"General Manager, please don't take their words to heart..."
Upon hearing this, Ji Yao brushed aside the hair that was blocking her view and tucked it behind her ear, smiling radiantly, "Don't worry, I'm fine. If I couldn't even tolerate this, why would I have taken over the company?"
These words I'm saying today really don't amount to much.
After all, they were all influential figures, and had worked with her father for many years. No matter how dissatisfied they were, they would still give her some face, just like just now, even though they were all clearly furious.
I still forced myself to endure it.
It really opened her eyes. She thought everyone in this circle was a hypocrite like Boss Zhang, but she didn't expect there were still some shameful "people" out there!
Qiu Yun paused for a moment. That's true. After all, the general manager had endured all the harsh words from General Manager Zhang and the others last night without saying a word. If it weren't for those last words, the general manager wouldn't have broken ties with them.
"But, wouldn't continuing this transformation lead to...?"
"Continue, I don't mind." Ji Yao glanced at her with a half-smile, knowing the worry in her heart... and even in everyone's heart.
Qiu Yun felt a chill; she felt that their general manager seemed to be increasingly exuding the aura of someone in a superior position.
Doesn't it? Especially that look in his eyes, it chilled her to the bone.
“I know your concerns, but I have also studied the company’s situation. If we don’t transform, we will be buried in the tide of this era. If we continue to transform, we may collapse in the process.”
"However, sometimes you have to be prepared to die to survive. Right now, the company is like prey on a barbecue grill. We have no choice but to keep fighting. Otherwise, we can only sit and wait to die."
"Will the board agree to your choice?"
Ji Yao smiled and walked to the floor-to-ceiling window without saying a word. Looking down from the several floors below, she saw a large square bustling with people.
She pointed to the square below, "Look."
Qiu Yun followed her hand and saw only a dark mass of figures. She was nearsighted and honest…
She honestly didn't see anything special; besides a blurry mess, there was nothing else.
Ji Yao smiled calmly and asked her unhurriedly, "What did you see?"
"I saw... a lot of people." Qiu Yun was not sure. "I'm nearsighted, General Manager, so I'm not sure what I saw. I really couldn't see anything but a dark mass."
"No,"
"?" Qiu Yun was completely bewildered, her mind filled with big question marks.
"That's called altitude." Ji Yao smiled knowingly at her bewildered expression and explained in detail.
Qiu Yun was increasingly confused. She felt she understood less and less what their general manager was saying, especially since his words were becoming more and more cryptic. "Height?"
Ji Yao smiled enigmatically, her gaze returning to the people overlooking the square. A cryptic smile played on her lips. "Yes," she said, "when someone habitually stands on high, looking down on others, if you were to force them to surrender, resign themselves to their fate, and become an ordinary person, what would you choose?"
How could someone who has lived in the pyramids for years be expected to be sent back to the lowest level?
It will feel like a huge letdown, especially for those arrogant board members. How could they possibly accept this fact?
“I would choose…” Qiu Yun’s eyes lit up, and she smiled, “to fight to the death.”
Ji Yao gave her a "you're teachable" look, a smug smile playing on her lips. "So, from the very beginning, I had the upper hand on this battlefield. They had no choice but to bow down to me," because they wouldn't accept falling from the top of the pyramid to an ordinary person, so they could only cling to this last straw...
Qiu Yun felt reassured by Ji Yao's words, but then suddenly remembered something else, "General Manager, are you still going to the dinner party tonight?"
Ji Yao lowered her eyes, a dangerous smile playing on her lips, and readily agreed, "Go, why not go? I want to see just how many people are willing to be heartless and kick someone when they're down."
