Am I fragile?

Am I fragile?

At noon in the summer, in a classroom of a physics training camp, a girl kicked the door open with her arms folded, and the sleeping students were instantly awakened.

Everyone looked on in confusion, rather resentfully. The classroom, which should have been silent, suddenly erupted in waves of discussion.

Lin Yu sat in the corner, not paying any attention, and continued writing his own questions.

Someone called out, "Classmate, who are you?"

"That's a good question." The girl didn't disturb the others' anxiety, but instead had an inexplicable confidence. She stared in a certain direction and walked towards Lin Yu step by step.

She finally stopped by Lin Yu's desk.

As a photo was pressed on the table, Lin Yu looked up.

There was confusion in his eyes, "Who are you?"

"Auntie, let me tell you who I am!" The man raised his hand and slapped it towards Lin Yu's face. Lin Yu couldn't dodge in time, and a red mark immediately appeared on her face.

"Let me go." Lin Yu struggled to save her hair, but the man became more and more crazy and directly pulled Lin Yu from the seat to the floor.

All the photos were thrown at her. The man said in a stern voice, "Your father destroyed my family, so I'm letting his daughter suffer too. It's only fair." He laughed loudly, and everyone around him laughed too.

After an unknown amount of time, the teacher rushed in.

Lin Yu fell to the ground. She heard the teacher's gentle tone, "Didn't we say we'll take care of your mother's matter? Is that what you're going to use the badge for?"

"I was wrong, uncle." The girl was taken away by the teacher.

The classroom gradually emptied. Lin Yu looked at the photos scattered on the floor, clenching each one in her hand. The sharp edge of the photo paper scratched her knuckles.

The scene changed, and she was sitting in a conversation room, opposite the bishop.

"Go back. This path is no longer suitable for you. You can't go back to your previous state of mind."

The girl lowered her head and clasped her hands on her training uniform.

The picture shook and began to change again.

She appeared in a corridor, wearing the uniform of the No. 1 Middle School in the city, with her head lowered, almost walking close to the wall.

People were coming and going nearby, all talking about something in low voices.

"That's her, the mistress's daughter."

"If I'd been rejected twice, I'd be too embarrassed to go to school again. How could she still have the nerve to come?"

"The teacher said she was the pride of No. 1 Middle School. Now, let's not talk about it anymore. I think she's more of a disgrace than anything else."

"The college entrance exam is only a few days away. I wonder how she's going to catch up on her academic performance."

As the girl opened the door, all the sounds stopped abruptly.

Very quiet, very quiet, the fan is spinning.

Below the podium, the students raised their heads, some with doubts, some with ridicule, and some with sympathy.

Everyone was looking at her.

Suddenly, the girl knelt down like a mountain.

"I am guilty!"

Her voice was so loud that it almost pierced everyone's eardrums, and several class committee members rushed over to stop her.

She was still shouting, "I am guilty, I am stupid, I have brought shame to the school."

She was escorted offstage by the class committee. "But my test paper is innocent, my notes are innocent. You shouldn't have torn them up, you shouldn't have thrown them away. I beg you, please give me a chance to live. I'm really stupid. I'm no match for you now. I can't get into any of the universities you want to apply to. I'm a joke. I beg you!"

No! No! Don't kneel!

Lin Yu rushed to the girl and stretched out her hand towards her.

The girl also looked at her, her eyes were like the sea, filled with sorrow.

Just when Lin Yu was about to meet the girl, the dream came to an abrupt end.

In a daze, Lin Yu looked at the white ceiling, tears falling down.

"Xiaoyu?" Tao Xingye held her hand, "I'm here."

Who? Lin Yu glanced sideways. The man beside the bed was well-dressed. The warmth from his palm declared that this was reality.

And everything that just happened was a dream.

But, is it really a dream?

She looked at her wrist, and there was indeed a scar there, proclaiming that everything in the past was not a dream.

She tried desperately to get up, but she had no strength.

"You had surgery and were given anesthesia." Tao Xingye sat down on the edge of the bed, his eyes dark and blue, and he smelled strongly of alcohol.

Lin Yu wanted him to come closer, she wanted him to hug her.

She opened her arms towards him, a small movement that Tao Xingye caught.

He leaned over and hugged her gently, "Don't cry."

"Am I...am I...weak?" She spoke unclearly and spitted out these words intermittently.

But then, tears started to flow again.

She had something important to tell Tao Xingye, and if she didn't say it now, it would be too late.

But she couldn't utter a complete sentence anymore, and she was about to collapse in anxiety.

She thought she was really fragile.

Not only psychologically, but now also physically fragile.

She hated herself like this.

She shook her head at Tao Xingye.

"You're not fragile." Tao Xingye smiled as he combed her hair. "You're the strongest person I've ever met."

He seemed to have thousands of words to say, yet also seemed to have thousands of words left unsaid.

