Chapter 75: Testing

Chapter 75: Testing

The boat went upstream, Sang Luo leaned on the side of the boat, stretched out a hand and reached into the stream.

The image reflected in the clear flowing water was his own appearance.

Sang Luo looked at the stern again. The other protagonist of the story, Sang Biao, or the pirated Mr. Hart, was standing quietly at the end of the boat with his back to him, gazing at the mountains in the distance.

Sang Luo sighed silently - he didn't know whether he should act out the plot of the ghost story in his dream.

Should I follow the plot honestly until I wake up and the dream ends, or should I just change the plot a little bit?

But if the plot is modified, will there be more thriller and horror scenes? This is a ghost story after all.

Sang Luo stared at the back of the pirated Mr. Hart in a trance. He began to recall in his mind the outline of the plot he had presented so far:

[After breakfast, Da Piaoliang and several other unfamiliar passengers boarded a small boat under the guidance of the staff.

The staff told us that after paddling up the river for about 20 minutes, we would reach the lake below the waterfall. We could enjoy the scenery along the way and breathe in the fresh forest air.

Including the crew and the waitress Xiaomei, the boat only held eight people—Da Piaoliang and Sang Biao, along with two young couples. The two couples seemed to be classmates and were close friends, but Da Piaoliang and Sang Biao were alone.

The boat went upstream, the water became slower and slower, and the boat went faster and faster, until it suddenly stopped in front of a straight cliff.

The boat stopped suddenly and Da Piaoliang almost fell down. It was only when a young man beside her helped her that she was able to stand up.

Da Piaoliang smiled gratefully at the young man, but his female companion glared at her. Realizing she was being disliked, Da Piaoliang tactfully avoided any further attempts at fraternization. She planned to continue her visit by radiating her charm to Sang Biao, who had captivated her since their meeting that morning.

Following the staff's instructions, everyone disembarked and walked around...

At this moment, the boat shook violently, and Sang Luo almost fell into the river, but a big hand with distinct bones grabbed his waist from behind.

"Be careful." The man's magnetic voice brushed past Sang Luo's ears, making his body numb.

"Thank you, Sang..." Sang Luo paused when the words of thanks came to his lips.

He suddenly realized that this was his dream, and all the characters projected into reality would act according to his subconscious.

Therefore, you have the right to modify the settings.

He thought, since I am Da Piaoliang now, my male protagonist Sang Biao should have a more formal title in line with my expectations for Mr. Hart.

For example, Mr. Trenchcoat.

So, Sang Luo said, "Thank you, Wen Blake."

The man behind him just hummed softly.

He let go of Sang Luo's waist and reminded her, "Let's go."

Only then did Sang Luo notice that there were only two of them left on the ship, and all other personnel had already landed.

Sang Luo also hurried to the shore.

After getting ashore, following the staff's steps, everyone walked around the cliff. What came into view was a group of gem-like emerald green lakes, high and low, scattered in an orderly manner.

At the end of the lake lies a massive waterfall, approximately 80 meters high and 100 meters wide. This waterfall, formed by karst topography, is a rift-shaped waterfall with a massive volume and a very fast flow.

From a distance of a hundred meters, Sang Luo felt the water droplets flying from the waterfall, like rain, soaking him through.

He was wearing a tweed coat, which absorbed water and became heavier.

Sang Luo had no choice but to take off his coat and hang it on his arm.

He was only wearing a white shirt underneath, so luckily the cold feeling in the dream was not real and he would not catch a cold.

Xiaomei, whose face had been transformed into a mosaic by Sang Luo, took out a few bags from her backpack and told everyone, "You can leave any items like water cups that are inconvenient to carry with you with me. I'll take care of them. Then the staff will lead everyone along the path behind the waterfall to visit the cave."

Everyone put some of the more cumbersome items with Xiaomei, and Sang Luo followed the crowd and put his coat in.

Afterwards, everyone followed the staff and walked towards the waterfall through the overgrown path on the side.

Although it was a sunny day, the splashing water from the waterfall made it look like a sunshower, and it was a heavy rain.

Sang Luo was soaked from head to toe, and he could hardly open his eyes. He could only lower his head slightly to see a little more clearly.

The dirt road was muddy and slippery, so Sang Luo had to be as weak as Da Piaoliang in the story, holding on to Wen Blake's arm tightly to keep her balance and not slip in the mud. A little ahead of them, a girl fell into the grass because her shoes were not non-slip enough.

When her companions pulled her up by her arms, the girl's hair, face, arms, and even her clothes and pants were all covered with dirty mud.

Sang Luo listened to her collapsed complaints and immediately pressed closer to the man.

Even in a dream, he didn't want to fall into such a miserable state.

When they finally walked out of the small path and onto the wider gravel road, Sang Luo immediately let go of the hand that was tightly holding Wen Blake's arm.

He looked back and saw that the weed-covered field they had just walked through was actually covered with many unknown, small, colorful wild flowers.

Sang Luo's mood became particularly good.

With a happy smile on his face, he said to the man next to him, "Look! There's a rainbow!"

"Rainbow?" The man looked in the direction he pointed.

"Yeah, but there seem to be only four colors?"

“How many colors should there be?”

"Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. There should be seven."

"Then why are there only four?"

