It’s so hot, so hot!

It’s so hot, so hot!

"Lin Yu!"

"Lin Yu!"

The voice became louder and louder. Lin Yu suddenly opened his eyes and saw the ceiling. There was another shout. Lin Yu closed his eyes, then suddenly opened them again when he thought of something. He stood up and pushed open the window.

"What time is it and you're still sleeping!" Downstairs, Tao Xingye was wearing a white down jacket with a red scarf around his neck. He put his hands in his pockets and looked up at her.

The wind and snow had just stopped. His cheeks were red from the cold, but his eyes were sparkling and he was breathing out hot air as he spoke.

Even when Tao Xingye sat in the living room, Lin Yu was still a little confused. It was New Year's Day, and it wasn't even eight o'clock yet, so why was Tao Xingye already at her house?

It takes at least an hour to get from the city to her home, not to mention the snow on the road.

"You didn't get up at six to rush here, did you?"

"You're overthinking it!" Tao Xingye immediately denied it, raising his eyebrows and crossing his legs, as if he was the master of the house. "Hey, don't you have anything you want to tell me?"

He had an aggressive expression, but his eyes were bright, as childish as a child asking for New Year's gifts.

Lin Yu was stumped by his question. Did she have anything to say to him?

After thinking for a while, Lin Yu poured him a cup of hot water and said, "Happy New Year."

Tao Xingye's face froze immediately, and he stared at her gloomily, but not as scary as before. He finally took his hand out of his pocket, "Where's my letter!"

He hasn't come to see her for so long, doesn't she want to ask herself if she is still angry?

Tao Xingye raised the hot water to his lips but did not drink it. He secretly looked at Lin Yu.

"I haven't written anything." Actually, there were some, but she was too lazy to sort them out now. After all, Tao Xingye didn't tell her any news about Jiang Shuang.

"You're so confident even though you didn't write anything!" Tao Xingye unzipped his down jacket, pulled out a box from his arms, threw it on the table, and said angrily, "Let's go!"

He left Lin Yu's house as if he knew the way. By the time Lin Yu realized what was happening, he was gone.

It was a not-so-small box, almost three palms wide, and he just stuffed it into his arms.

When I opened it, I found many pearl hairpins and a greeting card. On the back of the card were written six words in a flamboyant style: "Happy New Year, Lin Yu."

She suddenly felt a little at a loss as she held the greeting card. Was this still the Tao Xingye she knew?

On the other side, Tao Xingye was scolded by Tao Xingguo as soon as he got home, "You still remember to come back? I said we would go to pay New Year's greetings at 9 o'clock, but look at what time it is now!"

Tao Xingye was in a good mood at the time and let Tao Xingguo scold him. However, Tao Xinghai spoke up and said a few words to Tao Xingye.

Tao Xingye couldn't find time to visit Lin Yu during the entire Spring Festival. They didn't see each other again until the second week after school started.

Lin Yu asked about Jiang Shuang's news as soon as she opened her mouth, and Tao Xingye wondered why she was so brooding over Jiang Shuang.

He was not happy to see Lin Yu like this. He spoke about Jiang Shuang's news in a disjointed manner, depending entirely on his mood.

He was getting busier and busier, and the time we met changed from once every two weeks to once every two months.

The high school entrance examination was over, but Tao Xingye's real exam had just begun. For three consecutive weeks, he flew everywhere and finally finished all the matters related to studying abroad.

He ran to find Lin Yu again. He remembered the scene that afternoon very clearly.

He was running along the country path, sweating profusely, and the heat was so intense that he was getting angry.

He called and scolded the housekeeper for the crappy information he had found for him. He had almost searched the entire farm but still couldn't find Lin Yu.

"Are you reliable or not?" He put his hands on his waist and lifted his T-shirt by the collar. He narrowed his eyes and suddenly caught a familiar figure.

The girl was barefoot, her waist bent almost parallel to the ground, following behind the harvester to pick up something, and she was wearing a straw hat on her head.

"Lin Yu?" He roared half-doubtfully.

The man stood up and turned to look at him.

Tao Xingye was completely certain that the black girl in front of him was Lin Yu. "Why are you so dark after drying the soy sauce?"

The fields were littered with husks of wheat, and he was choking and kept shaking his hands, trying to drive away the impurities in the air.

"How did you find this place?" Lin Yu jumped onto the dirt road, dusted off his body and walked over.

"Lin Xiaomai, do you think the name I gave you is quite appropriate?" Tao Xingye folded his arms and looked down at her.

After not seeing her for two months, she has grown a lot taller.

"Take me to rest, I'm dying of heat." His skin was sunburned red. Although he was a boy, he was even more sun-resistant than Lin Yu.

Lin Yu was too lazy to take him back. His hometown was so far away, and it would take so much time to go back and forth.

"Why don't you sit under the tree for a while? I'm busy picking wheat ears." Lin Yu said as he took out a handful of wheat ears from the basket slung over his body. "This is it."

"..." Lin Yu dared to treat him perfunctorily like this! Tao Xingye glared at Lin Yu, wanting to get angry but seeing the sweat on her forehead, he finally held back, but couldn't help feeling a little angry, "Don't make me wait too long!"

He turned his eyes away and walked sideways to the tree in a few steps. Lin Yu almost died of laughter looking at his hesitant back.

