Chapter 30: A Series of Mishaps

Xia Menglu could no longer hold on; her body went limp, and she was about to fall.

Kui Kui, quick-witted and agile, caught her.

"Are you alright? Are you experiencing low blood sugar? I have some chocolate in my pocket."

The next second, Kui Kui's expression changed, and his voice turned into a male voice.

She licked her lips and exclaimed excitedly, "Chocolate! I want to eat chocolate!"

“Cats will die if they eat chocolate,” Kuikui said with a serious expression.

"The body I'm using now doesn't really count as a cat in the strict sense."

"Xia Menglu, give me the chocolate, and I'll do you a favor—anything within my power, as long as it's not immoral! How about it?"

Xia Menglu was completely bewildered by Kui Kui's constantly changing expressions and alternating male and female voices, which sounded like he had a split personality. She nodded stiffly.

Kui Kui looked helpless.

The next second, he excitedly tore open the chocolate wrapper in his pocket, stuffed the whole chocolate into his mouth, and looked completely satisfied.

At the same time, her gaze also fell on Wang Duoyu.

There were red marks on her wrists and ankles, which looked like marks left from being rubbed by fine threads.

Not daring to disturb Kui Kui, Zhao Xiaoying went to ask Xia Menglu what had happened after Master Hui Si appeared.

Xia Menglu not only told Zhao Xiaoying what Master Hui had done and said, but also told her about Li Ke'er's incident of Wang Duoyu being beaten by a villain.

Wang Duoyu was also shocked to hear this, never expecting that she would consider Li Ke'er a friend.

Li Ke'er, however, regarded her as an enemy!

Zhao Xiaoying said, "Then it matches up. I never expected that one of my students would be so vicious!"

Kui Kui left Xiao Bai, and her eyes returned to their original color.

She raised her head and said, "It might not be her. Although I don't know much about witchcraft, beating a villain shouldn't cause the body to suddenly lose control."

Zhao Xiaoying frowned and said, "Whether it's Li Ke'er or not, if she has the intention to harm people, that's unacceptable!"

Xia Menglu nodded emphatically, and the next second, her phone rang.

She glanced at the caller ID; it was Wu Youyou who had answered. She said, "Hey, Youyou, what's up? Kui Kui and I will be back soon."

Wu Youyou said anxiously, her voice trembling with tears, "Lulu, something's happened! Li Ke'er's in trouble!"

"What! Don't rush, speak slowly." With that, she turned on speakerphone.

"I originally planned to stay up all night and keep an eye on Li Ke'er! But I was so tired that I drifted off to sleep."

"When I woke up, I found that Li Ke'er was gone."

“I rushed over to find her. She was wearing pajamas, barefoot, and dancing ballet at the top of the stairs. Like, like a marionette, she kept spinning around and around.”

“I called her name, and she suddenly stopped, smiled at me, and jumped down the stairs! I immediately called 120.”

"Is Teacher Zhao still in the hospital? I can't get through to her on her phone, I can't contact her."

Zhao Xiaoying guessed it might be related to the summoning of spirits earlier, so she said, "I'm here, I know, don't worry."

Kui Kui asked, "Youyou, has the ambulance arrived yet?"

"not yet."

"Could you take two photos of Li Ke'er now and send them to me? I want to see her wrists and ankles."

"good!"

"Keep this amulet with you when we return!"

"Yes, I've got it! You and Lulu, please be careful too." Wu Youyou hung up the phone and opened her camera.

Clutching the wallet containing the amulet in one hand and holding her phone in the other, she slowly walked up to the third and a half floor.

A few seconds later, Xia Menglu's phone received five MMS photos.

The first picture is a full-body shot, while the following four are close-ups of the wrists and ankles.

Li Ke'er lay on her back on the floor at the corner of the stairs, her arms and legs forming a swastika shape.

Because there were no external injuries, it presented an absurd and eerie feeling.

Kui Kui's gaze immediately focused on the following photos.

Although the resolution is low, it couldn't escape the eyes of the little white dog on her shoulder.

“Kui, like Wang Duoyu, also has red marks on her wrists and ankles.”

Xia Menglu said, "Teacher Zhao, could this be a ruse by Li Ke'er?"

Zhao Xiaoying wasn't sure either, and just then her phone rang.

As soon as she answered the call, she heard the dean yelling.

"Zhao Xiaoying, what's wrong with you? Two students got into trouble in one night on the first day of school! You can forget about getting an excellent performance review this year!"

"Don't worry about school matters for the next few days. Just stay at the hospital! Make sure to calm the parents down!"

Zhao Xiaoying nodded in agreement.

She has no time to think about performance evaluations now; she thinks this whole thing is too bizarre.

She actually hoped it was a ruse by Li Ke'er.

However, Kui Kui's words were a resounding slap in the face to her.

"It wasn't a self-inflicted injury ploy. Like Wang Duoyu, she was probably harmed by the same thing."
