Chapter Sixty-Four: Miss, this condition isn't worth it.

“There’s a precedent for this.” Shen Shaolin raised an eyebrow, nodded his chin toward where Qi Guang was sitting, and shrugged at Mo Xiaoqing with a rather innocent expression. “I wouldn’t dare to make a fool of myself.”

Mo Xiaoqing, "..."

Even though she knew he was deliberately mocking her, she still couldn't help but feel a bit taken aback.

It was rare for Shen Shaolin to see Mo Xiaoqing choke on her words. He curled his lips into a smile. Her fair skin didn't look like the complexion a special forces soldier should have.

When a pair of almond-shaped eyes stares intently at someone, it gives the impression that the person can only see that one person.

Both were dressed in black, but on Shen Shaolin, the black suit made him appear less cold and more gentle than on Ji Muhan.

His eyes, seemingly smiling yet not smiling, were ambiguous, just like his third brother's, making it impossible to discern his true thoughts.

He fits the current aesthetic of pretty boys, especially with his upturned eyebrows, which gives him the air of a cunning old fox, making him even more irresistible.

However, Mo Xiaoqing was not at all swayed by the beauty before her. Instead, she calmly turned her head to look at Ji Muhan, who was surveying the terrain alone. His tall and upright figure still moved her heart. It seemed that as long as she saw him, she didn't need to worry about anything.

Even though she is still in such danger, Mo Xiaoqing feels incredibly at ease whenever she sees him.

"How about you go to Ji Muhan's place and get his water bottle for me? We'll call it even if you forget the favor you owed me last time, okay?" Mo Xiaoqing's eyes darted around, and she turned her gaze to Shen Shaolin, speaking slowly and gently in a soft, pleasant voice.

She still wore an innocent expression, but Shen Shaolin knew that this little girl was not as well-behaved and harmless as she seemed; she was a man-eating flower with a belly full of evil intentions.

Listen to what the hell they're saying!

Shen Shaolin gave her a deep look, a smile full of interest on his lips, and teased her in his usual tone, "Miss, this condition is not worth it."

If Ji Muhan happens to be there, then this show won't be very interesting!

He just wanted to watch the show, not get involved.

Especially considering Ji Muhan's cunning nature, he said that he would rather offend the whole world than be remembered by him.

The little girl looks perfectly well-behaved, but she's actually quite mischievous. Now that she's got this idea, will she give up so easily?

No, no, no.

Of course not!

"But this request isn't difficult. As long as you bring me his water bottle, I'll take care of the rest myself. I absolutely won't let him pin this on you." Mo Xiaoqing continued to persuade him with her emotional appeal.

"The water bottle is in his backpack, I dare not take it." Upon hearing this, Shen Shaolin glanced at Ji Muhan not far away. His face was as aloof as ever, exuding an icy indifference that kept people at a distance, and he gave an ambiguous smile.

"I believe you have a way." Mo Xiaoqing grinned at him, her small dimples appearing and disappearing, making her look quite beautiful.

Shen Shaolin was caught off guard and his face turned pale with cuteness. "..." Don't try to be cute with him. It's shameful and useless.

...

"Ji Muhan, I think I was bitten by a snake, what should I do?" Mo Xiaoqing felt a slight sting on her calf. When she looked down, what she saw startled her. Her voice froze, and she instinctively asked Ji Muhan for help.

The little girl's anxious yet somewhat aggrieved voice made Ji Muhan's eyelids twitch.

After walking back in a few big strides, I squatted down and found that there were indeed two small wounds on her right calf, which were snake bites.

But the wound looked very shallow, as if it had just broken the skin, so she must have noticed it before the snake could bite down deeply.

However, this wound—

"Hanhan, am I going to die?" Mo Xiaoqing's words interrupted his thoughts. He bit his lip, looking somewhat uneasy.

Upon hearing the word "death," Ji Muhan's eyes quickly turned cold. "It's not poisonous, you won't die."

Mo Xiaoqing stammered and didn't say anything, feeling a little embarrassed.

Seeing this, Ji Muhan's eyes grew even colder. "There are creatures everywhere here that will suck your blood. Moreover, in such an undeveloped primeval forest, you could encounter any kind of danger. All sorts of venomous snakes and ferocious beasts could appear around you. Thorny plants are everywhere. Getting pricked isn't a big deal, but you might get poisoned by other creatures on the thorns. In short, don't get hurt."

Ji Muhan's gaze was cold and indifferent. The last three words were not a word of advice or concern, but more like a warning!

Don't get hurt, or no one will care about you! It seems that rescuing her was already a rare act of kindness on his part.

"Oh." Mo Xiaoqing lowered her eyes and muttered unwillingly.

Tsk,

That's really heartless.

I don't know if it's revenge for her taking it upon herself to kiss him before, but now she's being increasingly cold towards me.

but--

Mo Xiaoqing covered her bright red lips with her fingers, a smile playing on her lips, her beautiful eyes blinking.

Unrepentantly thinking,

Even if she had to do it all over again, she would still do the same thing.

After all, to die beneath a peony is to die a romantic death, even as a ghost.

Looking at Ji Muhan's tall figure, she couldn't help but whistle in her heart.

"This is the first time he's ever said so much in one go." Seeing Mo Xiaoqing's flushed face, Shen Shaolin winked at her mischievously and teased her.

At least in front of his brothers, he had never spoken such a long speech to anyone in private, except when assigning tasks.

Moreover, Ji Muhan himself hadn't noticed, but the little girl said she'd been bitten by a snake. If that's still considered heartless, then he had nothing more to say...

Mo Xiaoqing wasn't dwelling on that issue; she was more concerned about something else: "Did you get it?"

Shen Shaolin gave her an OK sign from behind.

Mo Xiaoqing blinked, about to grin.

Let's rewind to five minutes earlier, when she and Shen Shaolin were still chatting—

"Believe me?" Shen Shaolin raised an eyebrow, gave her a meaningful look, and then changed the subject, "But I don't believe in myself."

"I have a way." Mo Xiaoqing's eyes flashed, and she smiled maliciously.

Just by listening to her voice, you can tell what mischief she's up to; she's like a cunning little fox.

But…

Shen Shaolin's gaze swept back and forth between Ji Muhan and Mo Xiaoqing without making a sound, and then he curled his lips in an ambiguous way.

Tsk tsk, but this is just to his liking!

So the two of them conspired together again.

After hearing the "method" Mo Xiaoqing whispered in his ear, Shen Shaolin frowned slightly, his expression skeptical. "So easy?"

Ji Muhan isn't so easily fooled...

"Of course, how difficult could it be if it weren't that simple? All I wanted was a drink of water." Mo Xiaoqing blinked innocently.
