Chapter 15 A Good Man is Like Finding Gold in Shit

After accompanying Grandma Su to a welcoming banquet, Qin Yi left Qing City.

After seeing Qin Yi off, Chen He bought half a watermelon at an imported fruit store outside the community.

As soon as he entered the house and saw the neatly tidy apartment, he immediately exclaimed: "Grandma, you are my snail girl."

Grandma Su told Chen He the story of the Snail Girl and knew that Chen He was praising her for being hardworking and virtuous.

Grandma Su said with a gloomy sound, "I'm not as stupid as her. I'd rather be a fairy and do laundry and cooking for a man as a slave."

Thinking of the detours she had taken, Grandma Su couldn't help but teach Chen He a lesson: "Miao Miao, you worked hard to get into university and opened your own studio. You must work hard on your career and realize your own life value. Don't be as stupid as the snail girl, understand?"

She is obviously a fairy, but she is so eager to cook for men. If she were the parents of the snail girl, she would be so angry that she would vomit blood.

"Don't worry, grandma, I will never be blinded by love." The painful experience of the previous life is still vivid in her mind, and Chen He will not be blinded by love again.

Looking at Chen He's young and beautiful face, Grandma Su seemed to see her in her youth.

"When grandma was young, she fell in love with your grandpa at first sight and rushed to marry him like a dog. But how did he treat me?"

When Grandma Su mentioned Chen He's grandfather, she felt so angry that her teeth itched.

Chen He's grandfather is Shen Zhenkun, the only college student in the village.

During his sophomore year, Shen Zhenkun's father died in an accident, leaving only his hemiplegic mother at home.

In desperation, Shen Zhenkun chose to drop out of school and go home to take care of his mother. This move made him a well-known filial son in the surrounding area.

After Shen's mother passed away, Shen Zhenkun met Su Jin, the daughter of rural doctor Su Qi, through a matchmaker.

Su Qi and his daughter were educated youth from City A. Although their family was poor, Su Qi was an educated man and was proficient in medicine.

Su Jin is also a beautiful woman with bright eyes and white teeth.

Shen Zhenkun was very satisfied with Su Jin, and they got married smoothly. Only one year after their marriage, Su Jin gave birth to their son Shen Guanghui.

As the only college student in the village, Shen Zhenkun had high aspirations. He went to the city alone to make a living when his child was just one month old.

He was away for five years, and only came back once during that time, when his father-in-law Su Qi passed away.

One summer five years later, Su Jin went to the next village to visit a patient with a medicine box on his back. Passing by a cornfield, he was dragged into the cornfield by a bachelor from the neighboring village.

Su Jin finally knocked the man unconscious with great effort and ran away. When people from the neighboring village saw her running out of the cornfield with disheveled clothes, they all thought she had cheated on him with a strange man.

Su Jin tried to explain in every possible way, but no one believed her.

Not long after, the news of Su Jin's infidelity reached Shen Zhenkun's ears.

On a hot afternoon, Shen Zhenkun returned to his hometown.

With the village party secretary and the entire production team as witnesses, Shen Zhenkun said bitterly, "Su Jin, your affair with Xie Da from the neighboring village has made me a laughing stock in the village. I can no longer hold my head up high in my hometown."

"However, I've been away for five years since I went to work in the city, leaving you alone in the empty house and raising the children. I'm also at fault. This has already happened, and talking about it will only embarrass you and me."

"Su Jin, all the houses and properties of my Shen family belong to you, but Guanghui is my Shen family's child, he has to follow me."

"Let's get a divorce!"

Shen Zhenkun is a well-known filial son. He proposed to leave the house and take only his son. In the eyes of the whole village, Su Jin was taking advantage of him.

Poor Su Jin had no way to defend herself. She clearly had not cheated, but she was branded a slut and ended up getting divorced and losing her son.

After the divorce, Shen Zhenkun took Shen Guanghui away from home.

But within six months, Su Jin heard that Shen Zhenkun had remarried. His partner was the daughter of the steel plant director, a university student named Zhong...

Shen He knew these things.

But the more outrageous thing was yet to come. Su Jin told Chen He, "Fourteen years ago, Xie Da went up the mountain to chop wood and fell and broke his head. He had no money to treat his illness, so he was carried to my door and begged me to treat him."

"He's the one who ruined my life. Even though I'm a doctor, and doctors have a compassionate heart, I wasn't willing to help him. Seeing that I was so cruel and didn't want to help him, Xie Da finally told me the truth about what happened back then."

After many years, when Su Jin talked about the old things again, his eyes were still filled with tears of grief and anger.

Su Jin gnashed her teeth and cursed, "So, Shen Zhenkun has long had his eyes on the women of the Zhong family. He wants both a good reputation and a good future. Since he couldn't find a reason to divorce me, he deliberately found Xie Da and instructed him to find an opportunity to discredit me!"

"This is the man I once loved. In order to rise to prominence, he deliberately hired someone to defile his wife's innocence."

"He enjoyed all the glory and wealth, but I became a slut known to everyone." Thinking of the grievances she had suffered in her life, Su Jin wanted to dig up Shen Zhenkun's grave and whip his corpse.

"However, when I think about how that bastard was tortured beyond recognition by illness before he died, I feel a little comforted."

But this little bit of comfort is far from enough to make up for the injustice Su Jin suffered.

As a bystander, Chen He felt distressed when listening to Su Jin's story, let alone Su Jin herself.

Chen He hugged her grandmother's shoulders distressedly and asked her: "Grandma, why didn't you tell me these things before?"

"You were still young then, so it wasn't appropriate to say these things. But now you're grown up and in love, so there's nothing you can't say."

"Miao Miao." Su Jin warned Chen He in a serious tone: "I admit that there are still good men in this world. But the probability of us meeting a good man is like panning for gold in shit."