"Because the human eye can see..." Sang Luo suddenly paused. He looked to the side, at the man who was still intently watching the rainbow in the sun shower, and asked him, "Have you never seen a rainbow before?"

Wen Blake retracted his gaze, looked at Sang Luo with melancholy eyes, and said lightly: "I have never seen it. There has never been a rainbow where I live."

Seeing that Sang Luo was confused, he didn't delve too deeply into the topic.

He just said meaningfully: "Thank you for letting me see the rainbow for the first time."

Sang Luo blinked, a sense of indescribable weirdness passing through his heart. But it was too fast, and before Sang Luo could figure out what it was, he was attracted by the following plot.

It was the staff who greeted everyone in front: "Guests, you have come at the right time. If you are any later, you will not be able to enter the cave..."

Next to where he stood, several enormous rocks stretched along the rock face, extending into the dark caverns within. Chains, roughly the thickness of a human wrist, were fastened to the rock face, allowing travelers to enter and exit without slipping on the moss and falling into the lake below.

The boys in the two couples were stretching their muscles exaggeratedly, eager to try. Coincidentally, Xiaomei, who had just put away her belongings, also rushed over at this time.

Sang Luo discovered a plot that was completely not involved in his original story - there seemed to be another way here.

Because Xiaomei was one step behind the others and chased after them alone, she was a petite woman, but only her clothes, soles of shoes and around the shoes were wet, without any mud.

Obviously, she didn't chase us from the field path that the staff had just led us through.

Strange. Sang Luo secretly noted this detail.

It seems that in the dream, the town's worldview and storyline are improving on their own, and all the details that the creator Sang Luo did not mention are being completed by other forces.

After discussion, the staff took the lead, the two couples were in the middle, Sang Luo and Wen Blake were a little behind, and Xiaomei was the last one to go. In this order, everyone climbed up the boulder one by one, pulled the iron chain on one side tightly, and walked into the cave.

The waterfall was so turbulent that even just walking beside it had already soaked Sang Luo to the point of being completely soaked. At this point, he began to envy the man behind him in the waxed windbreaker.

His body must not be wet, so he must feel refreshed, dry and warm, right?

Fortunately, at this step, everyone was extremely careful, and the iron chain played a huge role. No one slipped and fell from the slippery boulders, and everyone entered the cave smoothly.

After jumping down and stepping onto the flat ground, Sang Luo looked up at the interior of the cave. Even though he had simulated it several times in his mind, he was still shocked by the wonders of nature.

The ancient underground river within the natural cave formed by the karst terrain is not like the undercurrent of the lake outside, but is as clear as a mirror and without a single ripple. Only along the inner wall of the cave is there a slightly flat rocky area suitable for walking.

The stalactites hanging upside down on the top of the cave are stacked up one after another. There is no colorful artificial light scenery, but their original grayish white color, under the refraction of sunlight, reveals a jade-like lustrous luster.

"Wow!"

“How beautiful!”

"Let's go inside, I want to take a look inside!"

The couples excitedly started to make noise, and after asking the staff and being told that the developed and accessible areas in the cave were relatively safe, they began to move around freely.

Sang Luo and Wen Blake walked in slowly.

Whenever Sang Luo slowed down to think or observe, Wen Blake would stop and wait for him. He was much more considerate than Sang Biao in the story who treated Da Piaoliang who deliberately seduced him.

Sang Luo couldn't help but talk to him: "Weinbrake, have you ever been married?"

This was the dialogue in Sang Luo's original ghost story. He wanted to try and see if the OOC character Sang Biao was still consistent with the personality in the original plot.

Or maybe, because of his subconscious expectations, he is closer to Mr. Hart in the real world.

"No," Weinbreck replied. "I've always been alone."

"Has no one ever attracted you?" Sang Luo continued to ask.

"There wasn't one before, but there is one now." The man said in a low voice.

Sang Luo was about to ask further questions, but suddenly remembered that this answer was indeed different from the original plot.

In the original plot, Sang Biao’s answer was clearly “Madam, I don’t understand what you are implying.”

Then Da Piaoliang would pretend to sprain her ankle and fall into Sang Biao's arms - this was a slightly exaggerated plot that Sang Luo had deliberately added to cater to the tastes of the many men in the tavern. The appropriate amount of friction helped to adjust the tension and make the ghost story more relaxed and moderate.

But at this moment, in the deep cave, Wenbrake looked at him affectionately...

Sang Luo slapped his forehead in frustration and was speechless to himself.

No way, no way, has my fantasy about Mr. Hart reached the stage where I expect him to actively hint at me and seduce me?

If the dream continues to deteriorate like this, it might develop into "Cave Exploration: Passion in the Hidden Corner"...

Just as he was thinking, Sang Luo suddenly felt a hand slowly reaching in from the bottom of his wet shirt that was pressed against his skin.

Warm, rough hands with distinct bones and slender knuckles.

Sang Luo was startled and immediately looked up.

Unconsciously, as he was walking and thinking, the two of them arrived at a secluded corner in the cave.

The man was about 1.9 meters tall, and his tall body cast a firm shadow over Sang Luo.

That hand was still caressing her lower back frivolously.

The man lowered his head slightly, his lips almost touching Sang Luo's earlobe.

He said, "You expect me to do this to you, right?"
