Bai Xiaoruo's mind was in a mess. Xuan Mingyu was flying to the United States tomorrow. Once that guest arrived, wouldn't she be left living with a complete stranger?
If it were a woman, she might be her love rival, or a very close friend of Xian Mingyu. Bai Xiaoruo felt uncomfortable just thinking about it. If it were a man, she would mind even more. What kind of relationship would it be for a man and a woman to live together? How could he possibly trust her like that?
Just how busy is he with his job that he has to go on another business trip?
The time I spent with him was less than 24 hours before he had to leave again.
Having gotten used to having him around, Bai Xiaoruo felt uneasy now that he was gone.
A few months ago, even if he went wherever he wanted and never came back to the new hospital to see her, Bai Xiaoruo wouldn't have cared and would have continued living her life. But now... habits are really a terrible thing; they keep lingering in one's mind.

"Just accept it. Buy some clothes and cosmetics to dress up. Don't try to save me money." He shoved the card into her arms.
"I... alright then." Bai Xiaoruo couldn't refuse any longer.
She accepted the card, but she wouldn't spend it. She'd put it in the drawer and lock it away, returning it to Xian Mingyu when he needed it.
Life is so much better now than before. We have plenty to eat and drink, so there's no need to waste money anymore. It's always good to be frugal.

Bai Xiaoru cleaned the guest room overnight, mopped the floor, wiped the surrounding area thoroughly, and took all the bedding, pillows, and sheets to wash. She would put them back on the bed after they dried in the sun the next morning.
Xuan Mingyu had to catch a flight in the morning. Although she knew that the United States was his home and that he had plenty of clothes and everything he needed, Bai Xiaoruo still carefully packed some clothes for Xuan Mingyu.
He collected everything he usually liked to wear and used.
When Xuan Mingyu came out of the bathroom after taking a shower, he saw Bai Xiaoru squatting on the ground, busy helping him pack his suitcase.
It's winter now, but she's working up a sweat. After cleaning the guest room, she came to help him tidy up. Actually, she didn't need to tidy up at all; she could have just left a piece lying around. But she insisted on putting it away for him.
What could he possibly say about her? He'd finally married a virtuous little wife? What a complete idiot!
He stepped forward, took her hand, and helped her up. "Alright, no need to clean up anymore. Go take a shower. I won't let you sleep in bed if you're all dirty."
"Huh? Am I dirty right now?" Bai Xiaoru wiped the sweat from her forehead with her arm, and looked at her clothes. There was nothing dirty on them.
I've been helping the Bai family and Bai Xiaofu with these things since I was little, it's become a habit, and I don't find it tiring at all.
"Otherwise what? Go take a shower. I didn't hire you to be my maid."
"Okay." Bai Xiaoruo obediently went to the wardrobe to get her pajamas and went into the bathroom.

When Bai Xiaoru came out of the bathroom, she saw that Xuan Mingyu was already asleep on the bed with his eyes closed, covered by a blanket. Afraid of waking him, she tiptoed around to the other side of the bed, lifted a corner of the blanket, and slowly lay down.
Just as she was about to pull the blanket over herself, the man behind her scooped her petite body into his arms.
Holding her while I sleep has become a nightly habit.
On every business trip that followed, Xuan Mingyu would suffer from insomnia unless Bai Xiaoruo was lying next to him.
Her fragrant and soft body smells nice and feels good to hold.
The sachet that Bai Xiaoruo had given to Xuan Mingyu was still kept at his private villa. Since he didn't often sleep there and frequently had to travel for work, Xuan Mingyu had stopped taking it with him.
