Chapter Fifty-Nine: This is my mission, and I must complete it.

Unable to pull her hand away, Mo Xiaoqing quickly raised her right foot and kicked the man's head unexpectedly. The man dodged her attack and released his grip on her arm.

Ji Muhan's situation wasn't easy either. She was surrounded by five or six people. Although dealing with them was more than enough, it would still take some time to finish them off. During this time, she also had to spare some energy to check on Mo Xiaoqing's situation from time to time.

Clearly, Mo Xiaoqing was agile. Although not exceptionally so, she was still quite good for an average woman and could handle the man in a short time.

However, the man she was fighting was also quite skilled, so the two remained locked in a stalemate, neither able to defeat the other. As time went on, this became somewhat disadvantageous for Mo Xiaoqing.

But the man kicked her in the knee, causing her to fall to her knees in a rather disheveled manner. He then struck her hard with his hand, causing Mo Xiaoqing to groan in pain.

Girls are generally inferior to men in terms of strength and physical strength, so this is already a disadvantage for Mo Xiaoqing.

Ji Muhan frowned slightly, wanting to step forward, but the two remaining people blocked her way. However, before they could make a move, Ji Muhan easily knocked them down, leaving them kneeling on the ground unable to move.

He swiftly drew a dagger from his waist and shot it without hesitation in Mo Xiaoqing's direction.

While Mo Xiaoqing was still clutching her stomach, she watched helplessly as a trace of bright red blood spilled from the mouth of the armed man who had originally intended to end her life with a single shot.

One or two drops landed right on her eyelashes. Mo Xiaoqing blinked blankly, clearly stunned by the scene before her. After all, she was still a seventeen-year-old girl who had never seen such a scene before. She could only watch helplessly as the assembly molecule was about to collapse beside her.

Then, her vision was blocked by a beautiful, large hand, and she could clearly hear the person's cold voice beside her, which sounded somewhat unstable and contained some indescribable emotions: "Don't look, close your eyes."

His usually clear and pleasant voice sounded strangely hoarse at this moment.

Mo Xiaoqing took a deep breath and forced a relaxed smile. "I'm not afraid."

She knew that Ji Muhan might seem aloof, but she was actually quite kind to her, both when they first met and in the current situation.

She knew he was a soldier, and she knew Ji Muhan covered her eyes for her own good. That was enough for her; everything else... she could try her best to ignore it.

"Hmm." Ji Muhan glanced casually at the armed man lying motionless on the ground and responded with an ambiguous expression.

He wasn't worried that she would be scared, but given her age, he was concerned that she might have nightmares if she saw this.

A moment later, Mo Xiaoqing heard two more muffled groans, as if a knife had entered and exited her body.

She didn't open her eyes once during this time, obediently keeping them closed and waiting for Ji Muhan.

"Go, don't look back." Ji Muhan's breathing was unusually disordered, but she still made sure to give the instructions.

"Okay," Mo Xiaoqing replied.

Then he led Mo Xiaoqing away very quickly. He was not familiar with the terrain, but every minute he wasted would be more dangerous, until they reached a corner where he didn't know whether it was east or west.

He pulled a dagger from the outside of his calf, swiftly dealt with the restless venomous snake, then pulled the dagger out, wiped the venom off with vine leaves, and put it away.

He continued to flee with Mo Xiaoqing.

In the dark jungle, Mo Xiaoqing felt no different from a blind person, but Ji Muhan pulled her along very fast as if she had night vision, and only slowed down slightly after running for a while.

"I...I can't walk anymore." Even after slowing down, Mo Xiaoqing was still panting after half an hour. She draped her arm over a thick tree branch lying across the ground, her entire upper body weight pressing down on it like a spoiled child.

"We are still within the danger zone." Even after walking this far without stopping, he spoke calmly, without any obvious signs of panting.

"Hanhan, I really can't go on. Can I just rest for five minutes?" Mo Xiaoqing gasped for breath, looking at the handsome man in front of her who was still as refined as ever after not seeing him for a few days, and whispered her request.

She felt that if she kept running like this, she would be exhausted to death before she even died at the hands of those people.

She has never run at such extreme levels before.

Ji Muhan had always known that Mo Xiaoqing's eyes were very beautiful, especially when she was looking at someone intently; the purity in her eyes was captivating.

Even now, though she looks a bit disheveled, her eyes are still so bright and beautiful, as clear as a lake.

Ji Muhan's eyes flickered slightly. She looked away from her and said, "You can rest here for a while."

"Ji Muhan, where are you going?" Mo Xiaoqing looked at Ji Muhan turning around and walking back, feeling a little panicked.

"Go back." Ji Muhan slowed her pace slightly and calmly uttered the two words.

"Go back for what?" Mo Xiaoqing looked at him in disbelief, and it took her a while to find her voice. "But do you know that if those people catch you, they won't let you go easily?"

They barely escaped death and shook off those people, and now he's telling her he wants to go back?

"Mission." Ji Muhan casually uttered two words.

In fact, if it weren't for that accident just now, he would have rushed over to continue searching for people as soon as his teammates took over.

Although this method of searching is incredibly foolish, like looking for a needle in a haystack, they don't have much time left.

"I won't let you go back." Mo Xiaoqing stepped forward quickly, grabbed Ji Muhan's hand, and frowned anxiously.

She didn't care about any mission; all she knew was that he was the person she loved, and she couldn't let anything happen to him!

Those people are definitely still searching for them thoroughly in the woods. She didn't dare to think about going back now...

"Find a place to hide. My people will be coming for you soon," Ji Muhan said, frowning slightly, her answer seemingly unrelated to the question.

"I won't let you go. I don't care about your mission or anything. Ji Muhan, all I know is that I can't let you go back today." Otherwise, if something happens to you, she might never forgive herself for the rest of her life.

"This isn't the capital city, don't act like a child." Ji Muhan tried to shake off her hand, but didn't want her to hold it so tightly. She scolded with a stern face, "This is my mission, and I must complete it."

"But what you just did has already alerted the enemy. Going back like this is just suicide." Mo Xiaoqing said angrily without thinking.

As soon as she finished speaking, she regretted it, closed her eyes briefly, and said, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean it that way." She was just worried about him…
