Chapter 89 Two Hands

The tomb chamber is a rectangular brick tomb, decorated mainly with murals, which are more complete than the murals on both sides of the passageway outside the tomb.

Kui Kui frowned slightly and looked up at the top of the tomb.

The top of the tomb is square and decorated with auspicious clouds and cranes.

Lang Yue, who had been observing Kui Kui's every move, asked in confusion, "What's wrong? Have you discovered something?"

"Judging from the structure and craftsmanship of the tomb, it is indeed a Yuan Dynasty tomb, but the murals are a bit strange."

After looking around like Kui Kui, Qingfengzi said, "There's nothing strange about it! The top is decorated with cranes and auspicious clouds, and the middle should depict the clothing, food, housing, and transportation of the tomb's occupant."

"From bottom to top, it should represent the transition of the tomb owner from the world of life to the world of death, ascending to heaven and becoming blissful. That makes perfect sense!"

"And look, the tomb owner must have been an official. Isn't the image of this official the same as that of the God of Wealth?"

Kui Kui shook his head, staring intently at the murals on the tomb wall, and said, "It's precisely because they're the same that there's a problem."

"The official robes of each dynasty have their own characteristics, and they differ in style, color, and material."

“The official hat is naturally part of the official attire. These two thin and long hairpins are called straight-legged turbans, which were unique to the Song Dynasty.”

Mao Junjie frowned, stroked his chin, and said, "It's quite strange that a Song official was buried in a Yuan tomb."

Qingfengzi said, "Whether it's strange or not, let's find the person first."

He spoke as if he were reckless, but he took every step with extreme caution, constantly paying attention to the changes around him.

Kui Kui and the other two followed closely behind.

The first tomb chamber was empty; neither the coffin nor any burial objects were found.

The group groped their way forward along the passageway, and soon they came to a fork in the road.

Kui Kui recalled the documents he had read and said, "The structure of Yuan Dynasty tombs is generally a symmetrical main tomb chamber, where the male and female owners are buried separately."

Lang Yue sniffed and said, "The smell is stronger on the left. We should go to the left."

Kui Kui narrowed his eyes and made another judgment: "Gou Dan should be in the right-hand tomb chamber."

Qingfengzi thought for a moment, then took out a pair of bells and gave one of them to Kuikui.

"We made a bet before we came. Now that we have different opinions, let's go our separate ways."

"Langyue and I will go to the left chamber, you go to the right."

"If you encounter danger, ring this soul-chasing bell. The person holding the other bell will sense it."

"Okay." Kui Kui agreed and walked with Mao Junjie toward the right-hand passageway.

The passageway was short, and in just a few minutes, the two arrived at the tomb chamber at the end.

In the very center of the tomb chamber was a coffin, and nothing else.

There was no other way out except through the passage we came from.

"call!"

Suddenly, a gust of cold wind blew in, and the torches in Kui Kui and Mao Junjie's hands went out.

The tomb was shrouded in darkness, so dark that one could not see their own hand in front of their face.

"Kui Kui, don't be afraid! Your martial uncle will protect you."

Mao Junjie spread his arms wide and shouted, "What kind of evil spirit dares to frighten Grandpa Mao!"

The next second, he saw Kui Kui with a green glow on his face, and was so frightened that he almost threw the torch stick in his hand away.

Kui Kui found the flashlight that came with his phone. The green wallpaper screen dimmed, leaving only a white light shining on the coffin.

The white light slowly swept across the top of the tomb, revealing a broken hole.

"Uncle-Master, it's not some evil spirit, it's just the wind blowing down from above."

Mao Junjie swallowed hard, took out his phone, and, imitating Kui Kui, turned on the flashlight.

"Aoi, do you think Gou Dan might have escaped through that hole?"

"He should still be here."

As Kui Kui approached the coffin, Mao Junjie immediately understood her meaning.

"Aoi, are you saying that Gou Dan is in this coffin?"

Kui Kui nodded and said, "There's nowhere else here to hide someone."

"I trust you. Leave this physical work to me!"

"May you enjoy boundless blessings and longevity, Heavenly Venerable."

Mao Junjie used his hands to push the coffin lid open a crack.

Just as he was about to press on, a pair of small hands suddenly reached out from the coffin and grabbed onto the coffin lid.
