Chapter 97 Taming a Cold-blooded Animal
In the evening, when Bai Su came to see Vesperia, he was writing furiously under the candlestick.
"Your Highness." Bai Su coughed twice and asked, "Are you free now?"
"Of course." Vespera put down the pen and paper.
He let Bai Su in and casually pointed out a seat to Bai Su - in fact, it was just a piece of wooden stake left over from repairing a boat.
Even the desk he is using now is just two antique suitcases stacked together to form a table.
Vespera turned around and faced Bai Su. He deliberately did not clear the manuscript paper on the table, so when Bai Su looked at him, he naturally caught a glimpse of some mind maps with overly modern layouts and short answer questions neatly listed on the entire paper.
"You..." Bai Su's eyes suddenly widened.
"I am," Vespera admitted generously.
So the next few hours were another scene of fellow villagers meeting each other.
Bai Su was convinced: "You've adapted well."
"You too," Vespera asked him. "So what brings you to me? Have you finished your kelp?"
This is most likely the case, Vespera thought.
At noon, he accidentally witnessed the Naga beating up the Siren. The best reaction Vespera could make in such a hurry was to escape unscathed and create an image for himself as a melancholy prince who had been deceived.
They hadn't brought back any fresh vegetables today, so perhaps they could go without them for a few days. However, until the boat was repaired, they would have to stay on the island for another day. Furthermore, even after the repairs, boarding the ship and reaching the Western Continent would take quite a while. If they didn't have fresh vegetables to replenish during that time, not only would their bodies become ill, but their minds would also be vulnerable.
Bai Su came to subtly remind Vespera that it was time to get some vegetables back.
Sure enough, Bai Su nodded.
He hesitated for a moment, then asked tentatively, "If there are any difficulties, we can all think of other solutions."
Just now, Vespera briefly told Bai Su about the current situation, including his suspicion that there were also time travelers in the Western Continent.
As for saying it was in the Western Continent, it was because Vespera came to this world earlier than Bai Su. He was more familiar with the Eastern Continent, and no one there had ever preached the story of "The Little Mermaid".
Vespera thought for a moment and told Bai Su, "No, it's not that difficult to get kelp. What bothers me is something else."
As he said that, he simply handed the answer ideas he had just listed to Bai Su to see.
"This is?"
"I want to tame that siren."
“…”
"Perhaps you have some experience you can share with me?"
"The relationship between me and Keos is not what you think." Bai Su said with a dark face.
"I know," Vespera explained. "I mean, I heard you captured two tiger orc cubs? And you have such a good relationship with that snow leopard, so I guess you have some experience in taming animals."
Bai Su: “…”
Vespera raised her eyebrows, meaning, is it inconvenient?
"Oh, no." Bai Su stammered, "Wait for me to organize my words, about this matter..."
…
"I understand." Vespera put down the paper and pen. He roughly understood what to do and wrote a lot of notes.
He looked confident and even more confident than Bai Su who taught him the method.
"Thank you, Bai Su, I will come back with seafood tomorrow." Vespera promised.
Bai Su wiped his face and didn't dare tell him that he was half raising tiger cubs and half training centaurs, and combined the two experiences to teach him.
I hope it works. Bai Su prayed silently in his heart.

The next day at noon, after lunch, Vespera went into the woods alone, carrying a folding chair in his left hand and a small basket in his right hand.
He brought no one with him, including his personal guards.
There were no large beasts on this island, not even a rabbit. Only some seagulls would occasionally land on the treetops. Therefore, Vespera did not think that any accidents could harm him. He wanted to go meet Naga alone.
While walking through the woods, Vesperia accidentally found some white mushrooms on a large tree root that was not in the sun. They looked quite harmless.
But if you look closely, you will see dots of fluorescent spores hidden under the umbrellas of those mushrooms.
Is this edible?
Vesperia thought about it, then wrapped one of the flowers in a handkerchief and threw it into the basket.
When he came out of the woods and stepped onto the beach, he was immediately stunned by the scene in front of him - next to the huge reef, there was a reef of the same size.
Vespera squinted her eyes, looked carefully, and then found that it was actually a huge mountain of kelp.
Vespera: “…”
He walked slowly forward, picked up a crab crawling on the beach, and threw it back into the sea.
The sound of the splash startled the long snake tail hiding behind the reef and it disappeared in an instant.
"Come out, Naga," Vespera said softly, "Come out and let's talk."
He waited for a while, and seeing no movement, he sighed, put down the things in his hands, and began to concentrate on assembling the sunshade suit.
Ten minutes later, Vespella stepped barefoot into the shallows, set up the folding chair and tent next to the reef, and went to sleep.
He had a very relaxing and wonderful nap until he was awakened by the sound of bubbles blowing.
