Chapter 320 If you don't like it, then don't like it.

While taking a nap at noon, Bai Xiaoruo suddenly felt a pain in her stomach.

She ran to the bathroom clutching her lower abdomen, only to find that there was some blood on her pants.

She's bleeding?

What's going on?

Why would someone bleed out of nowhere? They didn't eat anything that would cause internal heat.

I'm pregnant now, so it's unlikely that relatives will be visiting.

Although she had some doubts, Bai Xiaoruo didn't pay much attention to it. She changed her pants and sat down in front of the easel to paint.

The pain only lasted this one time, and the bleeding stopped. Bai Xiaoruo didn't take it to heart, thinking there shouldn't be any major problems.

"Knock knock knock—"

"Please come in."

Aunt Qin pushed open the door and came in carrying a bowl of soup and a small bowl. "Young mistress, it's time to drink your soup."

"Oh, you can leave it there, I'll drink it in a bit."

Bai Xiaoruo, wearing glasses and holding a pen, was busy drawing on the paper and answered her casually.

"That won't do. I've been simmering this soup for most of the day. It's best to drink it while it's hot," Aunt Qin muttered, placing the tray on the table, opening the lid, and scooping some soup into a small bowl.

This is mushroom and old chicken soup.

It's very nourishing for pregnant women.

Since Bai Xiaoruo also likes to eat mushrooms, Aunt Qin specially added a few more, along with a lot of red dates, so that she could eat her fill.

Bai Xiaoruo glanced at the soup bowl in Aunt Qin's hand, put down her pen, and said, "Alright then."

She took the soup bowl and sipped it with a small spoon.

These past few days, she's been drinking all sorts of nourishing soups almost every day. Although it's quite greasy, and she has to drink a big bowl of it every time—in the morning, at noon, and in the evening—Bai Xiaoruo obediently drinks them for the baby's sake.

I weighed myself a couple of days ago and I've gained a few pounds, but apart from my calves getting thicker and my belly getting bigger, there haven't been any other changes in my body.

Aunt Qin sat next to Bai Xiaoruo and kept serving her more after she finished drinking.

"Young Madam, have you and the young master... had another fight?"

Aunt Qin was most concerned about the relationship between the young couple.

When things are harmonious, they are really inseparable and can't live without each other. When they argue, they really fight fiercely, giving each other the silent treatment for several days, and sometimes even throwing and smashing things.

They are both not good at expressing themselves, and they keep many of their innermost thoughts to themselves, which often leads to misunderstandings.

"No, Aunt Qin, you're overthinking it." Bai Xiaoruo silently drank her soup, not really wanting to bring up the topic.

“I’ve watched the young master grow up since he was a child, and I know all his flaws. In any case, I really hope that you and the young master will be happy together. The master and madam made the right choice in choosing you. You and the young master are the most suitable for each other.”

Bai Xiaoruo just smiled and said, "Who knows? Life isn't over yet, who can say for sure who is right for whom..." She handed the soup bowl to Aunt Qin and gently stroked her belly. "I just hope that the baby can be born safely in a few months and that he can be a good father."

As for herself, perhaps she will continue to stay here as his wife in name only, but perhaps one day this position will be replaced by someone else.

None of that matters anymore. Right now, her only wish is to find inner peace and for everything to be alright.

"Yes, it will. Don't worry too much, young mistress. The child will be safe and sound, and the young master will definitely be a good father."

"Um... Aunt Qin, I still need to paint. I won't drink the soup now, I'll save it for tonight, I'm a little full."

“Alright then,” Aunt Qin said, tidying up the soup bowl. “I’ll go out now. Please call me if you need anything, young mistress.”

"good."

***

In the evening, Xuan Mingyu came home from get off work.

The aroma of food wafted through the living room as Aunt Qin carried a plate of stir-fried dishes out of the kitchen.

"Young Master, you're back."

"Hmm, where is she?"

He was referring to Bai Xiaoruo.

Aunt Qin glanced upstairs, put the dishes she was holding on the table, and then pulled Xuan Mingyu aside. "Young Master, Young Madam has been staying in her room all day and hasn't come out."

"All day? What was she doing in her room?"

"Shortly after you left this morning, the young mistress said she had a headache and went upstairs to sleep. In the afternoon, she drank a bowl and a half of soup but didn't eat anything else. She just kept drawing. The young mistress seems to be in a bad mood, so please be more accommodating to her and don't argue with her."

"I know."

Even if Aunt Qin didn't say anything, Xuan Mingyu could sense it.

Bai Xiaoruo has indeed been acting strangely these past few days. Xuan Mingyu couldn't quite put his finger on what was wrong, but it seemed like she was deliberately targeting him.

She could laugh and joke with anyone, but when she faced him, her face would turn cold instantly. She would become quiet, or simply fall silent, and wouldn't even let anyone touch her.

"I've finished cooking. Why don't you go upstairs and call the young mistress down for dinner?"

"Um."

......

When Xian Mingyu pushed open the door to the room, Bai Xiaoruo was still sitting in front of the easel painting.

He stood silently behind her, and she had no idea that he had come home from get off work.

She was applying color, and this painting was very different from her usual paintings, which was a bit puzzling.

A tender green dandelion was drawn at the very top, and in the middle of the drawing was a bird and an open window.

The bird stood by the window, raindrops falling outside. Its gaze was fixed on the outside; its eyes were pale blue, and its body was gray.

Hsien Ming-yu couldn't quite understand what the painting was trying to express.
