Chapter 306 The Mystery of the Bracelet

Chapter 306 The Mystery of the Bracelet

After coming out of the antique market, Ning Xuan couldn't help but ask curiously:

"Ruanruan, what's the secret behind that bracelet?"

Chu Ruanruan touched her stomach and said, "I feel a little hungry. When I'm hungry, I tend to forget things. What should I do?"

Ning Xuan couldn't help but laugh: "What do you want to eat?"

“I haven’t eaten hot pot for a long time.”

Ning Xuan understood Chu Ruanruan's meaning immediately: "Then let's go eat hot pot. How about Lu Baiwei?"

"Okay!" Chu Runrun nodded repeatedly.

On the way to the hot pot restaurant, Chu Runrun cleared up Ning Xuan's doubts.

"That bracelet was stolen from a tomb. Jade is yin in nature and is suitable for ghosts to reside in. The bracelet has been soaked in blood for a hundred years and is contaminated with the resentment of the tomb owner. There is also a thousand-year-old evil ghost living in it. I'm afraid Leah will suffer if she carries it with her." Chu Runrun said with a smile.

"Then why did you give her the bracelet?" Ning Xuan asked with a smile.

Chu Ruanruan turned her head away and muttered, "Who told her to covet my things?"

Ning Xuan's smile deepened. The jealous Ruanruan was so cute!

Soon, night fell. Chu Runrun and Ning Xuan ate hot pot, which made them feel warm all over. The lively atmosphere of the hot pot restaurant also made them feel very comfortable.

But things were not so peaceful for Leah and Jason.

Originally, Leah was very happy to have snatched Chu Runrun's bracelet, but after returning to the hotel, Leah recalled the last smile Chu Runrun left her, and the more she thought about it, the more she felt something was wrong.

How could Chu Ruanruan give the bracelet to her so easily?

Leia looked at the bracelet on her hand, feeling a little more weird than when she looked at it during the day.

Leia believed in science and didn't care about Western vampires, let alone Eastern gods and ghosts.

But at this moment, when she looked at the bracelet, she felt a little uneasy.

After thinking it over, Leah wanted to take it off, but strangely, the bracelet seemed to be welded to her hand and could not be taken off no matter what.

After pulling for a long time, Leah gave up.

"Leah, are you in your room? It's almost seven o'clock and we have to go out for dinner." Jason knocked on the door.

"OK, I'll be there right away."

Leah changed her clothes and went out with Jason.

Jason frowned as he looked at the red marks on the back of Leah's hand caused by the bracelet.

"This bracelet doesn't fit your hand, why are you fighting with Miss Chu for it?"

Leah smiled sarcastically: "Why, are you feeling bad?"

Jason frowned and said helplessly, "Liya, I'm just concerned about you. This bracelet doesn't suit you. Look, your wrist is rubbed red."

"It's none of your business. I've already put it on, and no one can take it off." Leah said with a smile.

Jason spread his hands indifferently: "Alright! Wear it if you want!"

Leah and Jason went to a Western restaurant in a shopping mall, had dinner, and then left.

But they didn't know the way and were delayed for a long time. It was almost ten o'clock when they finished their meal.

Leah was a little tired: "Jason, could you please check the route to the restaurant before going out next time? Otherwise, we will waste time on the road."

"You only know how to tell me what to do. Why don't you make plans yourself?" Jason said somewhat displeased.

Leah behaves like a little princess at home and her temper hasn't changed after she came out. When she heard Jason speak like that, she became unhappy too.

"Jason, please understand that you are a man, where is your gentlemanly manners?" Leah said angrily.

"My gentlemanly demeanor is only reserved for gentle girls, not annoying young ladies like you." Jason said coldly.

"You...Jason, you are so abominable. I never want to go out with you again!"

With that, Leah angrily went to the parking lot alone.

Jason didn't chase after her. He had had enough of Leia's spoiled temper these days, and he didn't want to continue this journey with her.

After Leah came out of the mall, she realized that she didn't know the way back at all, and she didn't even know the name of the hotel she was staying in.

Leia was a little scared, but she still refused to give in to Jason.

After thinking it over, she saw a taxi and got in directly.

Jason just ran out of the mall and saw Leah get into a taxi. He quickly chased after her:

"Liya, come down quickly. Do you know the name of the hotel we are staying in?"

Leah sat in the car, watching Jason's figure getting farther and farther away, and made a smug face at him.

"Miss, where are you going?" asked the driver.

"I...I don't know either. I don't remember the name of the hotel I stayed in." Leah said.

"Then where should I take you?" the driver asked in confusion.

After thinking for a moment, Leah said, "Help me find the nearest hotel. I'll stay there for one night!"

After she finished speaking, she added: "I want a five-star one."

"The five-star hotel is not close to here, miss, are you sure you want to go there?" asked the driver.

"Of course, I'm not used to staying in other hotels," Leah said.

"Okay! Then please sit tight and fasten your seat belt," said the driver.

"OK."

The driver turned on the navigation on his mobile phone, looked at the traffic jam on the road ahead, turned the car into a small road.

Leah was dozing off when the notification on her phone's navigation system, "You've strayed from your route," woke her up.

Leia's heart was pounding as she watched the path outside becoming increasingly quiet.

"Sir, is this the way to the hotel? The phone shows that you have deviated from the route." Leah said.

The driver smiled and said, "There's a huge traffic jam ahead. It's so late now, so it's safer to take you back early, so I took a shortcut."

"But why is it so quiet here? We've already left the city." Leah said anxiously.

"It's okay. Although this road is a bit difficult to travel, it's faster than being stuck in traffic for hours. Don't worry, I'm not a bad person."

The driver grinned at Leah, but the more Leah looked at him, the more frightened she felt.

The further we walked, the fewer houses we saw, until we finally saw a large forest.

At first glance under the moonlight, it looked like the perfect place for murder and silencing witnesses that you have seen on TV.

Leah glanced at the driver. He was wearing a hat and had a strong build. If he was really a bad guy, she would not be able to escape if he took action.

At this moment, Leah also saw the fruit knife placed in the storage compartment next to her, with a faint red hue on the knife.

Leah's face suddenly turned pale as paper. She really met a murderer!

No, she is alone now and must save herself.

The driver whistled leisurely and opened the window from time to time to let the cold wind blow in.

"Miss, are you cold? Let me close the window." The driver said with a smile.

“No…not cold!”

Leia didn't want to close the window. What if there was anesthetic spray or something inside? She wouldn't even have a chance to resist.

As the road ahead grew darker, Leah decided she couldn't wait any longer.

While the driver wasn't paying attention, Leah picked up the knife next to her and pointed it at the driver, shouting angrily, "Stop the car!"
