The next day.
When Mo Qing woke up again, Ji Muhan was still asleep. She sat up quietly.
He touched his forehead with his right hand, then touched his own forehead with his hand, and compared the two.
Mo Qing breathed a slight sigh of relief. The fever was much better than last night. Although she still had a slight fever, it should be fine now.
Special forces soldiers are indeed physically strong; they recover almost completely after a good night's sleep.
“Ji Muhan, we will definitely be able to leave here,” Mo Qing said, her gaze firm as she looked at Ji Muhan’s sleeping face.
If what initially attracted her was Ji Muhan's pleasant voice and face.
That's no longer the case, or perhaps the longer she spends with Ji Muhan, the more she discovers of his shining qualities.
She no longer simply liked his face.
She preferred Ji Muhan, who shared her brother's faith and even fought for it.
She leaned down, stopped beside his ear, and silently opened her mouth, uttering six words, but no sound came out…
Ji Muhan woke up from a dream that felt both familiar and strange to him.
It's familiar because he's had this dream countless times over the years, but it's strange because this time, there are more fragments later on.
In his dream, he reached out and helped a girl near a coffee shop. The girl had long, ink-black hair, and the strange sense of familiarity washed over him again.
The scene suddenly shifts; this time, he sees an unexpected intruder in the bathroom.
A hint of panic, helplessness, and guilt flashed in the girl's beautiful eyes.
Their eyes met.
Mo Qing?
The name involuntarily popped into his mind.
When he woke up, he was still a little disoriented. How long ago was it that he had slept so peacefully and soundly? How long ago was it that he hadn't been woken up by nightmares?
Why would I dream about her?
He couldn't remember Rao's face, but he was certain that the owner of those eyes was her.
Those beautiful, captivating eyes seemed etched into his mind.
I've seen those eyes filled with tears, like a misty rain.
I've seen those eyes, so cunning like a fox's, and that mischievous, sly look.
I've seen those eyes suddenly shine like a thousand stars.
I've seen those eyes filled with shock and heartache.
This time, it seemed he didn't need to consciously remember; it was as if he remembered someone for the first time.
No, he should remember her talking eyes.
Ji Muhan rubbed her forehead, and after a moment her eyes focused. She looked up and saw Mo Qing hanging in mid-air. Her brow twitched.
"Mo Qing."
"Oh, you're awake!" Mo Qing smiled with delight upon hearing his voice and turned to look at him.
"I just wanted to find something to eat since you were still asleep."
Mo Qing climbed halfway up the cave using vines, and then hung in mid-air talking to him.
Can you imagine a girl dangling in mid-air, oblivious to her surroundings and grinning mischievously? It's incredibly nerve-wracking…
Ji Muhan's eyelids twitched at the sight, and she said in an exceptionally cold voice, "Get down."
Upon hearing this, Mo Qing's eyes darted around. "I can't go down, Hanhan."
Ji Muhan, “…”
Did they really think he was easy to fool? He was quick and agile when he attacked earlier.
"Hanhan, why don't you catch me down here?" Mo Qing smiled mischievously, her voice sweet.
"Then hang it up there." Ji Muhan glanced at her indifferently.
The girl's reasoning was so clumsy that it was obvious at a glance, or perhaps she never intended to hide her true intentions.
"Hanhan, you're so heartless." Mo Qing stared at him with wide eyes, feigning disbelief, then looked very aggrieved.
The girl spoke in a soft, sweet voice, more like she was being coquettish.
"Get down." Ji Muhan took a few big steps to her and opened her arms.
"Huh?" Mo Qing was taken aback, her dull eyes losing a trace of their usual cunning.
He then realized that he meant he wanted to jump down himself.
"If you're not coming down, I'm leaving." Ji Muhan frowned slightly, seemingly a little impatient.
"How could I bear to let you catch it!" Mo Qing realized his intention and grinned broadly.
He slid down from above in a flash, his movements incredibly swift and agile...
Ji Muhan, "..." I knew she was lying again...
"You're my precious darling, my idol. I pamper you so much, how could I bear to let you do something like this?" Mo Qing said to him without any shame.
Not to mention he was also injured.
Ji Muhan's eyes flickered, and she listened silently to the man's outburst, offering no comment on Mo Qing's words.
"Hanhan." Mo Qing approached, smiling sweetly as she tried to take his arm.
He swung her hand away with practiced ease, a move he had made countless times over the years.
"Hanhan, you weren't like this yesterday! You really are a heartless person who uses someone and then discards them." Mo Qing pouted, feigning grievance, her beautiful eyes fixed on him.
As soon as she finished speaking, Ji Muhan's eyelids twitched, and she watched her act silently.
Use and then discard?
Mo Qing couldn't help but reveal a triumphant smile, her perfectly white teeth reflected on her lips, which were bright red and beautiful, truly a case of red lips and white teeth.
Ji Muhan's eyes flashed, and she couldn't help but say something.
"So ugly."
Mo Qing: "..."
If she didn't look in the mirror every morning, I would have actually believed your nonsense.
"I... I'll give you my clothes first." Her face flushed slightly as she said this.
