Chapter 449: Hiring a Killer
Zhong Nianyao was not in a good mood after the accident and went home directly. However, she did not tell Mr. Zhong and Mrs. Zhong about the accident at the school gate. She did not want to make the two old people worry about her.

"Not yet." Han Xin shook his head. "The driver's blood alcohol level was 320mg/100mL, far exceeding the drunk driving limit of 80mg/100mL. After he woke up, he kept insisting that he was drunk and unconscious, which is why he almost hit someone."
Zhong Nianyao was not surprised by this. "Okay, I know everything you said."

Surveillance footage can't be used as direct evidence. The driver's blood alcohol content was already seriously above the legal limit. If he insists that he was driving under the influence, then that's the only way to go. He can't be prosecuted for intentional homicide. The procuratorate is unlikely to agree to that either.
Most importantly, there was no connection between the driver and Zhong Nianyao. At least, they hadn't found any connection yet.
"No matter what crime you commit, it's useless." Zhong Nianyao shook her head. "Even if that driver really killed me today, even if you found evidence and brought him to justice, you can't do anything."
After hearing what Zhong Nianyao said, Han Xin frowned, "Miss Zhong, what do you mean?"
"You probably haven't found out yet," Zhong Nianyao said calmly, "The driver is already terminally ill and won't live long. If I'm not mistaken, he probably only has two or three months left."
As early as the accident scene, she had already seen from the driver's face that he was not long for death. Therefore, she did not believe that this was a simple accident.

Lu Fei was skeptical about this. He didn't know where Zhong Nianyao got the information from, but the way she said it with such confidence didn't seem like it was fake.

After hearing about the driver's situation, the first thing that came to his mind was hiring a killer.
If it was really a murder for hire, then the person must have had a huge conflict with Zhong Nianyao. Otherwise, ordinary people really wouldn't do such a thing to take someone's life.
