Chapter 138 Sheep Eyes
Mei Yang pulled Melida's sleeve to let him look at the strange creature in the distance, but in the gap between turning his head and looking up again, when Mei Yang looked at the boulder again, there was no goat-headed man there.
"Strange, am I dazzled?" Mei Yang said to himself.
Melida just clicked her tongue and didn't dwell on this incident. She took Mei Yang off the deer's back, and the two of them walked in the wilderness, leading the deer.
Fields full of blooming flowers are a subject that all painters will try, and beginner Mei Yang is no exception.
When he came to the present timeline, among the spoils in his hands happened to be a set of magic picture albums produced by a magician that the Elf King had specially bought for him at the market.
It was an A5-sized sketchbook with thick paper and not many pages. The fun part was that it allowed for refreshing.
Mei Yang enthusiastically pulled Melida to the halfway point and sat down. He was wearing Melida's clothes, which were very loose and were blown up by the spring breeze. Mei Yang stretched out with great enjoyment.
Melida liked his lively and lazy appearance, as if he never had any worries, making people around him happy with him.
"What flowers do you like?" Melida asked. "I'll pick them for you."
Mei Yang shook his head: "Don't worry, I'll draw for a while, I promise to surprise you."
He spoke mysteriously, which really aroused Melida's curiosity.
"Okay." Then Melida stopped talking and just quietly accompanied him in painting.
Mei Yang looked around and felt uncomfortable sitting cross-legged, so he simply let Melida sit down. He snuggled into Melida's arms, leaning his back against her chest, placing the album on his knees, and took out the paintbrush from the side.
Inside the album is a watercolor paint that looks like a color card. Because it is a magical product, the quantity is small but very durable.
Mei Yang simply laid out a base, which was actually just outlining the shape with the matching charcoal pencil, and then began to fill in the colors.
He never pursues detailed realism in his paintings, and he likes the color filling part the most.
Everything in the world is special in his eyes, or in other words, what he sees is the true color of everything, while most people can only see simple filtered colors.
While painting, Mei Yang explained to Melada why he used that color.
He knew that although Melida didn't talk much, she actually liked listening to him talk.
"Have your eyes been enchanted?" asked Melida.
"Maybe." Mei Yang found it difficult to explain the science and four-color vision to a fantasy creature in a Western fantasy setting, so he agreed with him, "Maybe it's magic."
Elves are creatures that love nature, and Melida was very interested in the topic of color. He looked at Mei Yang's painting, then at the real thing right in front of him, and finally concluded: "You can see a lot of purple."
Mei Yang compared them and found that it was generally true. He saw things with some cyberpunk elements.
Meleda asks him what cyberpunk is.
Mei Yang thought for a moment and explained, "It's just some red and green lights, crowded underground buildings, advanced technology that doesn't benefit ordinary people... In that sense, it's a bit like the Mother Tree, but the Mother Tree is better. Our Mother Tree is spacious and convenient."
After hearing what he said, Melida finally felt a little bit of longing.
He had heard Mei Yang say before that he would become an elven king in the future, with many subjects and a rich territory. Melida felt like he was dreaming.
He hadn't seen another elf in decades.
But the more she got along with Mei Yang, the more Melada liked him, and she couldn't help but have some thoughts of building a nest like a male. That's why she was so active in collecting and making, wanting to make the cave more comfortable and make her partner happier.
This time, hearing Mei Yang praising the mother tree so much, Melida had some ideas.
He thought about the unfulfilled promise with another human being.
"Mei Yang." Melida suddenly interrupted his description.
"Hmm?" Mei Yang blinked.
"Can you draw the mother tree? Draw the general shape and the main internal structures, and then mark the details."
"Sure, but it'll take quite a while... Do we have any other plans today?"
"There are no other plans," Melida said. "Today's plan is just to take you out for fun."
As he spoke, he snapped his fingers, and fruits and dried beef wrapped in wax cloth appeared next to them. This was the picnic equipment that Melida had packed early in the morning.
"Okay. I don't know when you will meet the mother tree and your tribe. I will draw it first so that you can understand it." Mei Yang agreed.
He immediately turned over a new leaf and began to paint.
In fact, compared to landscape paintings, Mei Yang prefers to draw this kind of infrastructure painting that is similar to the setting. He is much more serious than his previous casual doodles. He first drew the overall comparison between the elf mother tree and the ordinary trees around it, and then drew out several layers that impressed him most one by one.
Of course, what impressed me most was the rooftop garden and their shared house.
"The garden is higher than many clouds, so the moon always looks round. But at that time, we drank afternoon tea there more than watching the moon, because a garden full of flowers is always more beautiful during the day than at night." Mei Yang's tone was full of nostalgia.
He then showed Melada the house they lived in together.
"Aren't we sleeping together?" Melida asked.
He found this very strange. He liked Mei Yang very much. The little human boy was very comfortable to hold and felt cuter than a mimosa. How could he, who was thousands of years old, not hold him while sleeping?
Mei Yang blushed: "I...we were just together at that time, so I was a little reserved."