His eyes didn't focus on anyone, and his hands touched her hair and her cheeks. "Not fragile." He threw himself on Lin Yu, and Lin Yu could actually hear some trembling in his rough voice. "Lin Yu, promise me one thing."

He held Lin Yu's hand solemnly and said, "I want you to never be fragile."

Tao Xingye turned his head and moved his hand.

When he turned back, a smile was on his face again, his eyes red and purple. "I've arranged for surgery abroad for you. Now that you're awake, I'll arrange a flight for you. Just hold on, and we'll fly to Germany today, okay?"

Lin Yu nodded. She was eager to let Tao Xingye know that she would agree to his words.

"As for me, I'll stay in China for now. After all, I have to earn money for your medical expenses, right?"

An inexplicable loneliness emerged in his eyes, and the corners of his mouth twitched unconsciously.

That kind of expression can only be seen on someone who is trying hard to hold back tears.

Tao Xingye hunched his back, and although he was dressed neatly, something was different about him.

Lin Yu wanted to ask him what was wrong, but he just smiled.

Seeing him smile like that, Lin Yu could only smile as well.

After all, she must look scary now.

She vomited so much blood, it must have been horrible. Now that the operation is over, her face must be very pale, she has to smile.

She had to let Tao Xingye know that she was not in any pain and was fine.

Tao Xingye's mouth twitched again. He turned around quickly and spoke after about half a minute, "I... went to contact the plane."

He stood up and took long, steady steps.

The windbreaker on his body swayed with his steps, and his wrists were terribly thin, not at all like what a normal adult man should look like.

Lin Yu felt inexplicably uneasy, and she raised her hand to flip something over.

Tao Xingye turned around, but did not come back.

He opened the door and backed out, stopping at the door. "Wait, I'll be there soon."

He began to smile again, and the dimples on his face made him look like he was surrounded by a tree of pear blossoms falling in the wind and rain, beautiful yet desolate.

He closed the door and the ward became quiet again.

Lin Yu was laughing when she suddenly became frightened. She kept throwing things down to try to get Tao Xingye to come back, but the door never opened again.

He won't be here then, he won't be coming back at all.

He has such high self-esteem, why would he be willing to take the initiative to bring up the medical expenses in front of her?

Lin Yu was almost out of breath. She suddenly realized that her husband had encountered a difficult situation that could ruin his life...

She, she hates it so much.

I hate her for being bedridden, I hate her for letting Tao Xingye leave like this...

Lin Yu was tied to the bed with a restraint belt. The slight amount of sedative was enough to make her lose all her energy at this moment.

She was pushed onto the plane, which was reserved just for her, and the entire crew was on standby.

As the plane took off, she finally couldn't help crying.

Wu You rushed over and tried to comfort her, but she didn't say anything, just looked out the window. There, Jincheng was getting smaller and smaller, until it completely disappeared and merged into the vast white earth.

Tao Xingye drove home alone and hugged Tao Damai tightly.

For the rest of his life, Lin Yu would be his ex-wife on his household registration.

He and the girl he fell in love with when he was young will never have any connection with each other in this life.

He opened the window, his tears turned into ice, and he reached out to grab a wisp of wind outside the window.

Tao Xinghai walked behind him and handed him the contract. "Tao Xingguo asked you to take care of these companies again. If he is released from prison and you haven't restored these companies to their previous state, he will still withdraw all the surgical arrangements for Lin Yu."

Tao Xinghai sat down casually beside him and lit a cigarette. "You decide when Yao Ming Jiansheng returns to Wanyun Group, but you also know Tao Xingguo's requirements. He wants to hear the news he wants to hear at the press conference."

Tao Xinghai glanced at his brother, frowning as he stood up and closed the window. "If you die, Lin Yu won't be able to live either. Apart from Tao Xingguo, neither you nor I can let Mr. Mai risk ruining his reputation by operating on a stranger."

"She asked me if she was fragile." Tao Xingye's eyes moved from left to right with a hollow expression, and finally fear slowly spread out. "She will hold on, right?"

When Tao Xinghai didn't answer, he went to ask Tao Damai again.

No one would answer him, so he started answering himself.

"She will definitely be able to hold on. I know that. She doesn't like me that much. She and I have just been together for a long time. She will definitely hold on. She will definitely do it. Besides, we have an agreement."

Tao Xingye sat on the ground, swaying from side to side. Tao Xinghai wondered if his brother had mistaken the cat for Lin Yu.

He remembered the agreement with Luo Youqiong, stood up somewhat ruthlessly, and placed a pair of rings on the table.

"This ring is custom-made to Miss Xu's size. Remember to put it on her on the day of the press conference. The Tao family has invited many media outlets, and they will all make headlines congratulating you and Miss Xu. And everyone in Jincheng will know that you, Tao Xingye, have returned to the Tao family."
