Xuan Mingyu was puzzled. Usually, Bai Xiaoruo was the most enthusiastic when it came to going to school. Whenever her grandparents urged her to have a baby, she would use her student status to block them. Whenever he saw her at home, she was always busy sitting in front of the easel painting. After eating, she would go upstairs to paint as soon as possible. But now, she would cry uncontrollably whenever school was mentioned. Why was that?
He grabbed a few tissues from the table and handed them to her, saying, "Wipe your tears, you look awful crying."
Bai Xiaoruo pouted, took the tissue from Xian Mingyu's hand, and sobbed as she wiped her eyes. She couldn't stop crying, and her eyes were swollen from crying.
"How old are you? You cry every day. People who don't know better would think I'm bullying you."
Bai Xiaoruo remained silent and continued to cry.
Even Xuan Mingyu was at his wits' end with her.
"Alright, I'll have Gu Yao ask you to take another day off tomorrow so you don't have to go to school, okay?"
Only when told that she didn't have to go to school did Bai Xiaoru finally stop crying.
The word "school" now feels like a terrifying abyss to Bai Xiaoruo. She's afraid to even approach it, let alone go inside. Bai Xiaoruo wishes she could stay at home forever and never go anywhere else.
Seeing that she had finally behaved, Xuanmingyu was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief.
I don't know what happened to Bai Xiaoruo at school. Why did she become so strange, like a little child? She either cries nonstop or clings to him all the time, and he can't stand being too far away.
Xuan Mingyu reached out and picked Bai Xiaoruo up from the sofa, then walked straight upstairs.
Let her sleep a little longer, I need to rest too, I haven't slept well and I'm so sleepy.
As soon as Bai Xiaoruo was put on the bed, she became restless again.
Bai Xiaoruo remembered that she had promised Ji Shushu to wait for her in the classroom, but what happened when she went to wash her hands made her wonder when she got home from school. She hadn't heard from her at all for so long, and Shushu must be very worried.

Xuan Mingyu took Bai Xiaoruo's phone from the table and handed it to her, adding a special reminder as he did so: "You can play on your phone, but if you dare to make a sound and wake me up, I'll throw you out the door!"
Bai Xiaoruo held the phone, nodded in agreement, but after pressing a few buttons, she found that the phone did not respond at all.
Is the battery dead? It had half battery left before I left yesterday.
Bai Xiaoruo had no choice but to grab the charging cable from the bedside table and recharge her phone.
Xuan Mingyu didn't fall asleep as soon as he hit the bed. He lay down next to Bai Xiaoruo, covered himself with the blanket, and turned his back to her. He was still holding his phone and replying to some important messages. Mainly, he had to explain the company's arrangements to Gu Yao. Once Bai Xiaoruo was alright by tomorrow, Xuan Mingyu would naturally go back to work.
This phone charges very quickly, taking only fifteen minutes to fully charge, enough to last all day.
When Bai Xiaoruo turned on her phone, a huge number of unread messages and missed calls popped up all at once.
92 calls were from Ji Shushu, 70 from Ji Ziqian, 3 from Annie, and the last two were from Bai Minglei.
Annie was unaware of Bai Xiaoruo's predicament. The phone calls and messages she received were all inviting her to her home for dinner. She had prepared a lot of delicious food for Bai Xiaoruo.
Unfortunately, Bai Xiaoru was still in a high fever and unconscious at the time, so she couldn't enjoy the meal. She would have to call Sister Annie back later.
Bai Xiaoruo didn't know what Bai Minglei's call was about, but she didn't plan to answer. After all, she knew her father's attitude towards her over the past few years, and there was no need to go looking for trouble.
As for Ji Shushu and Ji Ziqian, they not only called a lot, but also sent hundreds of messages. Bai Xiaoruo knew that they were both worried about her.

Only after receiving permission from Xian Mingyu did Bai Xiaoruo dare to dial the number.
The call was answered quickly after two beeps.
Ji Shushu's anxious voice came from the other end of the phone: [Xiaobai! Xiaobai, is that you? Can you hear my voice? Where are you? How are you now? Have you been taken away? I went to the bathroom to look for you yesterday, and I only found your school uniform and backpack, but you were nowhere to be found. I kept calling you, but no one answered. "Shushu, I'm fine. I'm at home now."
Finally hearing Bai Xiaoruo's voice, Ji Shushu breathed a sigh of relief. It's good that she's alright, it's good that she's alright.
[Didn't we agree to go home together yesterday? Why did you leave on your own? Which house are you at? Can I come find you now?]
With Xian Mingyu still here, how could Bai Xiaoruo possibly dare to let Ji Shushu come looking for her?