When he opened his eyes, the beautiful mermaid with blue hair and golden eyes was half lying on the lounge chair, her chin resting on Vespella's shoulder, staring at him without blinking.
Seeing that he was awake, she said quietly but firmly, "Vespera, let's talk."
Vespera couldn't help but laugh.
How could Naga, with her well-behaved appearance, be like the ferocious, wild and unruly overlord of the sea that the high priest described?
It's obviously a small puppy fish.
Vespella teased him, "I know why you pretend to be mute. Your voice really isn't as beautiful as a siren's."
Hearing the slander, Naga subconsciously wanted to bare her teeth, but when she thought about the fact that the person in front of her was the prince, a prince who had been deceived and angered by him, and she didn't know whether she had forgiven him or not, Naga didn't dare to be mean to him and could only pout in grievance.
Making Vespera laugh again.
"Okay," Vespera said, sitting up a little. "We really should talk."
The Naga's snake tail swayed in the water.
"If you're honest, I'll give you a reward." Vespera coaxed.
"Okay." The tip of Naga's tail twitched rapidly.
"First, tell me, why do you want to pretend to be the Little Mermaid?"
"I'm not pretending to be the Little Mermaid. I'm just like the Little Mermaid. I live in the sea and have a beautiful tail. I think the Little Mermaid is probably the bard's wrong name for the Siren."
Vespera: “…”
Naga said seriously, "Moreover, our meeting, I saved you from the shipwreck, and you liked me very much and asked me if I wanted to go to your country - it was exactly like in the fairy tale. I must be the Little Mermaid."
Vespera: “…”
He was sure that Naga's brain was really not working well.
Never mind. It’s easier to fool people with poor brains.
Vespera said, "Yes, I do plan to take you to my country, but it's a little different from what you expected. Speaking of which, didn't you go get that aquamarine necklace?"
"I took it." Naga replied.
He stepped back a little, stood up, and showed Vespella.
Then, Vesperia saw that there was no decoration on Naga's fair and slender neck. Following his beautiful muscle lines, there were delicate collarbones, full pectoral muscles, perfectly shaped abdominal muscles, and two contracted mermaid lines.
The silver chain of the aquamarine pendant was stuck in the groove between the two mermaid lines, and the main aquamarine stone, which was as big as a pigeon egg, was hung on the thickest part of the Naga snake's tail, almost merging with his aquamarine tail.
"Does it look good?" Naga asked shyly.
"Very beautiful." Vespera narrowed her eyes, her Adam's apple sliding up and down.
He had actually seen quite a few beauties in his previous life.
But he was ill at the time, and his mind was almost entirely on managing the family property and fighting with his young stepmother. He never had a moment to spare to enjoy the extravagant life that was in line with his status.
However, the beauty of the Naga surpassed even that of anyone Vespera had ever seen.
He has a beauty comparable to an angel in the Bible, but his body is sexy and wild, and that weird snake tail, this contradiction...
Vespera couldn't help but hold out her hand to him: "Come here."
Naga quickly approached him and placed her hand in his palm.
Vesperia played with his cold, slender fingers covered in thin flesh, and not surprisingly saw a film between his fingers that was more transparent than a cicada's wing.
It's webbed.
"Naga, I mean, are you really willing? Come with me, go to my country, and let me raise you?" Vespera asked him.
Naga nodded without hesitation: "I do."
Vespera didn't expect that Naga would agree so quickly.
He thought, it seems I was worrying too much, things are not that difficult at all.
"Wait here for me, I'm going to get something." Vespera stood up.
He passed by the kelp mountain that had wilted after being exposed to the sun for several hours, went around behind the reef, and picked up the small basket from the shade.
Vespera sat back on the recliner, handed the small basket to Naga, and said, "Try it. It's a reward for you."
What reward?
Naga lifted the floral cloth and saw a pale yellow object placed on a white plate.
"What is this?" Naga asked.
"Egg pudding. Eat it with a spoon," Vespella explained. "By the way, can I touch your tail?" he asked.
"Um."
After receiving a positive answer, Vespella placed her hand on Nagana's shimmering snake tail, which was soaked in the sea water.
The scales on snakes' tails are much finer than those on fish's tails, and coupled with the mucus they secrete to protect themselves, they feel unexpectedly good to the touch.
Vesperia thought that in the era he had lived in, some people did not like furry cats and dogs, but liked cold reptiles such as snakes and lizards. There was a reason for this.
There's something deeply satisfying about taming a cold-blooded animal.
At least Vespera is in a rather excited mood right now.
"belch."
Vespera stroked Naga's tail in fascination for a long time until he heard a small hiccup.
He looked up and saw that the small basket was empty except for a set of white porcelain plates, and Naga was wiping her mouth with a silk scarf.
