Chapter 178: Really Jealous

This is what it means to force something to happen.

City Lord Yu’s old face was almost stiff from smiling.

He was forced to find a way to get the attention of the two people on the stage. After all, no matter how much he said, it would be useless unless the barrier in front of the two people was removed.

Not far away, Chang Sui nudged Yu Ziheng with his arm and whispered, "Your father."

Yu Ziheng lowered his eyebrows and hid behind Ling Xinghua, trying to hide himself as much as possible.

Chang Sui was stunned for a moment, then took two steps forward and stood beside Ling Xinghua to help block this particularly abnormal junior brother.

Gu Xingyun stood there looking at the two people on the stage who seemed to be chatting and laughing. He caught a glimpse of Yan Huailiu's obviously gentle expression and couldn't help but frown.

His master seemed to be particularly tolerant towards his junior uncle.

He was not angry even when being scolded, and even gave away his favorite snack.

If one day his master were to choose between him and Junior Uncle...

He may not win.

Gu Xingyun looked at Baili Changhuan with a bad expression as he was slamming the table at Yan Huailiu.

Baili Changhuan seemed to have sensed something and turned his face around instantly. Gu Xingyun looked away the second before their eyes met.

City Lord Yu, who had been standing there for a while, was finally noticed.

Baili Changhuan quickly removed the soundproof barrier and reminded everyone in a voice loud enough for them to hear: "It seems that City Lord Yu is going to give a congratulatory speech to Senior Brother."

The smile on Yan Huailiu's face froze, and his neck was so stiff as if he had a stiff neck that he didn't dare to turn around and look at the audience.

The hand that was originally on the table slowly moved down and hid in the overly wide sleeve.

The body gradually tensed up, and the heat caused by excessive anxiety instantly dyed the exposed skin red.

Baili Changhuan, who was sitting closest to him, naturally sensed the sudden change in his aura.

She couldn't help but glance at him and gently tugged at the chain wrapped around her wrist.

Unexpectedly, the chain was suddenly tightened by Yan Huailiu, and his body was moved, and he was about to fall into Yan Huailiu's arms.

City Lord Yu was still muttering in the audience: "...I am honored to be able to attend this banquet. I wish Sect Master Yan great fortune and the future of the Yuxu Sect..."

A figure scurried past him, almost scaring City Lord Yu to death, and his words of blessing suddenly changed direction.

"Oh my... something scared me."

The surroundings fell into an eerie silence, but one could clearly feel the excitement of everyone in the melon field.

On the stage, Gu Xingyun appeared between the two people at some point.

Taking advantage of the table's obstruction, he quickly pushed Baili Changhuan away with one hand, and held Yan Huailiu's hand that was holding the iron chain with the other hand.

Baili Changhuan staggered after being pushed, and he barely managed to sit still by holding on to the table.

His face turned red and blue, and he wanted to curse someone but didn't know how to start.

"Master, let go." Gu Xingyun reminded in a low voice.

Feeling the familiar breath, Yan Huailiu's nervous mood slowly calmed down, and his almost stiff hands gradually relaxed under Gu Xingyun's comfort.

A group of people in the audience took advantage of the time when the dishes were being served to frantically exchange glances with their neighbors.

See it!

That kid surnamed Gu is so jealous.

He doesn't like it even when his nephew Baili gets a little closer to him when talking!

Sit directly between the two of them!

It's totally outrageous!

City Lord Yu wanted to bite off his tongue. Gu Xingyun probably didn’t hear what he just said, right?

He shouldn't have stood up on impulse!

There wasn't even anyone to help him ease the embarrassment!

Where on earth has that good-for-nothing brat of mine been hiding? He hasn't said a word until now!

Standing there any longer would surely be even more awkward. City Lord Yu gave a dry laugh and casually concluded, "On behalf of Shuijing City, I wish Sect Master Yan and the Yuxu Sect ever better things in the future."

Gu Xingyun's hands were interlocked with Yan Huailiu's under the table, and the iron chain transformed by spiritual power happened to be stuck between their hands.

Yan Huailiu's nervousness slowly receded. He turned around and nodded towards City Lord Yu: "Thank you."

City Lord Yu breathed a sigh of relief and returned to his seat as quickly as possible.

Whoever wants to step forward can do so. Next time, even if this group of people put a knife to his neck, he will not go out again!

This embarrassment is more painful than killing him.

Gu Xingyun keenly noticed that his master was in a bad mood. He was not sure whether it was because the commotion last night was too serious or if the Lingxu Mirror had some side effects.

After thinking for a moment, he turned around and used his free hand to pour a glass of wine for Baili Changhuan next to him.

His attitude was so respectful: "Junior Master, Master is not feeling well and may not be able to say a few words..."

For the first time in his life, Baili Changhuan felt the urge to overturn the table and kill someone.

I think he still felt sorry for this little nephew back then, and even in his dreams at midnight he would still curse Yan Huailiu for being a rude and abusive towards this good nephew.

He gave him medicine many times and even helped him out, provoking Yan Huailiu several times.

Now……

Where is his sword?

Let them all die!

Do you think he is blind?

I can't see you two shaking hands from this close, right?

You two are so loving here and yet you want him to work hard and do the hard labor. Why?

"Junior Master, besides Master, you are the only one who is most suitable to speak in this situation."

Gu Xingyun pushed the glass of wine closer with a well-behaved expression.

If his other hand wasn't secretly pinching Yan Huailiu's hand, Baili Changhuan would have really been fooled by him.

Following the principle of out of sight, out of mind—it was definitely not that he was worried about Yan Huailiu—Baili Changhuan was once again forced to take on the responsibility of entertaining the guests.

He glared at him, raised his head and drank the glass of wine. Then he suppressed his anger, forced a smile, and greeted those people politely.
