Chapter 90 I wish you happiness
The next morning was a beautiful day.
The sky outside the window was clear and blue, and the temperature was much warmer than it had been a few days ago.
Su Yueming had already gone to work, leaving only Wang Yan on the large bed.
This morning, it seemed like someone kissed his cheek and said something, but Wang Yan was too sleepy at the time and didn't hear it clearly.
It sounded like something like, "I'm going to work."
Wang Yan blinked, then sat up halfway, his lower back still a little sore.
Supporting his back, Wang Yan walked into the bathroom and washed himself.
After getting dressed, Wang Yan went downstairs, where Aunt Wu was already waiting.
Good morning, Mr. Wang.
Aunt Wu greeted Wang Yan.
"morning."
Wang Yan avoided eye contact; he was still somewhat unaccustomed to it.
"Breakfast is ready." Aunt Wu pulled out a chair. "Mr. Su asked me to make chicken soup especially for you. Please have a taste."
Wang Yan's gaze fell on the chicken soup placed in the center, with oil floating on the surface and garnished with scallions, making it look incredibly appetizing.
Why the sudden change of heart?
Wang Yan was somewhat puzzled.
Aunt Wu smiled knowingly, then hesitated, saying, "Mr. Su asked me to give you some nourishing food."
These words almost made Wang Yan choke.
Why does Su Yueming tell everyone everything?
Wang Yanqiang calmed himself down and slowly served himself a bowl of chicken soup.
I must say, the chicken soup was quite delicious, and the meat was fatty but not greasy.
Wang Yan knew why Aunt Wu left: she was waiting to accompany me to the supermarket.
So after breakfast, he put on his coat.
"Aunt Wu, let's go."
"good."
This was the first time Wang Yan had left the villa since he was imprisoned.
He took a deep breath of fresh air, and his lungs felt much lighter.
Because the nearest supermarket to the villa is a 20-minute drive away, Wang Yan and Aunt Wu had to take a car there.
But Su Yueming had already considered all of this, so as soon as he stepped out of the villa gate, he saw the car parked at the entrance.
The driver was already waiting, and as soon as he saw Wang Yan come out, he immediately opened the car door for him: "Mr. Wang, please get in the car."
"Okay, thank you."
To be honest, Wang Yan was quite unaccustomed to such thoughtful service.
The car drove smoothly down the mountain. Perhaps because he had worked too hard last night, Wang Yan was feeling drowsy.
As the car slowly came to a stop, he opened his eyes.
The car door was opened again, and the driver's voice came from above: "Mr. Wang, we've arrived."
"good."
Wang Yan got out of the car and looked at the multi-story supermarket in front of him, feeling dizzy.
Aunt Wu followed him into the supermarket and pushed the shopping cart up to the second floor.
The second floor is a vegetable-selling area, and the sheer variety is overwhelming.
Wang Yan particularly likes to eat potatoes.
So when he saw the potatoes, he couldn't move.
He used to go grocery shopping every day, so he's very good at picking vegetables.
As he carefully examined which potatoes were of better quality, a surprised voice rang out from behind him.
"Wang Yan?"
Wang Yan stopped what he was doing and turned to look behind him.
It was a man; he seemed to have seen him somewhere before, but Wang Yan couldn't quite place him.
Aunt Wu stared at the other person cautiously.
"Don't you recognize me?" The man touched his nose and stepped closer to Wang Yan. "Never mind, it's normal that you don't recognize me. We didn't talk much when we were in school anyway."
Wang Yan keenly grasped the meaning of the words "going to school".
But he still couldn't remember; he genuinely had no recollection of it: "Sorry, I really can't remember."
"It's alright." The man reached out to Wang. "Let me reintroduce myself. My name is Zheng Xiao."
The name Zheng Xiao echoed in Wang Yan's ears, but he still couldn't recall it.
So he could only awkwardly extend his hand to shake hands with Zheng Xiao: "You already know my name, so I won't introduce myself."
