Chapter 99 Immortal Family Phone Call

Seeing the change in Kui Kui's eyes, from surprise to understanding, Mo Ye knew he had been tricked.

Since Kui Kui has feelings about it, it's not some unspeakable past.

He sorted through his recently recovered memories and said slowly, "In your past life, you were a descendant of Nuwa. When the world was in turmoil, you sacrificed yourself to save all living beings."

Kui Kui nodded slightly, seemingly explaining the dream, yet it still felt very unfamiliar.

She slowly raised her head, met Mo Ye's gaze, and asked, "Did you destroy that world?"

Upon hearing this, Mo Ye was slightly taken aback, then a smile appeared on his lips.

The moment his smile blossomed, Kui Kui felt as radiant as the sun, making the world pale in comparison.

"Of course not. Back then, the war between the heavens and demons caused the world to shake, which led to Nuwa mending the sky."

Mo Ye paused, then brought his handsome face closer to Kui Kui.

His breath fell directly onto Kui Kui's fair and delicate cheeks.

He raised an eyebrow slightly and said, "Why do you think I caused the upheaval in the world? Do I look that bad?"

Kui Kui looked at Mo Ye, who was so close to him, and felt as if lightning had flashed through his mind. Suddenly, the person in front of him was so dazzling that he could not look directly at him, and the blood in his body rose to his face.

Mo Ye watched as her face flushed, her brows furrowed slightly, and her slender, long fingers gently stroked her forehead.

He asked gently, "Are you feeling unwell?"

Kui Kui immediately shrank back and whispered, "It's nothing." To change the subject, she told Mo Ye about her dream.

Mo Ye frowned slightly, his hand, which had been suspended in mid-air, did not retract. Instead, he continued to reach out towards Kui Kui, and gently flicked his finger on her forehead.

He said, slowly and deliberately, "If one day I were to destroy the world, it would mean that the world is beyond saving and therefore not worth your effort to save. Do not do anything foolish."

Kui Kui touched his forehead and nodded subconsciously.

Looking at her obedient appearance, Mo Ye unconsciously reached out and touched the top of her head.

He said softly, "I still have some things to take care of. The seed of spiritual power in your mind has already sprouted. Meditate well, cultivate well, and take good care of yourself."

Kui Kui had never seen Mo Ye so talkative before, and nodded in agreement.

It wasn't until Mo Ye left that she suddenly realized she hadn't asked him about her relationship with him in her past life.

She immediately felt relieved.

The past is gone, why dwell on what happened? Although Kui Kui still feels a little curious.

She got up, stretched, and walked out of the room.

The fresh mountain air filled my nostrils, giving my lungs a delightful surprise.

Kui Kui suddenly remembered that he had promised Wu Youyou that he would contact her after he went into the mountains.

Later, we went to the Upside-Down Village, where there was absolutely no signal. After spending the night in the tomb, my phone ran out of battery.

Kui Kui went back to her room and charged her phone.

After the phone was turned on, I heard a constant series of notification sounds, all of which were text messages from Wu Youyou.

"I've arrived at the Taoist temple. The name of this temple is really interesting; it's called the Temple of All Wish-Fulfilling. It's so down-to-earth. I thought Taoist temples were all ethereal and otherworldly!"

"My parents came here specifically to fulfill their vow, but it seems the abbot is out. Where are you? I'll come visit you!"

"Ai Kui, are you okay? Why aren't you replying to my messages? I'm a little worried about you."

"Aoi, are you there?"

"Kui Kui, is your phone dead? I tried calling you, but it's switched off... Please reply to my message as soon as you see it!"

Kui Kui smiled faintly, opened his phone's contact list, and prepared to dial Wu Youyou's number.

Just then, an unfamiliar number called, and Kui Kui's finger had already pressed the answer button and put the phone to her ear.

"An'an, are you coming home for dinner today?"

Kui Kui was taken aback. The voice coming from the other end of the phone wasn't Wu Youyou's, but that of a strange woman.

She picked up her phone and saw that the contact name was "Immortal".

Kui Kui suddenly remembered that this was the phone call from the spirit medium her mother had summoned with her life on that day.

She saved the phone number but didn't call it; the immortals' privacy was not something she could pry into.

I never expected that this call would come to me on my own initiative.
