Chapter 47 Moving Out of the Dormitory

the next day.

When Bai Xiaoruo woke up, it was almost noon.

Since it was Tuesday, as was her habit in the dormitory, Bai Xiaoruo lifted the covers and thought about quickly washing up so she could wake up Ji Shushu and go to the classroom to register together.

I'm rarely late, and this is the first time I've ever made such a mistake in my life.

She sat up abruptly, looking around at the master bedroom, which was more than three times larger than her old small room. Bai Xiaoruo immediately remembered it.

How stupid of me! I'm on leave right now, why would I need to go to school?

Besides... I got married yesterday, so of course I should live here. Why would I need to go back to the dormitory?

I haven't slept this comfortably in a long time. The mattress is soft, the bedding is soft and has a faint floral scent, and the 2.2-meter-wide bed is so comfortable that I can roll around or lie in any position. It's hard not to oversleep.

I put on my slippers, went into the bathroom to wash up, and when I came downstairs, Aunt Qin had already prepared breakfast. The table was covered with steaming hot breakfast, both Chinese and Western dishes.

Chinese-style dishes include steamed buns, side dishes, millet porridge, fried dough sticks, and soy milk, while Western-style dishes include toasted bread slices, sandwiches, milk, and fried eggs.

But there was only one pair of bowls and chopsticks on the entire table.

Presumably, even Aunt Qin already knows that Xian Mingyu left last night.

"Good morning, young mistress. Breakfast has been prepared for you."

"This... isn't this a bit too much?"

"Since we don't know your preferences very well, young mistress, and we don't know what you like to eat in the morning, we prepared a little bit of everything."

"Actually, I'm not a picky eater. I'll eat whatever you prepare."

Bai Xiaoruo walked to the chair in front of the dining table and sat down, feeling a little embarrassed.

I'm still not used to this kind of life where I'm waited on.

"Don't all stand there, come and eat with us."

Bai Xiaoruo picked up the sandwich on the table, took a bite, and found the bread crust to be fragrant and soft, with plenty of filling inside. She hadn't had such a delicious sandwich in a long time. She then took a big gulp of the warm milk that had been heated on the table, which was also very tasty. She felt so happy.

"Young Madam, we've already eaten, so please continue eating."

"Ugh... how can I possibly finish all of this by myself?"

"It's alright if you can't finish it, young mistress. Please eat as much as you can."

"Okay, let's not waste things like that in the future... By the way, Aunt Qin, I wanted to ask you, is the bus stop nearby far? I want to go to the school dormitory to move all my things back, and I'd like to tell my friend while I'm at it."

“If you’re going to school, Madam, why don’t you just have Old Chen give you a ride? Why ask about the bus stop? You’re the young mistress of the Xian family, how can you take the bus? It’s beneath your dignity.”

"I... okay then."

Bai Xiaoruo originally wanted to say that she had always taken the bus and was perfectly fine since she was a child, so what was there to complain about? But then she thought better of it and decided not to say it, otherwise Aunt Qin would nag her for a long time.

Although you've left the Bai family and escaped the dislike of your father and stepmother, you should still be careful with your words and actions in the Xian family.

Driver Lao Chen dropped Bai Xiaoru off at the school gate, and Bai Xiaoru got out of the car immediately.

"Young Madam, are you sure you don't need me to go in with you to help you move things?"

"No need, Uncle Chen. I don't have much stuff. You can wait here for me. I'll be out soon. Oh, by the way, Uncle Chen, please don't call me 'Young Madam' in public anymore. Just call me Xiao Ruo."

"Alright then, Xiao Ruo, I'll wait for you in the parking space ahead. We can't stay here for too long."

"Um."

Bai Xiaoru pinned the school badge to her chest and walked into the school alone.

The school security guards had already given prior notice, and the dormitory check-out procedures had been completed. All I need to do is move the remaining luggage out of the dormitory as soon as possible in the next couple of days.

It was lunchtime, and there weren't many students around on campus. The sun was shining and it was hot, so most people preferred to stay in their dormitories or the library.

When I entered the dormitory, everyone had just finished lunch and returned to rest.

Several people were sitting around the lower bunk watching TV series on their laptops, while some were combing their hair on the bed. Ji Shushu was lying on the bed with her legs crossed, engrossed in playing on her phone. When she saw Bai Xiaoruo standing at the door, she quickly put down her phone and got off the bed.

"Xiao Bai! Where have you been? I've missed you so much all day!" Ji Shushu put on her slippers and hugged Bai Xiaoruo tightly.

"Shushu, I miss you too."

The other girls in the dorm looked over and glared at them unhappily, signaling them to be quiet and not disturb their TV viewing.

Ji Shushu glared back and pulled Bai Xiaoruo to sit on her bed. "Xiaobai, are you back for class today? Where did you go yesterday? Last night I asked the teacher for leave to go to your house to look for you, but no one was home. Your housekeeper said your whole family went to a wedding. Did your dad and stepmother bring you along? Has Bai Xiaoruo been bullying you again?"

Although Ji Shushu knew that Bai Xiaoruo had taken a week off, she asked the teacher, but even the teacher didn't know what Bai Xiaoruo had gone to do on leave. The teacher only said that there was something that had to be done at home. Out of concern for Bai Xiaoruo, Ji Shushu asked the homeroom teacher for leave yesterday afternoon when she had no classes. However, when she arrived at Bai's house, she was turned away because no one was home.

"This..." Bai Xiaoruo suddenly didn't know how to explain it to Ji Shushu.

You can't just tell her directly that her father and stepmother did go to a wedding yesterday, specifically her own wedding, and that yesterday... was her wedding day...
