"Hanhan, do you think what I said is right?" Mo Xiaoqing walked up to him, tilted her fair and pretty face up, and stared straight at him.
Her beautiful big eyes crinkle into crescent moons when she smiles, making her exceptionally pretty.
Ji Muhan remained indifferent, unmoved by her "honey trap," and glanced at Mo Xiaoqing with calm, detached eyes. "You lead the way, the rest of you advance quickly in battle formation."
Mo Xiaoqing continued to glare at him angrily, muttering a complaint, "Why are you being so fierce? I'm not your teammate."
He said that, but his body still told him to walk to the front.
Ji Muhan's eyes lingered on Mo Xiaoqing for less than five seconds before she quickly looked away.
Her personality is such that if he softens his tone even slightly, she will press her advantage and push her luck.
I don't know who raised this little girl to be so spoiled, clever, and a bit vengeful.
If you soften your heart even slightly, you'll fall into her trap.
The phrase "a cunning rabbit has three burrows" perfectly describes her.
Shen Shaolin raised an eyebrow with great interest, and smiled silently at the sight.
The journey was smooth and unimpeded.
However, someone couldn't help but feel a burning desire for gossip in their heart.
"Your previous cry for help made us think you were about to die for your country." Shen Shaolin's mouth itched, and he couldn't help but tease him again.
"If I die for my country, I will definitely take you with me." Ji Muhan glanced indifferently at the person who wanted to watch the show, and curled her lips with a rather cold look.
Even though it was just a tiny arc, the breathtakingly beautiful scene, like ice and snow melting away, made Mo Xiaoqing's eyes sparkle.
"..." No need to be so polite.
"Ji Muhan, the 'tricky' problem you mentioned earlier, you weren't referring to 'her,' were you?" Shen Shaolin glanced meaningfully in the direction of Mo Xiaoqing and asked again.
"..." Ji Muhan remained silent.
"..." Shen Shaolin.
Damn it, he was just joking, I didn't expect him to actually guess right!
God knows how vengeful this guy is. If he gives me a big surprise when I get back to the army, that won't be fun at all!
Qi Guang and the others also heard their conversation. The forest was so quiet that only their soft breathing and rustling footsteps could be heard.
Qi Guang opened his mouth, but before he could speak, he was speechless.
"At most, I'll say one thing: court-martial." Ji Muhan glanced at everyone's eager, gossipy hearts with a half-smile.
"..." Qi Guang choked.
Could it be that Shen Honglang guessed correctly and is unhappy about it?
But why is the captain unhappy? Is he angry because he was guessed correctly?
After that, apart from the sound of footsteps, there was no more sound of speaking.
Mo Xiaoqing has been particularly sensitive to direction since childhood, and has an extraordinary talent for remembering routes, even though she was in a panic when she escaped before.
But since her family dares to let her travel around alone, she must have some ability to protect herself.
When the group finally managed to evade several search teams and return to the outskirts of the camp, it was already getting light. The rainforest night was very cold, and if Mo Xiaoqing hadn't been moving around with Ji Muhan and the others and had just stood there waiting for them, she would have been shivering from the cold.
The camp gate was not closed, and four or five people with submachine guns were guarding it. People were constantly running in and out of the gate. The group bypassed that area and went back in through the barbed wire hole from which Mo Xiaoqing had escaped.
In the most secluded corner, Mo Xiaoqing tore a hole in the barbed wire. With Ji Muhan's disguise, it would be impossible to spot unless you looked closely. They had finally escaped, but now they had to go back from here.
Mo Xiaoqing felt once again that things in this world are truly full of drama.
After a short while, there was no more noise outside. She thought they had left, but then she suddenly heard his deep, cold voice, "Let's go after they've gone a little further away. Otherwise, too many people will make us too conspicuous and cause a lot of trouble!"
He tried to explain his reasons for making the decision to her, which made Mo Xiaoqing feel good. She felt respected, even though he was still very sparing with words.
"What about your two teammates?" Mo Xiaoqing asked curiously, watching the two figures disappear quickly into the darkness.
"Those two are responsible for drawing away the armed men in the camp," Ji Muhan explained casually.
"Oh." Mo Xiaoqing blinked, seemingly understanding but not quite.
Having met Ji Muhan so many times, he was always cold and taciturn towards her whenever they met. It was truly unprecedented for him to patiently explain something to her like this.
Thinking of this, she unconsciously moved closer to Ji Muhan.
Then came a slight scraping sound followed by endless silence!
Mo Xiaoqing doubted that the friction sound she had just heard was a hallucination. The sound was so faint that it was negligible. Ji Muhan quickly climbed up the tree, so fast that it was impossible to see his movements. Mo Xiaoqing knew that he was right above her, and there were two of his teammates not far away, but she did not feel safe at all. This was nothing compared to the peace of mind she felt when he was by her side.
As I remained anxious, a faint light gradually appeared. It was no longer pitch black; at least I could see the tangled branches and overgrown weeds outside.
Just when Mo Xiaoqing thought there were no other creatures in this space besides the chirping birds, crawling insects, and flying butterflies, Ji Muhan appeared again silently. "You said you knew where they were locked up. Can you describe the location?"
"It's the seventh wooden house from the bottom after you go around the hall," Mo Xiaoqing replied to the question.
Ji Muhan nodded to indicate that she understood, "Okay."
