When Bai Xiaoruo returned to the Bai family home, neither Bai Minglei nor Song Meiyan were home.
According to the housekeeper, my father and stepmother went to a friend's party early this morning and won't be back until very late tonight. They also didn't notice that I stayed out all night.
Bai Xiaoruo could finally put her mind at ease.

Bai Xiaofu must have found out something. Or perhaps, what happened last night was planned by her and Xiao Yaran together. Otherwise, why would Xiao Yaran suddenly invite her, a classmate with whom she had no prior contact, to her birthday party?
Xiao Yaran is usually well-liked in class and has many friends, but none of her classmates were there last night, which is too strange.
Furthermore, Bai Xiaofu's unwarranted sarcastic remarks aroused Bai Xiaoruo's suspicions even more.
Yesterday, before I left home, Bai Xiaofu not only considered everything for me, but also specially took a gift box she had prepared from her room for me to take with me. But today, she has reverted to her arrogant attitude.
What happened last night must have been more complicated than it seems.
Bai Xiaoruo was annoyed: How stupid of her! Why didn't she think about it more carefully at the time? If she had realized something was wrong earlier, she would never have gone to Landi last night, let alone accepted Bai Xiaofu's gift box so easily.
