Chapter 28: Choice
Looking up at the person sitting opposite her, Zhong Nianyao raised her eyebrows but did not speak first.
"Little girl, are you good at fortune-telling?"
Sitting there was a young woman about thirty years old. There was a hint of confusion on her face. She sat there, not knowing what she was thinking about, and seemed a little absent-minded.
"Since you're sitting down, you must be confused." Zhong Nianyao looked at the person opposite her and asked directly, "Do you want a fortune-teller? I only tell fortunes to those who are destined to be with me! I tell fortunes three times a day, and today is your first one. I can tell you for free!"
Liu Xinping didn't know why she sat down. Perhaps it was because her heart was full of confusion and she urgently needed someone to point her in a direction.
"I--"
As soon as she opened her mouth, Liu Xinping couldn't help but smile bitterly. She was really desperate and tried every possible means. The other party was just a young girl, how could she know how to tell fortunes?
Thinking of this, she couldn't help but stand up and prepare to leave. However, just as she stood up, the other party spoke.
"Since you can't figure it out, why not ask for a divination? It won't waste much of your time." Zhong Nianyao said with a faint smile, "Besides, aren't you looking for someone to point you in a direction now?"
After hearing Zhong Nianyao's words, Liu Xinping's eyes widened and her pupils shrank slightly, "You know?"
From beginning to end, she had only said one sentence, not revealing any other information about herself. But this young girl in front of her had hit the nail on the head. Was this just a coincidence, or did this girl really have some skills?
Sitting down again, Liu Xinping looked at Zhong Nianyao, "Do you know what I want to calculate?"
"You're facing a choice now. No matter which one you choose, it will be a major change in your life." Zhong Nianyao glanced at Liu Xinping's face, then smiled and said, "But if you believe in me, then listen to my advice. No matter what, you are the only one who can support you."
"Are you saying that I should choose to leave?" Liu Xinping murmured to herself in a low voice, not knowing whether she was talking to herself or to the person opposite her.
She'd been feeling confused these days. She was at a critical juncture in her life, facing a crucial decision. The company had sent her abroad to develop business, and upon her return in three years, she'd be promoted directly to manager, entering management. However, her boyfriend had also proposed to her. Once they got married, she couldn't afford to be away for three years.
Now she was faced with the choice between love and career, and she really didn't know what to do. That was why she sat down in front of this stall just now.
"This is your own life, you make your own choice," Zhong Nianyao shook her head and continued, "But, you've already made up your mind, haven't you?"
She could tell from the woman's face that her current marriage wasn't destined for her true love. If she chose to stay, the marriage would end in divorce after a year due to the man's infidelity. However, if she chose career, she would reach the pinnacle of her career, meet her true love in another city, and live a happy life.
"I--" Liu Xinping was still a little hesitant, not knowing what to do.
"Listen to the voice in your heart. Nothing is more important than yourself. No matter when or where, only when you are strong, that is the most important thing."
After hearing what Zhong Nian Yao said, Liu Xinping's originally wavering heart suddenly calmed down, and she also knew her decision.
"Okay, little girl, I understand." She looked at Zhong Nianyao who was sitting there, and then asked, "How much is it per divination? I'll pay."
She had already decided that she would choose a career. This was a rare opportunity, and she would not give it up.
Regardless of whether the other party was truly capable, he still helped her a lot and made her determined. So she felt that she still had to pay the divination fee.
"No thanks." Zhong Nianyao shook her head. "Since it's free, then it must be free. If you really want to give, then please donate the money!"
After hearing what Zhong Nianyao said, Liu Xinping stopped trying to give money. "Okay, then I'll donate it tomorrow! Anyway, little girl, thank you so much."
After saying that, Liu Xinping got up and left.
Unlike the heaviness she felt when she came, now even her steps were relaxed.
Not long after Liu Xinping left, another ordinary-looking, overweight man with a stern look on his face appeared in front of her stall. He looked more like someone looking for trouble than a fortuneteller.
"Want a fortune teller?"
