Bai Xiaoru slept until dawn.
When she habitually rolled over to the other side of the bed and touched it, there was nothing there except for the cold pillow and blankets.
Huh? Did Xian Mingyu get up before her?
She opened her eyes and slowly sat up in bed.
He was nowhere to be seen in the room.
Bai Xiaoruo thought that perhaps he had gone downstairs to have breakfast before her.
I remember last night she was playing with the little ones in the nursery, but she was too sleepy to move, so she just sat on the floor and fell asleep.

The door to the room was being pounded on from the outside, and the sudden banging startled Bai Xiaoruo on the bed.

She got out of bed, went to the bathroom to wash up, changed her clothes, and rushed downstairs to find Xian Mingyu.

Fang Peiru sat opposite Bai Xiaoru, occasionally muttering, "I forgot you were still sleeping upstairs. Hurry up and eat something. You won't wake up on your own without Mingyu here."
She was only trying to help Bai Xiaoruo and the baby in her belly. The incident of Bai Xiaoruo being admitted to the hospital the night before last had terrified her and her husband, who were afraid that something else might happen to her.
Before leaving, Xian Mingyu instructed them to take good care of Bai Xiaoruo.
Bai Xiaoru stirred the millet porridge in her bowl, took a small sip, and had little appetite. "I'm sorry, I'll definitely set my alarm clock earlier next time..."
"Never mind, I'll just go upstairs and wake you up starting tomorrow. No need to set an alarm." That thing is so startling; it's not good for a pregnant woman to be woken up like that all the time.
"Mom, you just said Mingyu isn't here. Where did he go?"

“He flew back to L City last night, so he won’t be able to come over for the New Year. But don’t worry about being too bored. If you want to go out, your aunt and I can go with you.”
