On the bus.
The company's manager kept explaining the company's current situation to He Xianmingyu, but he didn't listen to a word of it.
He held his forehead, his head aching.
I had another hangover last night, and then I rushed to S City by plane early this morning.
I can't muster any energy and I can't sleep.
The car was driving smoothly when suddenly there was a sudden, violent braking in front, and everyone in the car was thrown forward.
The company manager quickly checked on Xuan Mingyu to make sure he wasn't injured, while berating the driver, "How could you drive like that! If anything happens to President Xuan, I'd like to know if you still want this job!"
The driver kept apologizing, "I'm so sorry, I have elderly parents and young children to support. Please don't fire me. I really didn't mean to. I was driving just fine when suddenly a round thing flew out from the side of the road. I was afraid of hitting it, so I braked suddenly."
Something round and plump?
What is it?
"I'm fine. You all stay seated, I'm getting out of the car to get some fresh air."
Anyway, there's no rush to get to the company right away.
Hsien Ming-yu avoided the other people in the car and got out alone.
The car was parked in front of the gate of a kindergarten.
He walked to the roadside, a cigarette dangling from his lips, and prepared to take out a lighter to light it.
"Uncle! Uncle!"
Suddenly, a few soft, cute voices came from behind me.
Xuan Mingyu paused for a moment, holding the lighter in his hand, then turned around—
Behind him, through the gate of the kindergarten, a cute little one was clinging to the railing, staring at him with big, round eyes.
The moment he saw her bright, round eyes, Xuan Mingyu was completely stunned.
The little girl in front of me looks like a miniature version of Bai Xiaoruo.
The eyes, nose, and small mouth all look exactly like hers.
He put the lighter back in his pocket, threw away the cigarette he hadn't lit yet, walked to the railing, and looked down at the little guy in front of him.
Are you calling me?
He hadn't really liked children over the years, but now, seeing this little one in front of him, he inexplicably wanted to get close to her and be affectionate with her.
The little guy looked at him with pitiful eyes, as if he had some trouble to tell him: "Uncle, my little ball fell outside, can you help me get it back? I haven't finished school yet, so I can't leave the kindergarten to get it myself."
"A small ball?"
Where did this little ball come from?
Hsien Mingyu turned around and looked around. Sure enough, he saw a small orange ball in front of the car.
It looks only slightly smaller than a normal basketball.
It's bulging, filled with air.
He picked it up, walked back to the kindergarten gate, squatted down, and handed it to the little one inside the fence. "Is this your little ball?"
"Yes! This is it!"
The little guy took the small ball from Xian Mingyu's hand with his soft, chubby hands, and bowed to him politely, saying, "Uncle, thank you, you are such a kind person."
She was holding the ball, grinning happily. She had a row of white teeth, a round face, and two cute dimples. She was a pretty little beauty in the making.
At this moment, Hsien Ming-yu couldn't help but stare in a daze.
When this little one smiles, she looks even more like her.
If his little Ruo'er were still alive, and their baby were still alive, perhaps he would be about this age now.
As he watched, his eyes welled up with tears.
His eyes were fixed on the little one in front of him; he couldn't get enough of looking at her.
"Uncle, what's wrong? Don't cry, don't cry. Mommy said adults shouldn't cry all the time." The little guy took out a small handkerchief from his pocket, stretched his chubby little hand out over the railing, and haphazardly wiped his eyes.
"Don't cry, okay? Even though Youyou isn't as tall as Uncle, Youyou will protect Uncle when Youyou grows up!"
Hearing her innocent words, the sadness in Xuanmingyu's heart vanished instantly.
She's such a little angel.
This little dumpling, and you're already thinking about growing up to protect him?
He took her little hand, smiled at her, and said, "Uncle, don't cry, thank you."
Oh right, what did she say her name was again?
"Little one, can you tell me your name? You comforted your uncle, and your uncle has a gift for you."
"A gift?" The little one's eyes lit up, but then he frowned. "That's not a good idea... Mom said we shouldn't accept things from strangers..."
“Your mother is right. But your uncle is not a bad person. He genuinely wants to thank you. If you secretly accept the gift and don’t tell your mother, she won’t know.”
“Yes!” The little guy nodded. “Uncle helped me pick up the little ball. Uncle is a good person, not a bad person.”
She liked this handsome uncle in front of her even more than her father.
"Uncle, let me tell you! My name is Youyou, and my full name is Mo Youxi. Uncle, can you give me any gift I want?"
"Sure, whatever you want, Uncle can conjure it up for you right away."
"Great!" Little Youyou jumped up happily and continued talking to Xian Mingyu, "Uncle, I really want to go to the amusement park. My mom and dad are both very busy with work, and they always lie to me, saying they'll take me when they have time. But Youyou has waited for so long and still hasn't been able to go. All the kids in my class have been, and their parents took them. I'm so envious..." As she spoke, the little girl pouted and couldn't help but cry. She dreamed of seeing what an amusement park was like; she had only seen a few quickly passing pictures in TV commercials.
