Chapter Seventy-Three: But some things are quite surprising.

Seeing that he didn't believe her, Mo Xiaoqing continued to move closer to him, stopping abruptly when she was less than a centimeter from his nose. She covered her cheek with her right hand, staring at him with her beautiful eyes, exuding a devilish charm, and said with an innocent and pure expression, "Can you bear to let such a cute, beautiful, and kind girl like me fall into the hands of that old witch and be tormented by her?"

"Why would you be reluctant?" Ji Muhan asked without even blinking or thinking.

That clean and sincere appearance couldn't be more genuine!

Mo Xiaoqing was furious. She hadn't expected that her charm would be completely useless against him. So she simply stopped pretending to be pitiful and, without thinking twice, hugged his waist and said shamelessly and confidently, "I don't care. I'm going to stick with you. I'm going to sleep with you. Even if you kick me out, I won't leave."

"!"

"!"

Sleep together?

Qi Guang and Shen Shaolin listened carefully for a moment, then exchanged a glance, both clearly seeing the word "shock" on each other's faces.

Of course, a hint of panic appeared in Ji Muhan's usually aloof and indifferent eyes. To hide the strangeness in her heart, she subconsciously scolded, "Nonsense."

"Hehehe." Mo Xiaoqing burst out laughing.

The girl's melodious voice, like the sound of silver bells, quickly entered his heart like an electric current, so fast that he couldn't grasp it, and his breathing became disordered for a moment.

A hint of annoyance and embarrassment flashed across Ji Muhan's usually aloof face as she turned her head and coughed lightly.

"Hanhan, what were you thinking about just now?" Mo Xiaoqing touched his earlobe curiously, as if she had discovered a new continent.

This was the first time she had ever seen Ji Muhan's ears turn bright red.

To be honest, she's really cute.

Ji Muhan gave her a cold look and tried to get up.

But Mo Xiaoqing, who had noticed him beforehand, caught him with lightning speed.

Realizing he had gone too far with his flirting, he explained sheepishly, "What I mean is, if I sleep with her, it's not that I'm afraid it will cause a conflict, but if you let me sleep alone, aren't you afraid something might happen to me?"

Mo Xiaoqing looked at him pitifully, her beautiful big eyes blinking, her soft voice accusing him, "You are a soldier of the people, loyal to the country, and I am also a pillar of the country's future. Can you really bear to let such a weak little flower bud like me fall into danger?"

Ji Muhan, “…” You’re crazy.

Shen Shaolin chuckled.

The little girl was quite eloquent; it was the first time he had ever seen Ji Muhan speechless and unable to utter a word.

Compared to being stunned the first time, Mo Xiaoqing is now much more promising. She is truly a teachable child, and it's worth it for him to be her inside man.

Ji Muhan stood up without a word and walked over to the two people who were engrossed in eavesdropping.

"Have you finished listening?" His gaze was cold.

The voice, devoid of any warmth, sent shivers down their spines, causing them to swallow hard involuntarily.

"Ah, the scenery here is nice." Qi Guang scratched the back of his head awkwardly.

fart.

It was pitch black.

There wasn't even a ghost in sight.

Besides, what scenery is there in these deep mountains and forests?

Shen Shaolin's lips twitched, and with great tact, he covered Qi Guang's mouth with his hand to stop him from saying anything even more foolish.

Shen Shaolin smiled meaningfully and winked at Mo Xiaoqing, saying, "You two continue. I still have to keep watch, so we won't disturb you any longer."

Seeing the two of them run away faster than mice, Ji Muhan knew they must have misunderstood something. She then looked away, glanced at Mo Xiaoqing who was craning her neck, and warned, "Mo Xiaoqing, don't push your luck."

Mo Xiaoqing blinked and consciously withdrew her paw, looking utterly obedient.

However, Ji Muhan knew that the little girl was quirky and mischievous, and would lie without thinking. This obedient feeling was just an illusion given by her appearance.

Mo Xiaoqing noticed that Ji Muhan's footsteps were a little disordered as she walked away, and she mischievously curled her lips into a smile.

She just loves teasing him.

She knew that with Hanhan's cold nature, he would never stay and let her lean on him, but she just liked seeing him speechless and unable to say a word, at least he was no longer the cold person who kept people at arm's length.

Even when we stand together, our hearts are always worlds apart, separated by an insurmountable distance that we can neither cross nor get closer to.

Covered by his coat, she was clearly exhausted from dealing with the series of events that had occurred over the past two days. She had barely closed her eyes when an overwhelming sense of sleepiness washed over her, and she fell asleep in no time.

"Asleep?" Shen Shaolin smiled as he saw Ji Muhan sit down beside him.

"Hmm." Ji Muhan responded faintly, her voice as cold and indifferent as ever.

The little girl must have been tired, because she fell asleep soon after.

"Actually, I've always been curious about something, Mu Han. What kind of family could raise someone with a personality like Mo Xiaoqing?" Shen Shaolin turned around and looked at Mo Xiaoqing, his gaze lingering on the coat covering her head. His eyes flickered.

A pure and innocent smile, a touch of cleverness, and a soft, gentle voice.

Such a pure and beautiful child must come from a much simpler family than these people; you can tell at a glance that she must be pampered and spoiled at home.

Who wouldn't want to cherish and pamper her after seeing her?

Only Ji Muhan, that oddball, always remained indifferent to others.

Ji Muhan silently took out a cigarette from her pocket, lit it, and took a deep drag, as if trying to soothe the slight ripples of her restlessness.

Too lazy to bother with Shen Shaolin, he realized that the little girl and Shen Shaolin were somewhat similar in personality, both constantly coming up with mischievous ideas.

"When I first saw her, I thought she was a spoiled young lady who didn't know any better. I didn't expect her to be such a hardworking young lady. She's quite impressive."

Shen Shaolin also noticed some details. For example, Mo Xiaoqing and Ji Muhan both had mysophobia, but hers seemed to be a little milder, and she didn't make any noise when she ate.

But in the past two days, this pampered girl has changed his impression of her and made him look at her in a new light.

In the afternoon, the little girl's steps were noticeably uneven, and her walking posture was a bit strange. It was obvious that her soles were chafed so badly that she couldn't walk.

I never expected that she would still keep quiet about it until now.

He thought she was a spoiled brat, but it turns out he was wrong.

Upon hearing this, Ji Muhan's heart stirred, but he quickly suppressed that strange feeling, his calm and collected demeanor revealing nothing of his thoughts.

"Mu Han, what do you think?" Shen Shaolin raised an eyebrow and asked teasingly.

"Boring." Ji Muhan stubbed out her cigarette indifferently, turned around and left.

Shen Shaolin watched him leave, pondered for a moment, then understood and smiled silently.
