She sat calmly in the chair, her eyes somewhat vacant.
Her eyes were a little red, as if she had just been crying.
"What's wrong? You're crying over a meal? Is the food very spicy?" He looked at her with concern.
"Oh, no, a gust of wind blew sand into my eyes just now," she made up a reason.
Her tone was indifferent, indicating that she didn't really want to say much to him.
Wind? Was there a strong wind just now? How come he didn't feel it when he was outside on the phone?
"I'm full, I want to go out for a walk."
She suddenly stood up, about to leave her seat, when Xuan Mingyu grabbed her hand. "What's the rush? I haven't eaten yet. I'll take you shopping after I finish eating."
He wouldn't let her go out alone.
Bai Xiaoruo didn't say anything, silently sat back down in her seat, her face expressionless and devoid of any emotion, just sitting there motionless.
Her mind was in turmoil, a complete mess.
She didn't know how to face him, or whether she should bring up the matter of Luo'er.
Xuan Mingyu was not unaware of Bai Xiaoruo's sudden change. He had only been gone for a short while, so what had happened to her?
"Where do you want to go later? A shopping mall? Or a small street? I heard there's a temple fair tonight, do you want to go?" He took the initiative to start a conversation with her.
It's already evening, so if we want to see the scenery, we'll have to wait until tomorrow morning.
The area is more lively during the day than at night. Some streets are still worth strolling around in the evening, but after seven or eight o'clock, there are basically no people wandering the streets anymore.
