Chapter 205 He'll die sooner or later

For a fleeting moment, he actually felt lust for her, even...wanting to disregard everything and pin her down...

Mo Yanyu closed her eyes, pressed her temples, and listened to the intermittent groans from the other end of the line with a slight headache…

As a normal man, he couldn't possibly remain indifferent...

Especially when the other person is Yao Yao, whom he has always loved.

That's right. Even if he didn't want to admit it and kept avoiding the issue, the fact was that he had never forgotten her, and even... still loved her.

The scenes he had dreamed about countless nights had now become reality, but he felt as if his feet were made of lead, unable to move at all.

Unable to escape, and unable to justify taking advantage of someone in distress…

While he was fighting on this side, Ji Yao, who was enduring unbearable torment, seemed to have found a sliver of clarity amidst this torture!

Before he could react, she suddenly grabbed the fruit knife from the bedside table and, without hesitation, slashed her wrist.

Then, he heard the sound of a knife hitting the ground...

When Mo Yanyu turned around again, he could no longer hold his breath, because the bright red blood flowing down Ji Yao's wrist stained his eyes, and he could see nothing but the blood dripping onto the floor.

His eyes reddened with anger, and his gaze was no longer calm and indifferent, but rather filled with a complexity and heartache that Ji Yao could not understand.

Ji Yao found the last two words she had interpreted amusing, and tears streamed silently down her cheeks...

So he wasn't indifferent after all? So he does feel sorry for himself after all?

Or did she see it wrong? How could someone as calm and composed as him have such emotions?

She thought that if it weren't for her allergy, he probably would have already yelled at her...

Mo Yanyu's expression stiffened. "Why?"

"Mo Yanyu, if you don't love me, I ask you to leave now." Ji Yao hugged her legs tightly with both hands, her forehead resting on her knees, her voice heavy with nasal tone, "Mo Yanyu, go, leave now."

He wouldn't even touch her at a time like this, even after she had begged him so desperately. In the end, he resolutely pushed her away.

So, they no longer love each other to this extent?

She wasn't completely unaware; she simply wanted to succumb to this temptation, even if it meant resorting to any means necessary. All she wanted was to stay by his side, so she let her desires ferment and control her mind...

Mo Yanyu's eyes flickered slightly. She didn't care that her clothes were dirty after being pushed to the ground. She stared intently at the slender and fragile figure with deep eyes.

He had considered distancing himself from her...

But... it seems impossible...

The blood from her right hand stained her dress and her cheeks, which were already flushed, and now they were turning even redder.

Mo Yanyu's eyes darkened. Without a word, he took out a roll of gauze from his ever-present first-aid kit, strode up to her, and forcefully pulled out her right hand.

Gently bandage her right hand.

His gentle movements seemed to treat her as the person he loved most, and she also caught the occasional flash of heartache in his eyes.

Ji Yao smiled sadly, tears streaming down her face.

Why does he still treat her like this, even at a time like this, making her feel like she's always a possibility...?

Does this give her the illusion that she is the most precious person in his heart?

The more she interacted with him, the more she couldn't let go...

But she was tired... She really didn't have the strength or energy to keep up with him!

"Mo Yanyu, I'm asking you one last time." Ji Yao still held onto a sliver of hope, gazing at him expectantly, her eyes pleading for him as her last lifeline, which silenced Mo Yanyu.

She asked again, "Is there really no possibility?"

Even if it's just to give myself an explanation, even if it's just one last attempt...

She desperately wanted to keep him, didn't want to break up, even though he had never loved her...

After waiting for nearly three minutes, Mo Yanyu still didn't say a word. His deep eyes stared at her, his cold and indifferent expression unchanged, showing no sign of being moved in the slightest by her words...

Ji Yao's heart sank, and her grip on his hand gradually loosened, one by one... until finally it fell limply in despair, and her eyes dimmed.

She sighed softly, "I understand."

He lowered his brows and gave a self-deprecating laugh. He knew the answer all too well, yet he still humiliated himself time and time again.

She really doesn't learn her lesson!

Hot tears streamed down her cheeks and into her mouth. She realized tears weren't just salty, they were bitter too…

She shouldn't have been so foolish as to think there was still a possibility between them because of his momentary tenderness; she shouldn't have...lost herself to his rare moments of gentleness and consideration.

"You can go now." Ji Yao smiled, a smile mixed with tears, so sorrowful, so heartbreaking.

Mo Yanyu didn't move.

"Can't you hear me? I told you to leave." Ji Yao growled at him in frustration.

The thing she hates most right now is seeing him!

Mo Yanyu frowned. From her angle, she couldn't see any emotion in his eyes. She only knew that his expression was indifferent and she couldn't tell any emotion. "You haven't completely gotten rid of the effects of the drug yet. I'll take you to the hospital."

At the same time, there were no emotional fluctuations...

“I don’t need your help. Just like you, it’s over between us. You can now focus on protecting our country.” Ji Yao forced back her tears, her heart aching, but she still endured the pain and said, word by word, “From now on, my life and death, my marriage, will have nothing to do with you.”