"I forgot that I didn't bring a stool today. Mr. Tao, why don't you sit on the ground for a while?" Lin Yu tilted his head as if watching a good show.

Tao Xingye blinked and had to admit that some people with dark skin were quite beautiful.

He still had a look of disdain on his face, raised his lip and sat down on the ground.

He was wearing a white T-shirt and jeans that day. When he sat down, the hem of his shirt rose up, revealing the black leather belt around his waist.

He has had a good-looking appearance since he was young. He held his wrists casually on his legs with his back straight.

It was a very impactful scene. A clean young man was sitting quietly under a tree beside the field, not talking or looking around, just sitting there.

Lin Yu originally thought that he would not be able to sit for a while and would run back to the city in shame, but he actually sat like that for the entire afternoon.

After finishing work in the evening, Lin Yu suddenly felt embarrassed when he saw Tao Xingye, whose posture had hardly changed, and he kindly took him back to his hometown.

"You're doing this during your summer vacation?" Tao Xingye's tone was a bit exaggerated and incredulous. This fuss made Lin Yu very embarrassed, as if she was doing something shameful.

"There's no one at my grandma's house, so I came back to help her." Lin Yu rubbed the wheat ashes between his palms, and all the pores on his body felt stuffy as if they were blocked.

"Then you are quite awesome." Tao Xingye's voice was unusually calm. There was no questioning, no yelling, no sarcasm, only the simplest praise.

How could Tao Xingye say this? He was the one who mocked me with wheat.

The two of them walked to the old house without realizing it. As soon as Lin Yu knocked on the door, grandma opened it. With only a few teeth left in her mouth, she looked at Lin Yu and smiled with satisfaction.

"Xiaoyu, are you tired? Grandma made your favorite braised pork." The old woman was old and her eyes were squinting and she couldn't see clearly.

It wasn't until Tao Xingye spoke that she realized there was another person. She subconsciously grabbed her granddaughter's hand to protect her, "Who are you?"

Tao Xingye was amused and said, "I'm Lin Yu, I'm here to play with her."

The old lady was relieved and let go of Lin Yu's hand. "Welcome, welcome. We don't have much to offer here, but you dare not laugh at my little Yu'ang."

"Of course not!" Tao Xingye took his grandmother's arm in a very familiar manner and helped her into the house.

Lin Yu looked at Tao Xingye with some strangeness. It was like he had become a different person.

At the dinner table, Tao Xingye changed from his previous calm and sharp-tongued self, and chattered like a funny guy, making Grandma Lin Yu laugh.

After dinner, he rushed to wash the dishes. This is really abnormal.

After helping grandma go back to rest, Lin Yu finally couldn't help but asked, "What on earth are you going to do!"

"What are you doing?" Tao Xingye asked nonchalantly, "I like grandma, so what's wrong with talking to her a few more times?"

He drained a few bowls and handed them to Lin Yu, "Put them away yourself."

At night, Lin Yu took a mosquito net to make the bed for Tao Xingye. After Tao Xingye finished taking a shower, he saw Lin Yu half-kneeling beside the bed with his head covered by the mosquito net.

The white mosquito net is like a veil, and except that it is a little rough, everything else is very similar.

Lin Yu didn't notice him coming and was busy looking for the head, but the situation became more and more chaotic and she was completely entangled.

"Don't move." Tao Xingye pulled up a corner, reached inside, and took it out for Lin Yu.

He was tall and strong, and he hung up the mosquito net in no time.

Grandma Lin Yu's house has a very traditional and simple iron bed, and even the mattress is a hard palm mattress.

Tao Xingye had never suffered such hardship since he was a child, but he jumped into the mosquito net excitedly that day, still wearing the mismatched pajamas that Lin Yu had found for him, and lay on the bed with his legs crossed happily.

Lin Yu pulled out a small fan and pointed it at him. The fan was spinning, and Lin Yu was immediately enveloped by a deep sleepiness after a tiring day.

She didn't notice and fell asleep at the head of the bed.

Tao Xingye was calling Lin Yu to ask what the green bug outside the window was, but no one responded after he called several times.

When I looked back, I found that Lin Yu had fallen asleep.

He moved closer and closer through the mosquito net, until there was only less than two fingers' distance between them.

The cicadas in the poplar trees outside the window chirped, and the noise was so deafening that he could hear waves of auditory hallucinations. He could even hear the sound of his own heartbeat, getting closer and closer...

"What are you doing?" Lin Yu suddenly opened his eyes, looked at Tao Xingye who was close to him, and stood up straight with his eyes wide open.

Just now they were only a few millimeters apart, their lips almost touching. What was he going to do?

Lin Yu didn't think that Tao Xingye wanted to kiss her. He despised her so much, so why would he take the initiative to contact her?

"I'm dying of heat!" Tao Xingye hurriedly lay down on the bed with his back turned. It was clearly visible that his back was wet with sweat.

Is it really that hot? Lin Yu moved the fan forward again. "Is it still hot now?"

"It's so hot, so hot! It's so hot!" Tao Xingye held his breath and had nowhere to vent. "What a lousy place this is! There's not even air conditioning."

However, he regretted it as soon as he said it, "That's not what I meant..."

Lin Yu knew that it was not as comfortable here as in the city.

"If you're really that hot, I have another way." Lin Yu looked up at him. There wasn't much emotion in her eyes, but it seemed as if she was really giving him advice.
