Chapter 10 Is he as handsome as me?
Is this really revenge?
Wang Yan couldn't help but wonder.
Su Yueming inwardly applauded his own cleverness.
"Are you serious?" Wang Yan felt that he must still be dreaming and hadn't woken up yet.
Su Yueming nodded, his attitude sincere: "More real than real gold."
Wang Yan's fingers, hanging at his sides, curled slightly. He pursed his lips and decided to change the subject, "What do you want to eat this morning?"
"Anything is fine, I'm not picky about food."
"good."
Wang Yan turned around, pushed open the door, and left the bedroom. As he passed the succulent, he first watered it.
Looking at the water droplets clinging to the leaves, Wang Yan wiped them clean little by little with a tissue.
"I must be overthinking it. Why do I feel like what he said was a bit ambiguous?"
Wang Yan squatted down in front of the succulent and muttered to himself.
Last night's torrential rain seemed like an illusion; the dazzling sunlight pierced through the glass and fell in front of Wang Yan, as if opening a golden door.
The succulent didn't answer him. Wang Yan lowered his eyes and said, "Never mind."
He said with a self-deprecating tone, "I'm being delusional again."
Inferiority complex followed Wang Yan like a shadow. Whenever he tried to be confident and optimistic, inferiority complex would surface and tell him that he was not worthy.
The succulent's leaves were clean and bright after Wang Yan wiped them, and a gentle breeze made them tremble slightly.
Wang Yan stood up and slowly walked into the kitchen. There were still some noodles in the refrigerator, so he decided to make egg and meat sauce noodles today.
He didn't forget what he had promised Chi Qiu, so he deliberately cooked extra noodles when he was cooking them.
Then he found the insulated box that he hadn't used in a long time, washed it, and poured the cooked noodles into it.
Then I fried another portion of egg sauce.
The fragrance even wafted into the bedroom, making Su Yueming, who was lying on the big bed, keep swallowing his saliva.
Soon the bedroom door was pushed open, and Wang Yan walked in carrying a bowl of noodles with egg and gravy.
"It smells so good, it tastes so delicious!"
Su Yueming praised honestly, "I can't wait."
This was the first time Wang Yan had been praised.
His face went blank for a moment; he didn't know how to respond to the compliment.
After a long pause, he stammered, "It's delicious... then eat more."
"That's a must."
This time, without Su Yueming's prompting, Wang Yan picked up his chopsticks and started feeding Su Yueming.
Su Yueming opened his mouth obediently, his heart overflowing with sweetness.
However, before he could finish eating the braised noodles, Wang Yan's phone vibrated in his pocket.
"I'll take the call."
Su Yueming nodded obediently, but his ears were perked up.
Who on earth was so inconsiderate as to call Wang Yan at this time?!
Wang Yan took his phone out of his pocket with one hand and looked at the name flashing on the screen. It was a call from Chi Qiu.
"Hello."
"Don't forget to bring me lunch, you promised me yesterday!"
Chi Qiu shouted on the other end of the phone, afraid that Wang Yan would forget.
Wang Yan chuckled slightly, "I remember, I haven't forgotten."
"That's more like it." Chi Qiu snorted on the other end of the phone. "I deliberately didn't eat breakfast this morning, and I'm still hungry."
"I see."
Wang Yan was very patient and spoke softly.
Having overheard the entire conversation, Su Yueming felt as if a jar of vinegar had been overturned in his heart.
Who is that person on the other side? What is their relationship with Wang Yan? Why is Wang Yan bringing them food?
One problem after another bombarded Su Yueming's mind.
Wang Yan was completely oblivious to Su Yueming's emotions until he hung up the phone and fed the noodles to Su Yueming's lips again, but Su Yueming didn't open his mouth. Only then did Wang Yan realize that something was wrong with him.
"What's wrong?" Wang Yan tilted his head and thought for a moment. "Are you full?"
Su Yueming rolled his eyes angrily, but unfortunately his eyes were covered, so Wang Yan didn't see it.
"Is he your boyfriend?" Su Yueming asked, his voice laced with jealousy. "Is he as handsome as me?"
Wang Yan was taken aback by Su Yueming's question and froze on the spot.
His brown eyes were filled with shock. "He's just my friend."
"Then why do you bring him food? Doesn't he have hands?"
Su Yueming's tone was displeased, and his words became sharp.
Faced with Su Yueming's sharp words, Wang Yan was somewhat at a loss.
No one taught Wang Yan how to grow up, nor did anyone teach him how to rebel.
Having faced too much rage and ridicule since childhood, Wang Yan's first reaction to such situations was always to appease others.
"I'm sorry, I promised him."
Wang Yan murmured.
Su Yueming suddenly fell silent.
He sensed Wang Yan's restraint and unease; Wang Yan leaned against the headboard, his chest heaving.
“I’m the one who should apologize,” Su Yueming said gently, with genuine remorse. “I shouldn’t have spoken like that.”
Wang Yan shook his head without even blinking.
"Let's continue eating."
"good."
Neither of them spoke again; one silently fed the other, and the other silently opened his mouth.
The air floated in the sky, like a heavy mountain.
After finishing the noodles with gravy, Su Yueming broke the silence first, saying, "Don't be angry."
"I'm not angry."
Wang Yan was indeed not angry. He hadn't been angry for a long time, especially after being diagnosed with a terminal illness. He realized that everything was fake, and only what he held in his hands was real.
"Then why don't you speak?"
What do you want to hear?
"Aren't you going to bring him food?" Su Yueming asked tentatively, then chuckled, "Haha, I was just kidding."
The smile on his lips didn't reach his eyes.
What would you like to eat for lunch?
Wang Yan changed the subject.
"Braised pork belly".
"good."
Although Su Yueming was trying to control himself, he couldn't help but ask, "You're not going to bring this to him too, are you?"
He wanted to know if he was an exception.
Wang Yan almost laughed. He didn't think Su Yueming was jealous; he just thought Su Yueming cared about the food.
Perhaps they were afraid of not having enough to eat?
To dispel his worries, Wang Yan decisively replied, "No."
"I made this just for you."
Su Yueming was instantly happy.
"That's more like it."
He wanted to become that special person in Wang Yan's heart.
Never mind how it came about!
