Bai Xiaoruo turned to look at Xian Mingyu, without fear or nervousness, looking directly into his eyes, "I'm throwing a tantrum? He gripped both of her hands tightly.
Xuan Mingyu raised Bai Xiaoruo's hands above her head, his dark eyes filled with anger, and his whole body exuded a cold and terrifying aura. "Bai Xiaoruo, don't think you can do whatever you want just because I dote on you! You'd better obey me obediently, or don't blame me for being rude to you! I never hit women, and I think you don't want to be the first!"
As soon as Xian Mingyu finished speaking, Bai Xiaoruo showed no fear whatsoever. Instead, she chuckled twice in a sarcastic tone. Yes, it was truly ironic.
Did he dote on her? Did she ever have his affection?
She once regarded him as her one and only husband, worried about him, missed him, and was always preoccupied with him.
She stood silently behind him the whole time, until one day he remembered her and was willing to turn around and look at her.
She had tried very hard to please him. She knew she didn't have any dazzling brilliance, but she was willing to be a rag that he could discard at will. As long as he needed her, she would be obedient, listen to him, and follow his every word. She would let him kiss her, hug her, and do whatever he wanted.
No matter how hurtful his words were, she would silently endure them, secretly crying countless times, yet always remaining humble and cautious when standing before him.
Then she continued to act like a fool, pretending nothing had happened, smiling and joking with him, being attentive to him, and daydreaming a lot, fantasizing that his gaze would linger on her more, that he would stay by her side more, even if only for a little while.
But now that she knows half the truth, she suddenly realizes that all the kindness he's shown her these past few days was fake, and that he has someone else on his mind.
She was once afraid of his burning heart and retreated. She was tired and confused. She couldn't afford to love him, and she didn't want to like him anymore.
