Tears fell like rain

Tears fell like rain

Chu Sinian wiped his hands with a napkin, his fake smile disappearing, revealing his original indifferent demeanor.

What are you planning to do with this meal today?

Chen Chi forked a piece of meat and placed it in front of him. "Aren't you going to eat it?"

Chu Sinian raised an eyebrow. "Do you think I'm still a three-year-old?"

Chen Chi said without much emotion, "You got angry just because you had a meal with me."

Chu Sinian suddenly realized that this man was being a bit nonsensical. "Didn't you warn me and threaten me to stay away from you?"

He asked maliciously, "What, you changed your gender again in such a short time?"

"Yes, it's been changed," Chen Chi replied calmly.

Chu Sinian confirmed several times that the voice came from Chen Chi's mouth. He squinted and carefully looked him over from head to toe to make sure that this person was not an imposter.

He kept fidgeting, sometimes holding his head, sometimes sitting up straight. After a moment of silence, he couldn't help but say, "Why don't you go to the hospital to get it checked out?"

Chen Chi pointed to the meat, "It'll get cold if we don't eat it now."

Unbeknownst to him, Chu Sinian actually picked up a fork, a look of bewilderment on his face, and began to eat his steak bite by bite.

He eats slowly because his teeth were broken before, and he has to chew his food thoroughly before swallowing it. Chen Chi, on the other hand, is completely different.

He eats very quickly, his teeth seem sharper than others'; he chews in two or three bites and swallows it, even when it's steak.

The rest were even faster than expected.

Chu Sinian swallowed hard. "So, Chen Chi, are we just wiping the slate clean? You really don't care at all?"

The restaurant's soft red light reflected off the diamond wall, creating a dazzling glow that caught Chen Chi's eye as his solemn, all-seeing eyes were lowered.

"How could I not care?"

Chen Chi smiled at him, tinged with malice, "Chu Sinian, where are you going to make up for all those years I was owed?"

Springtime in Dong'an is warm, and every spring, the manor is filled with crabapple blossoms. The long corridor that the father built for the mother is covered with flowers, and every time you step in, you always trample the fallen petals beyond recognition.

At this moment, Chu Sinian would hold the body in his arms and slowly move forward, inch by inch, to return the corpse to the mother's body, hoping that the flowers would bloom again in the corridor next year.

That year, he was fourteen years old.

Chu Sinian dressed neatly and went to see his busy father with his excellent medals. He waited anxiously in the study, imagining his father praising him.

He strolled back and forth happily, looking at the books on the bookshelf. He took out a thick copy of Dream of the Red Chamber, opened it, and was surprised to find notes every few pages.

Chu Sinian looked at it carefully and found that his viewpoint was completely consistent with that of the annotator. He was somewhat excited, which meant that his father's thoughts were in sync with his own.

He happily bit his lip, intending to put the book back on the shelf, but then noticed a small gap behind the Dream of the Red Chamber bookshelf.

Chu Sinian reached out and pushed, and found that he could push it away.

He was somewhat surprised and looked around, intending to move the bookshelf.

To everyone's surprise, when I pushed it, the bookshelf made a slight whooshing sound. It turned out that the bookshelf had wheels underneath, and then it was pushed open.

Chu Sinian stood there in surprise, and after moving the bookshelf again, he discovered a complete, invisible door design.

My father rarely let anyone into his study, but I never expected it to be such a hidden gem.

A sense of surprise and curiosity welled up within him, and he pushed open the door, stood in the inner room, and moved the bookshelf back to its original position.

Chu Sinian closed the door, turned on the lights, and carefully examined the secret room.

In the middle of the room was a two-meter-long bed, and next to it was a very upright chair with its back at a ninety-degree angle. He found it a bit strange because it didn't look like a comfortable chair for a person to sit on.

He continued to move around and examine the surroundings, pursing his lips in displeasure. The initial novelty faded with each glance, replaced by unease.

He saw whips, candles, and some strange, unfamiliar objects hanging on the wall under the dim red light.

There was a slightly unusual smell in the air, and everything here gave him goosebumps. He immediately started to walk out.

Outside, the sound of footsteps could be heard.

Chu Sinian instinctively hid, but remembering that he was already in the best hiding place, he didn't move again.

Under tension, one's sense of touch is very acute. Chu Sinian heard through the door that there was more than one person outside. He quietly opened the door a crack and saw a strange man walk in through the tightly woven pages.

The man had a pair of innocent, large eyes and looked very young and well-behaved.

The young man walked straight toward the bookshelf. Chu Sinian was about to close the door when he saw his long-lost father behind the young man. The father approached with an unprecedented urgency, embraced the young man, and kissed him affectionately.

The young man declined, saying, "I still need to read Dream of the Red Chamber; I haven't finished writing my notes yet."

Another man said, "It doesn't matter."

Chu Sinian stood frozen in place, as if a whip had lashed him from head to toe, displacing his internal organs.

He stiffly moved his hands and feet, and looking back at the room as he listened to the increasingly intimate sounds outside.

A few moments later.

Chu Sinian covered his mouth tightly to keep himself from making a sound, tears sliding down the back of his hand, large drops falling to the ground and stirring up dust.

He clenched his teeth so tightly he could hear them breaking. He stared wide-eyed as he closed the door, shutting out his crumbling dignity.

Separated by a wall, the biological father and a young man were having an intimate affair.

Chu Sinian gagged hoarsely, vomiting bile repeatedly, and slowly collapsed to the ground.

He was suffocating from extreme nausea, clutching his throat as he fought for his life.

Suddenly, shouts came from outside the door.

