Chapter 15 You Have a Guilty Heart

Chapter 15 You Have a Guilty Heart

"Is it tasty?"

Su Yueming's voice rose slightly, revealing a hint of pleasure.

Wang Yan nodded sincerely, and after realizing that Su Yueming couldn't see him, he hurriedly said, "It really is delicious."

Without hesitation, he stuffed the last bite of the bun into his mouth and said with a double meaning, "I never lie."

However, his actions left Wang Yan dumbfounded, and he subconsciously thought, "Isn't this terminal illness contagious?"

"You ate the bun I had already bitten into."

"What's wrong? Are you bothered?"

No, not exactly.

"What's wrong?" Su Yueming teased him deliberately, "Or should I spit it out and give it back to you?"

"Huh?" Wang Yan couldn't believe that Su Yueming would say such a thing, and subconsciously waved his hands repeatedly, "No need, no need."

"All right."

Su Yueming picked up the bun again, took a bite naturally, and handed it to Wang Yan again.

They ostensibly wanted Wang Yan to try it, saying that this one was a different kind of trap than the previous one.

In the end, Wang Yan could not resist the temptation and bit into it again.

After swallowing it, reason prevailed once again, and Wang Yan, after much painful reflection, said, "I really won't eat it anymore."

"Why? Is it because we're sharing a bun?" Su Yueming casually took a bite of the bun, his voice languid: "We're both men, there's nothing wrong with sharing a bun, unless you're hiding something."

"What kind of ghost could I possibly be?"

Wang Yan spoke these words urgently, as if he were trying to prove himself.

"Yeah, since you don't have any ghosts, what are you afraid of?"

Su Yueming's words were reasonable and well-founded, leaving Wang Yan speechless.

Refusing meant you had something to hide, so to pretend you had nothing to hide, you shared the remaining buns in the same way.

Su Yueming slowly wiped his mouth and sincerely exclaimed, "I think the steamed buns they make are getting better and better."

Wang Yan didn't reply, but instead lowered his head and said, "I should go to work."

Before Su Yueming could respond, Wang Yan had already pushed open the bedroom door and left.

This time, as he walked through the living room and passed the succulents, he didn't say a word.

It was past eight o'clock when Wang Yan arrived at school. He was never late, but he made an exception today.

Ignoring the gossipy glances from the teachers in the office, Wang Yan went straight to his seat and sat down.

His mind was a jumbled mess, constantly replaying the image of Su Yueming sharing a steamed bun with him.

Why are you late today?

Chi Qiu leaned closer, looking him up and down, and asked gossipyly, "Was it because it was too intense last night?"

"fierce?"

Wang Yan didn't quite understand.

“It’s just…” Chi Qiu narrowed his eyes and clapped his hands suggestively.

After realizing what it meant, Wang Yan's cheeks flushed red at a visible speed, and he hopelessly recalled the kiss in his dream.

No, you're overthinking it.

Wang Yan quickly denied it, as this concerned Su Yueming's innocence, and he would not allow anyone to slander him.

Chi Qiu shrugged, his face full of doubt. "Okay."

His gaze shifted downwards, and he saw Wang Yan's fingers wrapped in bandages.

What happened to your hand?

"It's nothing." Wang Yan subconsciously hid his injured finger. "It'll be fine in a few days."

"Alright then." Chi Qiu hesitated, then added, "Be more careful next time."

"OK."

Wang Yan readily agreed.

For some reason, this morning felt exceptionally long. Wang Yan looked at the time countless times, only to find that time was crawling by like a snail.

Su Yueming's image always kept popping into my mind.

Sunlight streamed through the glass onto the podium, and fine dust particles danced in the beams of light. Perhaps the hypnotic effect was too strong, as the students below were all drowsy.

As the bell rang, Wang Yan stopped lecturing and began packing his things.

The students began to walk out of the classroom, but one girl approached Wang Yan.

"teacher."

Wang Yan subconsciously looked up at her; she had short hair with bangs, and her round, big eyes resembled grapes.

He had some impression of her because she was one of the few students who didn't sleep in his class.

Her name seems to be Jiang Xin.

"Is there anything you don't understand?" Wang Yan asked her.

“No.” Jiang Xin shook her head, her voice very soft. “Teacher, but I have a question.”

"you say."

"Teacher, are you in a relationship?!"

Wang Yan was taken aback, but he did not deny it: "Why do you say that?"

"Because you had a smile on your face during class." Jiang Xin's voice was filled with undisguised excitement. "That's something I've never seen before!"

A smile?

The word reached Wang Yan's ears, and he frowned slightly.

"Really, so I suspect you're in a relationship, teacher." Jiang Xin stuck out her tongue playfully and said, "Then I wish you a long and healthy life, teacher."

After saying that, Jiang Xin ran away.

Wang Yan was left standing there, stiff and unresponsive.

After a long while, Wang Yan slowly raised his finger and touched the corner of his lips, trying to make sure he was smiling.

It must be true, otherwise it wouldn't have been so easily discovered by others.

This realization made Wang Yan feel as if he were facing a formidable enemy. His eyes flickered constantly, and his lips were pressed tightly together.

He really couldn't go on like this; he was afraid he was sinking deeper and deeper, afraid he was beyond saving.

Tomorrow, I'll send Su Yueming back tomorrow!

We don't need to, and can't, wait another seven days.

With his fists clenched tightly at his sides, Wang Yan issued himself an ultimatum in his mind.

Today was no different from any other day, but Wang Yan felt that the journey was exceptionally long, and every step he took felt like walking on a knife's edge.

After a difficult journey home, Wang Yan quietly entered the bedroom.

Su Yueming was lying peacefully on the big bed taking a nap.

His gaze fell heavily on Su Yueming, and for a moment, Wang Yan seemed to see Su Yueming in his high school days.

Su Yueming became a prominent figure at the high school the moment he stepped through its gates.

Because Su Yueming has good grades, is handsome, and excels in sports.

In other people's words, Su Yueming is a perfect person.

At the time, Wang Yan scoffed at this idea.

He doesn't believe there are perfect people in this world.

Even if it were true, it would only mean he was very good at disguising himself.

During his high school years, Wang Yan harbored extreme prejudices against people because he had never received kindness from them, so he always assumed the worst about others.

So when he first met Su Yueming, he didn't think Su Yueming would help him.
