Chapter 50 My Master
Wang Yan didn't know where to take Su Yueming either.
The school is so small; you can see everything from a high vantage point.
When Wang Yan stopped, he realized that he had walked to the door of his former classroom.
Because it is Saturday, there are no students in the classroom.
The back door of the classroom was ajar, and light shone through the crack onto Wang Yan's shoes, as if enticing him to go inside.
Su Yueming noticed the hesitation in Wang Yan's eyes, so he deliberately asked, "Why did you stop?"
Wang Yan took a deep breath. "We have arrived at the classroom where I used to study."
"Really?" Su Yueming's tone was full of surprise. "I want to go in and take a look."
Wang Yan's gaze swept over the blindfold Su Yueming was wearing, and he felt a little flustered. "You can see?"
"I can't see it," Su Yueming lied without batting an eye, "but I want to get a feel for the atmosphere."
Wang Yan couldn't refuse any of Su Yueming's ideas.
So he reached out and slowly pushed open the door.
The dazzling sunlight pierced through the glass and fell into the classroom, scattering tiny rays of light all over the floor.
A cool breeze blew in through the open window, stirring the blue curtains.
Wang Yan slowly walked to the third row and sat down by the window.
"This used to be my seat."
Su Yueming groped his way to the seat in front of him and turned to look at him.
"I wish we had gone to the same middle school."
Su Yueming spoke without warning.
"Why?"
The two of them sat facing each other, as if time had reversed and they had truly returned to more than ten years ago.
“Because that way I can get to know you sooner.” Su Yueming’s hands were clenched tightly together, his chest rising and falling slightly. “I will protect you and not let you get hurt in the slightest.”
Su Yueming also wanted to say that he would do everything in his power for him.
For example, he would take Wang Yan away from Changgang Village, solve all his painful problems, and become his only support.
Wang Yan felt that he was feeling like crying more and more often lately.
Perhaps it was because he was diagnosed with a terminal illness that he became so sentimental.
"If only we could travel back in time."
Su Yueming lowered his head, feeling ashamed of his empty words and guilty for not being able to help Wang Yan.
"Actually, just hearing your words is enough."
Wang Yan laughed, resting his chin on his hand as he looked at Su Yueming. The blue curtains fluttered behind him, becoming his backdrop.
Su Yueming suddenly raised his head, and his eyes met Wang Yan's brown eyes.
His eyes seemed to hold a glittering galaxy, making Su Yueming unable to get enough of looking at him.
“I have no happy memories of middle school, but my thoughts have changed today.” Wang Yan said sincerely, feeling that it was all destined by God.
If he hadn't studied here, perhaps ten years later he and the person he liked wouldn't have been able to enter this place.
Painful memories are cloaked in a sweet guise; this is unique to Wang Yan.
"What has it turned into?"
Wang Yan smiled mysteriously, "I'm not telling you."
Su Yueming's eyes widened slightly, feeling incredulous that Wang Yan would keep him in suspense.
This playful side of Wang Yan was something he had never seen before.
"Do you really have to be so cruel?"
Su Yueming looked aggrieved.
This time, Wang Yan nodded without hesitation, his voice laced with laughter, "Yes, hahaha."
His laughter reached Su Yueming's ears, and his heart filled with joy as well.
Leaving the classroom, Wang Yan took Su Yueming's hand and walked down the stairs step by step.
Do you think what we're doing counts as puppy love?
Su Yueming shook his clasped fingers and suddenly had a wild idea that would make anyone who didn't know better think they were still in school.
What do you think?
Su Yueming suddenly laughed, "Even so, I will not break up with you."
Although Wang Yan hears Su Yueming's sweet words every day, he just can't resist them.
Every time he heard it, it would make his head spin and his heart race.
"I understand." Wang Yan said with a smile.
They took an afternoon bus back to City A, and by the time they got home, it was already 10 p.m.
After several days of travel, Wang Yan and Su Yueming were exhausted.
So the two of them simply changed into their pajamas and fell asleep on the bed.
That night, Wang Yan dreamed of his childhood.
In his dream, he was in junior high school. Because the village was some distance from the town, most of the children chose to take the school bus, but Wang Yan could only walk.
Every time the school bus passed by him, the children would press their faces against the windows to look at him.
Then they ridiculed him, calling him a pathetic wretch.
Su Yueming appeared at this moment, descending upon him like a god.
The events in a dream don't need to be logical. He dreamt that Su Yueming could take him to school and become a friend he could talk to.
More importantly, Su Yueming wouldn't ridicule him; he felt sorry for all his wounds.
As day slowly rose, Wang Yan woke up from his dream with tears streaming down his face.
Why are you crying?
Su Yueming rested his forehead on his shoulder and asked cautiously.
I dreamt about you.
Wang Yan said honestly.
"Was I particularly evil in my dream?"
Why do you say that?
The fluffy hair touched Wang Yan's eyelids, causing an itch.
"Otherwise, why would you be crying?"
Wang Yan shook his head. "I cried because I felt so happy."
Su Yueming looked up at him, and kissed Wang Yan's eyes one after another.
Wang Yan obediently closed his eyes, feeling his soft lips.
"I will make you even happier in the future!"
Su Yueming spoke with such conviction, as if he were making a vow.
After the sun had fully risen, Wang Yan sat up in bed.
His gaze fell on the iron chain hanging to the ground, and he was debating whether to re-lock the chain around Su Yueming's ankle.
The image of Su Yueming's reddened skin flashed through his mind, and he felt a little reluctant to lock him up any longer.
never mind.
Wang Yan closed his eyes tightly, believing that Su Yueming would not run away.
If he really wanted to escape, he would have had countless opportunities on his way back from Changgang Village.
Most importantly, Wang Yan believed that what Su Yueming said to him was true, and that his feelings for him were genuine.
"I'm going to work."
Wang Yan's gaze returned to Su Yueming.
Su Yueming was clearly surprised; his ankle was empty, as if something was missing.
Aren't you going to lock me up?
Su Yueming couldn't accept any change either; he was terrified of being abandoned by Wang Yan.
As Wang Yan pulled the door open, his voice still hoarse from the fever, he said, "I won't lock it anymore. You can move around freely now."
The brain told Su Yueming that this was a good sign.
Before he could even feel happy, Wang Yan emphasized, "I must see you when I come back at noon. You are not allowed to run away or hide."
"certainly."
Su Yueming nodded repeatedly, "I promise to wait for my master at all times."
The word "master" almost made Wang Yan kneel down.
His cheeks flushed instantly, and he stammered, "You...you shouldn't talk like that."
"What...what did I say?"
Su Yueming deliberately asked a question he already knew the answer to; he enjoyed seeing Wang Yan's shy face.
"That's right, that's the master."
"Master? What's wrong with Master?"
"I feel something's off..."
"What's strange about it?"
Before Wang Yan could come up with a reason, Su Yueming said again, "My master, you should go to work, or you'll be late."
Remember to come back soon.