Zheng Xiao smiled without reservation, her gaze fixed on Wang Yan's shopping cart: "I never expected to meet you here again, I'm so happy."
Wang Yan was somewhat surprised, but also shocked by Zheng Xiao's frankness.
Aunt Wu sensed something was amiss; her intuition told her that Zheng Xiao was up to no good.
In order to preserve Mr. Su's position as the main wife, Aunt Wu hurriedly said to Wang Yan, "Mr. Wang, it's getting late, we should go back."
"Oh well."
Wang Yan quickly glanced at the time; he had promised Su Yueming he would be back within an hour.
He didn't want to be seen as someone who didn't keep their word in Su Yueming's eyes.
Who is this?
Zheng Xiao's gaze fell on Aunt Wu.
"She is the housekeeper in our family."
Wang Yan began to explain.
"Oh, I see." Zheng Xiao's eyes showed disappointment, and she asked, overstepping her bounds, "You're in a relationship?"
Wang Yan pursed his lips and looked at him warily.
Zheng Xiao shook his head, then found himself somewhat amused.
To be honest, he has never forgotten Wang Yan all these years.
Perhaps it was because Wang Yan was the one who made him fall in love for the first time, and even if he was rejected, he wanted to hear it from Wang Yan's own mouth.
"I didn't mean anything by it, I just wanted to put a period to my youth."
"Um?"
Wang Yan didn't quite understand.
“I once wrote you a love letter.” Zheng Xiao looked directly into Wang Yan’s eyes, her voice firm. “At the time, I didn’t dare to give it to you myself, so I asked Su Yueming to pass it on to you. Later, I asked him, and he said that you rejected me because you didn’t want to be in a relationship because you were about to take the college entrance exam. Now, are you willing to give me a chance?”
What Zheng Xiao said was something that Wang Yan felt was happening in a completely different space.
Wang Yan had no recollection of it at all.
Most importantly, if Su Yueming gave him a love letter, he definitely wouldn't forget it!
Besides, he's never had amnesia.
“Uh…” Although Wang Yan didn’t understand, his remaining rationality made him reject Zheng Xiao, “I already have someone I like.”
"I knew it would turn out like this." Zheng Xiao lowered his head and smiled forlornly. "This time, I can finally give up completely."
Aunt Wu was standing to the side, almost frantic with worry.
"Mr. Wang, let's go," Aunt Wu urged anxiously.
"Then I'll be going now."
Wang Yan bid farewell to Zheng Xiao.
"Bye-bye." Zheng Xiao waved. "I wish you happiness."
Wang Yan smiled, a slight upturn to his lips. "Thank you."
On the way back, Wang Yan couldn't help but think about the matter.
He racked his brains trying to recall everything that happened in high school, but he still couldn't find the story Zheng Xiao had mentioned.
If Zheng Xiao wasn't lying, then there's only one possibility.
Su Yueming did not pass the love letter on to Wang Yan.
But why wasn't it handed over to Wang Yan?
Was it an oversight, or was it intentional?
A thought flashed into Wang Yan's mind like a bolt from the blue: Could it be that Su Yueming didn't pass it on to him because he liked him back then?
This idea stirred within Wang Yan like a turbulent river.
Only by taking deep breaths can you calm your agitated emotions.
As the car stopped outside the villa, Wang Yan even forgot to bring his things and quickly walked into the villa.
He desperately wanted to know the answer.
But when the door was opened, Wang Yan did not see Su Yueming.
Instead, it was the woman standing in the middle of the living room, her long, flowing hair reaching her waist, whose beauty was captivating even from a single profile.
Seemingly hearing Wang Yan's footsteps, the woman turned around and looked him up and down without any attempt to hide her gaze.
"So this is what the man Su Yueming is keeping looks like."
Wang Yan's pupils suddenly contracted; it was Song Xiya.
