Finally, under Xuan Mingyu's coercion and enticement, Bai Xiaoruo had no choice but to finish the whole bowl of meat.
Xia brought her some warm water, and she drank three cups in a row to cleanse her palate.
I'm so full I feel like throwing up.
If I ate like this every day, not to mention whether I would gain a few pounds, I would feel like throwing up at the sight of meat.
After taking a shower that evening, Bai Xiaoruo sat in front of her dressing table combing her hair. Suddenly, she realized that she hadn't visited her grandfather at the nursing home for several days. She wondered how he was doing, whether he was alright, and if he still remembered her.
As she stood there in a daze, a pair of large, strong, white hands suddenly wrapped around her waist from behind. "How long are you going to keep combing your hair?"
Bai Xiaoruo was startled. Even though they had been together for more than half a year, she was still very uncomfortable with Xuan Mingyu's touch. Perhaps it was because there had never been any love between them.
Without love, she was merely a tool for him to obtain what he needed.
She put down the wooden comb in her hand, turned to face him, and reached out her arms, as if to hug him. "Okay, I'm sleepy."
Xuan Mingyu easily picked her up and placed her directly on the bed.
Once on the bed, Bai Xiaoruo quickly threw off the covers and lay down, covering her entire body except for her head. She knew what he wanted to do, and her whole body was still sore; she didn't want to be tormented by him any longer.
"I'm really sleepy and want to go to sleep. You're not allowed to touch me anymore."
Fine, since she's been relatively obedient today, I won't bully her anymore.
"I'll let you off the hook for tonight."
Xian Mingyu didn't touch Bai Xiaoruo again. He went around to the other side of the bed, lifted the blanket, and lay down on his own.
Then, naturally, I reached out and pulled her into my arms.
Although I promised not to touch her tonight, I didn't say I wouldn't hold her while we slept.
Bai Xiaoruo nestled obediently in Xuan Mingyu's arms, pondered for a few seconds, and got straight to the point, "I want to go somewhere tomorrow."
She didn't intend to hide it from Xian Mingyu. Since they were husband and wife, they should be honest with each other, right?
"Where are you going? Who are you with?"
He looked down at the little girl in his arms. Could she still be planning to keep up her relationship with that Ji Ziqian behind his back?
"There's no one else here, just me. I want to... go see my grandfather."
"Grandpa?" Xian Mingyu was a little surprised. This was the first time he had heard Bai Xiaoruo mention her grandfather. He had previously asked Gu Yao to investigate Bai Xiaoruo's information. There were many blanks, such as the line about her mother, and very few records from her childhood.
"Well, actually I only found him recently. I went to where he lived last time, and the environment was very bad. Plus, he was sick and couldn't remember many people and things. I really wanted to bring him back, but no matter how I tried to persuade him, he refused."
Where does he live?
"Hmm... a very remote nursing home on the outskirts of the city. I don't know how he ended up there. It's all thanks to Grandpa. If it weren't for his help, I might never have seen my maternal grandfather again."
Bai Xiaoruo told Xian Mingyu about her last meeting with Feng Zhiyuan.
It wasn't until she told him herself that Xian Mingyu realized that the last time she and her grandfather went out early in the morning, they were going to visit her maternal grandfather.
He misunderstood her for so long.
"It's windy this morning, I'll go with you this afternoon."
"Really?" Bai Xiaoruo peeked out from Xuan Mingyu's arms, both surprised and happy.
This was the first time he had voluntarily agreed to go out with her.
"Okay, go to sleep. I have to go out to run errands early tomorrow morning, so stay home and wait for me to come back."
"good."
Bai Xiaoruo was satisfied. She snuggled into his arms, closed her eyes, and quickly fell asleep.
Looking forward to tomorrow.
***
After having breakfast with Bai Xiaoruo, Xuan Mingyu went out.
No sooner had he left than Bai Xiaoruo rushed upstairs to look for clothes. She was going to visit her grandfather with him that afternoon, so what should she wear?
Should I wear something cute, or something simple and plain?
She rummaged through all the clothes in her closet, threw them on the bed, and started trying them on one by one. The thought of going out with Xian Mingyu that afternoon made her inexplicably happy.
......
Although Xuan Mingyu has been ordered by Xuan Zhengsen to stay by Bai Xiaoruo's side at all times for the next few days and is not allowed to go to the company, there are a few important documents that he is in charge of that he must personally deliver to Gu Yao for processing. Therefore, he has to make a special trip to his private villa. The important documents are in the drawer of his study.
It's already noon.
After handing the documents to Gu Yao and instructing him to handle them properly, I can go back and accompany Bai Xiaoruo to visit her grandfather.
As Xian Mingyu came out of the villa, a beautiful figure quickly ran away from the railing not far away.
At first, Hsien Ming-yu didn't take it to heart, thinking it was just someone from the neighborhood who was curious and came to look. But when he turned around and looked at that figure, the strong sense of familiarity made him stop in his tracks.
She hadn't run very far; she was still hiding behind a wall outside the villa. She slowly peeked out, thinking that Xian Mingyu had already left, but her eyes met his. Startled, she immediately ran down another path.
That look, that face, there's no mistake.
No matter how many years pass, Hsien Ming-yu will never forget.
Luo'er!
That really was his Luo'er!
He tossed the documents in his hand to the driver in the car, hurriedly left a message for him to give to Gu Yao, and then quickly chased after that figure.
