Qin Yi sat on the coffee table in the old house all night, her nerves tense.
It was not until dawn that the cell phone began to buzz. Qin Yi picked up the call hesitantly and heard the voice of her immediate boss, Li Xingtu.
"Qin Yi, congratulations on successfully completing the mission. My car is parked downstairs in the community, you can come and see me."
Qin Yi tightened her grip on the phone, "I'm coming."
After hanging up the phone, Qin Yi walked to the balcony hand in hand. Looking at the magnificent dawn in the east, she could no longer hold back and squatted on the ground, hugging her knees and bursting into tears.
Three years.
She survived a near-death experience and took great pains to gain Xie Jinghong's complete trust, and she finally completed the task.
More than ten minutes later, Qin Yi came downstairs.
It rained for half the night before and the ground was still wet, but the morning light had already spread across the earth.
As Qin Yi walked downstairs of the residential complex, she saw Li Xingtu leaning against the front of the car, biting a cigarette, and patiently waiting for her.
Qin Yi walked towards Li Xingtu with heavy steps.
"Uncle Li."
Li Xingtu stared at Qin Yi's haggard and exhausted face, silently put out his cigarette, walked over and hugged Qin Yi tightly, choking and saying, "You've suffered a lot, Xiaoyi."
Qin Yi burst into tears.
"It's still early, I'll treat you to breakfast."
"Um."
Morning tea culture is popular in Hong Kong, and the breakfast is rich and delicious. Qin Yi didn't have much of an appetite, but under Li Xingtu's watchful gaze, she gritted her teeth and ate until she was about 80% full.
After finishing his meal, Li Xingtu walked out of the tea restaurant and looked up at the rising morning light for a long while. Suddenly, he said, "Come with me to the Martyrs' Cemetery."
Qin Yi was about to ask something when Li Xingtu said, "Your father's cenotaph is buried in the Martyrs' Cemetery in Gangcheng."
Qin Yi was stunned.
Li Xingtu drove Qin Yi personally to the Martyrs' Cemetery in Gangcheng.
It is said that cemeteries are filled with gloomy atmosphere and ghosts cry even during the day, but the martyrs' cemetery is just the opposite. The heroic souls of the martyrs rest here, giving people a feeling of heaviness, solemnity and respect.
This martyrs' cemetery is built on the hillside, with a memorial tower on the top. The old martyrs' monuments are all monuments to revolutionary martyrs from the early years.
Most of the tombstones sent here in the new era are relatively new.
Qin's father's tombstone was hidden behind the pile of new tombstones. There were only five short words on it:
Martyr Qin Chaoyang.
Other than that, clean.
"During his 23 years in the service, your father conducted 17 undercover operations, large and small, successfully completing 16 missions and failing once."
"He made a distinguished name throughout his life. In the field of drug enforcement, his codename, 'Night Owl,' is well-known."
Li Xingtu lowered his eyes and looked at Qin Yi. He subconsciously raised his head and chest, and said with great pride: "The only mission he failed in was completed by you for him last night."
"I still remember your answer three years ago when I came to you and asked if you were willing to cooperate with us on this undercover mission."
"You said that it is your honor to inherit your father's business."
Li Xingtu sighed, "From now on, you will be your father's greatest glory."
Qin Yi turned her head and wiped away her tears.
"This time, we successfully captured Mr. Chuan and Xie Jinghong. As long as we can find concrete evidence of this criminal group's crimes in our country, we will strike back and dismantle this criminal group without mercy!"
"When the time comes, I will ask them where your father is buried and bring his soul back home."
Hearing this, Qin Yi sighed, "My father was executed by Zhou Kun himself. He died abroad. I'm afraid his body has long been..."
Qin Yi didn't have high expectations for this, but she was still very grateful for Li Xingtu's kindness. "Uncle Li, thank you for your hard work."
"Thank you for your hard work, too."
Li Xingtu said, "Go back to Qing City. Rest well at home. We will also send people to secretly protect you."
"Oh right." Li Xingtu looked at Qin Yi's abdomen. His expression became melancholy. He asked Qin Yi, "This child..."
"I won't give birth to him." Qin Yi's eyes were red, but her heart was firm. She said, "I know this child is innocent, but as long as I think about giving birth to the blood of a drug dealer in my belly, I will never forgive myself."
"This child..."
Qin Yi sniffed and said, "I'll go back to Qing City and make an appointment for surgery."
Hearing this, Li Xingtu was also very melancholy.
After a while, he sighed, "If you can't love him well, then giving birth to him is indeed irresponsible. It's just hard for you, Xiaoyi."
Qin Yi said nothing, followed Li Xingtu silently out of the cemetery and returned to Qing City.

At night, eight o'clock.
Chen He stayed in the studio to work overtime. Xie Ting suddenly opened the door and walked in, telling her: "Boss Chen, someone is looking for you downstairs."
"It's a young lady, surnamed Qin."
Chen He suddenly looked up and asked Xie Ting: "Qin Yi?"
Xie Ting shook her head. "She didn't say her name. I saw that she wasn't in a good mood. She looked very tired and sad."
Chen He immediately turned off the computer, quickly tidied up the desk, and walked out with his briefcase, telling Xie Ting: "Everyone should get off work early. I'm leaving first."
Xie Ting nodded repeatedly.

Qin Yi sat on the sofa in the reception hall, still wearing the skirt she wore yesterday, which was wrinkled and stuck to her body.
She huddled in the corner of the sofa, exuding a sense of dejection.
Jun Lin noticed her first when he got off work.
"...Qin Yi?"
Jun Lin was surprised to see Qin Yi, whose appearance and temperament had changed greatly after not seeing her for several months.
