scale is where the essence lies, and its effects surpass even those of the fox spirit's tail.

Moreover, three pieces were delivered at once.