"Chu Zhuang, do you want me to die?!"

"It's one thing for you to sleep with women, but you actually sleep with men at home! What do you take me for?!"

Chu Sinian abruptly stopped her hand, tears streaming down her face.

He clutched his chest in distress, trying to sit up, crying out in unbearable pain, "Mommy! Mommy!"

He cried out in despair, seeking his mother's protection.

Unaware of the chilling silence outside the door.

He cried as he watched his mother open the door, her eyes nearly suffocating as she looked around the room, and her expression equally out of control and broken as she looked at him.

After that, Chu Sinian never saw his father again. His mother sent him to see a psychologist, while she locked herself in her room every day.

Chu Sinian hadn't changed. He went to the flower corridor full of spring colors, just like before. But he no longer placed the petals on the soil. Instead, he walked by without looking at anything and trampled the petals into pieces.

That year, he attended Kong Bo's birthday banquet, and quietly listened to the surging crowd and the guests' insincere congratulations under the lonely flowering tree.

I also listen to the gossip of others.

"Have you heard? Chu Zhuang has found a male mistress outside, and his wife is furious!"

"Of course I know! Back then, Zhong Lin was so sought after. She was a beautiful and powerful astronomical scientist with an independent personality, yet she was still snatched up by Chu Zhuang! Thinking about it now, it's truly a pity."

"Sigh, you don't know what happened between them. Chu Zhuang actually bought the naming rights to an unnamed planet to give to Zhong Lin as a gift, all to pursue her. How romantic!"

"So what if it's romantic? Look at what's happened to Zhong Lin. First, he compromised and gave up scientific research for Chu Zhuang, and now he's devoted himself to staying home and tending to the beautiful garden he built for her. What a waste!"

"Damn it! I fucking hate it when successful, ambitious women start families! It's a fucking tomb, I hate it so much..."

He didn't hear what was said after that, as the others gradually walked away.

Chu Sinian lowered his eyes to watch the falling flowers drift by, and noticed a figure approaching from the side of his line of sight.

"haven't seen you for a long time."

Chu Sinian recognized Chen Chi's voice; he had never contacted him before.

"What are you looking at?"

Chu Sinian ignored him and moved to the side.

"These flowers are beautiful."

Chu Sinian turned around, his back to him.

"Say something?"

Chu Sinian still ignored him.

Chen Chi forcefully turned his shoulder, preventing him from turning around. "Why are you pretending not to hear me?"

Chu Sinian pursed his lips unhappily.

Chen Chi paused for a few seconds and said, "You haven't brought me food in a long time. Didn't you say you'd make it up to me? Are you trying to starve me to death again?"

Chu Sinian glared at him coldly: "Get out of my way! What business is it of mine if you starve to death!"

Chen Chi unconsciously tightened his grip. "Didn't you say you would take responsibility for me?"

Chu Sinian tried to push him away but couldn't, so he kicked him to the ground without holding back, saying, "Why should I take responsibility for you? You're just a worthless life, so be it if you starve to death."

He coldly glanced at Chen Chi, who was lying on the ground staring at him.

Chen Chi was furious, his eyes turning a wolfish red. "No wonder your father cheated on his wife, it's because you're so vicious."

Chu Sinian screamed in disbelief and rushed forward with all his might to pin him to the ground. "Your dad beats you because you don't have a mother. You're a born bad seed!"

Chen Chi licked his canine teeth, then reached out and knocked him to the ground.

He was far more ruthless than Chu Sinian. He pinned the other down, staring at him with a sinister look, a hint of madness flickering in his eyes. "You promised to make it up to me. Isn't it too late to go back on your word now?"

Chu Sinian slapped him across the face. "I can turn my back on you whenever I want. What's the point of compensating for your worthless life?"

He saw a fist fiercely swinging towards his face, and instinctively closed his eyes. Immediately afterward, his face was slammed into the dirt, and a sharp pain shot through him.

He heard him say, "People like you deserve to have their families destroyed."

His mouth was open, and blood was flowing out. Chu Sinian, who would usually cry over minor pains, did not shed a tear.

She simply stared at him, her eyes sparkling like countless stars.

Chen Chi was still pulled away by the arriving crowd, and his father, who rushed over, slapped him mercilessly, causing him to bleed. "You shameless beast, do you know who you've messed with!"

Chu Sinian avoided being helped by others, wiped the blood off his face, lifted his twisted foot, and stared stubbornly at Chen Chi, saying, "People like you should be locked up in a mental hospital."

He limped out of Kong Bo's grand birthday banquet.

He cursed away everyone who wanted to please him, help him, or take him home, and dragged his half-limping leg for several hours.

In his mind, he saw his mother coming out of the closed room when he got home, his mother hugging him and comforting him, telling him not to be afraid, and his mother lovingly stroking him, saying not to cry, that his mother was here.

He was persistent, longing to find a long-lost warmth.

Chu Sinian walked home with anticipation, but the piercing pain in his legs did not slow his pace.

He walked over the fence, into the garden, wanting to find his mother.

Suddenly, panicked figures appeared before my eyes, and a jumble of terrified screams filled my ears.

He wanted to figure out what was going on, so he slowly and laboriously moved his swollen legs toward the flower-lined corridor.

Chu Sinian lowered his head and saw blood dripping down his shoe tips. Following the flow of blood, he saw his mother lying on the damp spring soil.

He saw the limbs broken and scattered, watched the mangled body attract insects, and saw the only intact body with lifeless eyes gazing at the starry sky.

Behind me, dazzling fireworks descended into the silent night.

Tears streamed down as the city fell.