"What is reserved?"
"Being reserved means... you obviously like me but you pretend not to like me and want me to take the initiative."
"Oh." Melida didn't understand. "When did I develop this bad habit?"
As she said this, as if to prove that he no longer had this bad habit, Melida took the initiative to kiss Mei Yang's eyelids.
He really likes Mei Yang's wonderful eyes.
Mei Yang was stunned at first, but his face immediately turned redder when he realized what was happening.
It's true that the sexy and mature Elf King is very reserved, but Melida in her youth is surprisingly straightforward.
"Okay, okay!" Mei Yang stammered, "I'll tell you about the birth of the elves."
"Yeah." Melida turned her gaze back to the album.
He actually didn't quite believe that the elves that Mei Yang said grew out of fruits, but he just took Mei Yang's words for granted. Maybe the elves he was talking about were not the same kind of elves as himself.
Melida knew it from birth, and when he became conscious, he was already his current size. He was sure that he was not hatched from a fairy fruit.
The whole day was spent drawing and chatting.
As dusk approached, Melida blew a whistle to call Cuicui, who was eating leaves in another forest, to come back and stay with Mei Yang.
"I'm going somewhere. Please wait here for a while," Melida said. "There aren't many creatures in this forest. It's safe with Cuicui here. But don't run around. I'll be back soon."
"Okay." Mei Yang agreed.
Melida has a little secret, which Mei Yang knows.
He didn't care. It was normal for teenage boys to have some secrets. Could Melida, who was only in her forties, have any bad intentions?
Mei Yang was relieved.
He waved his hand, signaling Melida not to bother with him, and asked Cuicui to squat down and watch the sunset with him.
He didn't notice that Melida, who was carrying him on her back, gave him a guilty look, quickly tore off a few pages from the album, and disappeared in the blink of an eye.
The setting sun turned the entire sky orange-red. Mei Yang lay on the hillside and picked up a piece of grass and put it in his mouth.
His hair was messed up by the wind, so he brushed it back casually, revealing his smooth forehead.
Without the shadow of his hair, Mei Yang felt it was too dazzling to look directly at the sun, so he simply closed his eyes and chatted with Cuicui in a casual manner.
"Cui Cui, did you meet the handsome deer when you were eating leaves just now? Did you know that I know your son?"
"Uh uh~"
"Your son is a bit more impatient than you. When he runs so fast, the mountains and the earth shake. This is because he is fatter than you."
"Uh uh~"
"Yeah, I think you have a good figure too. You'd be prettier if you were slimmer!"
Mei Yang chatted with Cuicui for a long time without hearing any response from her. He thought Cuicui was unhappy about his comment on her figure.
Mei Yang opened his eyes and was about to see if Cuicui's deer face was unhappy, but he saw a strange scene - in the dark sky, darker than the night, there was a huge eyeball replacing the sun.
The eyeball was blood red, as mysterious as amber, and the pupil in the middle was a very long square.
Sheep's eye, devil's eye.
Mei Yang reacted instantly.
He was terrified and didn't understand what was going on.
He was still sitting on the hillside of the field, but there was no Cuicui or forest around him. The field stretched out infinitely, standing in stark contrast to the darkness above his head.
"Human." A hoarse voice with no discernible gender said softly.
"Here!" Mei Yang answered loudly.
He was scared to death, but as an honest man who had seen horror movies and had some experience, Mei Yang had a very serious attitude. If his legs were not weak, he would even want to stand up and salute.
"..." The voice paused, perhaps a little speechless, "I have a question for you, and you must answer truthfully."
"Okay!" Mei Yang said loudly, holding back tears.
He was ready to slide down on his knees and beg for mercy if he had a disagreement.
It was obvious that this sheep's eyeball was not a kind thing, and Mei Yang was scared to death by it.
"Are you a high school student studying liberal arts?"
"Huh? Oh, yes, I am, but I graduated. I just got into college."
Mei Yang didn't know where the vocal organ of the eyeball was, but he did hear a sigh, which sounded a bit annoyed.
"knew."
The next second, Mei Yang blinked and saw the familiar orange-red sunset.
Cuicui was beside him, gently licking the back of his hand which was resting on the grass.
Mei Yang's heartbeat had not yet slowed down. He was sure that he was not dreaming just now. He was really being pulled into an indescribable and terrifying space.
I just don't know why he asked him such a confusing question.
"Mei Yang..."
"Fuck!"
“…”
"You scared me to death!"
Melada, who had just returned, patted Mei Yang's shoulder from behind, and Mei Yang's bladder almost exploded.
He glanced at Melida resentfully and was about to tell her what had just happened, but when he opened his mouth he found that he couldn't describe it at all.
——It’s like some kind of restriction.
"What's wrong?" Melida asked him.
He looked Mei Yang up and down and found that apart from being extremely nervous, there was nothing abnormal about him, and Cuicui beside him also looked normal.
"No." Mei Yang wiped his face, "Let's talk about it later. Take me home quickly. I have something urgent to do."
