Chapter 78 Vision

A little sparrow flew in from the half-open window and tried to peck at the small fruits growing in the pot.

Yan Huailiu's attention was drawn to it, and he observed its every move curiously.

Some noise startled the little sparrow, and it got so nervous that it fell directly from the windowsill.

Yan Huailiu widened his eyes, making sure he didn't see it fly up, then quickly ran over and tilted his head to look down.

There were no sparrows in sight, but a cluster of flowers in full bloom came into view.

The flower girl below was skillfully tying flowers of similar colors together. She seemed to be in a good mood and was humming an unknown little tune.

Yan Huailiu's nervous heart calmed down a little, and he almost mustered up the courage to look away and look into the distance.

It was a street that I had only seen in scenic spots before I traveled through the book. It was quaint, without any harsh noise or cameras everywhere. There were only the sounds of the people in simple clothes communicating with each other in a friendly manner.

Every joy and anger on that face was so real.

There is also the scent of various flowers in the wind, mixed with the unique smell of fireworks.

Yan Huailiu suddenly felt like crying.

Someone looked up and saw him, and immediately exclaimed, "It's the Immortal Lord, Wangyue Immortal Lord has awakened!"

For a moment, all eyes were focused here, and Yan Huailiu's hands on the table gradually clenched.

The flower girl downstairs looked up and smiled at him, holding up a large bouquet of flowers. "So it's Immortal Wangyue who's here. I was wondering if the flowers were especially fragrant today. Are you feeling better? This is for you."

She stood on tiptoe and tried to lift the flowers up. Yan Huailiu thought about it and moved his fingertips slightly. The bouquet floated up and fell into his arms.

He nodded slightly: "Thank you."

"You're welcome. As long as you like it, Immortal Lord."

The flower girl smiled and moved her stall a little, trying to make way for the people who were gathering around.

Yan Huailiu was still not used to it and retreated with a red face.

A voice of complaint could be heard faintly from below: "Oh my, it's all your fault for being so fierce. Did you scare the Immortal Lord again?"

"Nonsense, it's obviously you who are too dirty. The Immortal King loves cleanliness so much, he definitely doesn't want to see you."

"I, I just came out of the fields. Hi, I'll go back and change my clothes!"

No name-calling, no insults, no misunderstandings.

Yan Huailiu lowered his head to smell the flowers in his arms, his eyes feeling a little hot.

very nice.

When Gu Xingyun entered the room again, he happened to see this scene.

He paused and closed the door to block out those gazes.

Then he walked up to Yan Huailiu, put down the things in his hand, and asked casually: "Master, where did you get these flowers?"

"It was given by the flower girl downstairs."

Yan Huailiu answered every question and turned his gaze to the pile of messy gadgets on the table: "What is this?"

Gu Xingyun looked at the flower with an extremely cold gaze. After a long while, he finally replied, "It was given to me by the people of this town."

"Oh, they're pretty good." Yan Huailiu picked up a ceramic pendant with a bell on it and shook it gently: "Is this a cat?"

Gu Xingyun frowned and identified it: "It seems so."

The drawing is so ugly, who cares if it’s a cat?

"Little Lightning will definitely like this. You can take it back and give it to him."

Yan Huailiu handed the thing over and motioned for Gu Xingyun to keep it.

Gu Xingyun put it in the bag with an expressionless face.

He just went out to gather information, so why didn't his master stick to him anymore after he came back?

He looked reluctant when he left, and he even kept his hands free, waiting for his master to hug him!

Gu Xingyun's dissatisfaction was about to overflow, but Yan Huailiu didn't notice his little thoughts.

"What did you find out?"

Gu Xingyun muttered something, pulled a stool and sat down opposite Yan Huailiu. As if it was not enough, he moved the stool forward until their thighs were touching, and he was satisfied.

Yan Huailiu was not used to such an oppressive posture. He coughed and wanted to step back, but Gu Xingyun held his hand.

"Master, this is Dongyue Town, do you remember?"

Yan Huailiu shook his head decisively.

He wouldn't lie and say he remembered!

There was no mention of this passage in the original book, and he had no idea that his original body had been here.

Since I've already used amnesia as an excuse, there's no need to put myself in unnecessary trouble.

Gu Xingyun sighed, "I really don't remember, Master. We are here because you used your own blood to activate the teleportation talisman you left for the people."

"Oh? Oh." Yan Huailiu's brain worked rapidly and he quickly figured out the whole story.

"The people of Dongyue Town said something strange had happened in the nearby town two months ago. Late at night, they could hear a baby crying by the river. Curious people went to check, but the baby had disappeared. Every two or three days, it would reappear by the river, naked and unconscious."

Yan Huailiu felt like he was listening to a ghost story. He was so nervous that he didn't dare to swallow, and his hand unconsciously pinched Gu Xingyun's thigh.

Gu Xingyun almost jumped up, his eyes quickly scanned over, suppressed the secret joy in his heart, and continued speaking.

"Officials investigated, and doctors examined those people, but they found no clues. Aside from being a little weak, there wasn't anything wrong with them."

"But a month ago, the same thing happened in Dongyue Town. It lasted for about seven or eight days. There were also cries of babies being heard near the river. The locals, having heard the news long ago, didn't go out to join in the fun. But every night someone would disappear from their home and reappear by the river a few days later."

Warm breath permeated the fabric and reached his legs. Gu Xingyun's lips curled slightly. "Originally, it wasn't life-threatening, and the townspeople didn't take it seriously. They even joked about it. But a few days ago, the butcher's child was found by the river with a bloody hole in his neck and all sorts of strange wounds all over his body. The doctors tried their best but couldn't save him."

Yan Huailiu's scalp was numb and he stuttered: "How can you still laugh at such a tragic situation?"

Come on, no one says this with a smile!

Could it be that the little villain has already become a psychopath at this time?

How can you not take human life seriously!

Gu Xingyun was stunned for a moment, and seeing the disapproval and even fear in Yan Huailiu's eyes, he explained without thinking: "Master, I didn't want to laugh, but you tickled me and I couldn't help it."

He pointed to his thigh. Yan Huailiu took a look and immediately retracted his hand: "Sorry, I didn't notice."

Gu Xingyun breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that there was no longer that uncomfortable look in his eyes.

He really didn't care much, but he couldn't let his master find out that he didn't care.

"Well, those missing people, are they men or women?"

Yan Huailiu raised a key question.
